We have had wonderful time at this hotel as a family. The location is beautiful. While it is at the very center and close to several museums (Museum of Modern Art among others), it is quiet and great for walks. The outside terrace is great. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The hotel staff is extraordinary: friendly, attentive, available and discreet at the same time. They have gone out of their way to take care of our three-year daughter and helped me with different arrangements and organisation of our stay. Particular big thank you to Catherine.

I am in fear of writing this review, because this hotel is only going to become more popular, but hopefully I can still secure rooms in the future. ;) Boutique meets Chic at this hotel and the rooms are fabulous. What's more is the staff is attentive and were receptive to all of our needs and requests. We stayed for 4 nights and were so impressed, we canceled our reservations at the Hilton and stayed for an extra night on my birthday. After extending our stay one more night (5 total), we were upgraded, from a king room with tub facing the garden on ground level, to a fabulous king suite in the main building with water views on the top level. Both rooms were well appointed and outfitted with some amazing bath products. What sets this place apart are thee items: 1. The price for the value of the rooms is second to none. We received 25% off for staying a minimum of 4 nights!! 2. The location is more than ideal--in the heart of the city but an island all to yourself. Magical and romantic, with harbor views yet isolated from the noise of the city. 3. The breakfast could actually be number 1 on this list, that is how good it is. I'm sure the Grand Hotel (5 Star) does not have as good of a spread or as high quality of FRESH food. I had their plate de jour for lunch one day and the Grand wasn't as good as the food at the hotel Skepp! The salmon and french toast are worth a 1/3 of the room rate alone, not to mention the Cafe Latte's. With dining room decor to complement that invites with clean Swedish design. For the bad side I have two complaints: 1. We had an issue with the tub in our first room but the staff readily handled that situation well. 2. Sheets are not changed on the daily, I guess every three days, unless requested. This information needs to communicated to guests in a more clear fashion and any type of 'soiled sheets' should be removed regardless of what day-of-use they are on. In both situations the staff were apologetic and accommodated our needs. For this reason, the experience of the overall stay, the proximity to the local museums, the details like guest umbrellas, bath robes, a fully stocked mini bar, gift offerings in the mini-lobby and the welcoming vibe--we will be back. Hopefully we can get the same room. Tack (Thank you), Matt

As a retired frequent business and pleasure traveler who has spent countless nights on the road, my general recommendation is to take the best reviews posted here to heart. If you enjoy being just another room number in a cookie-cutter hospitality factory, avoid Hotel Skeppsholmen. Otherwise, please read on. Beyond comfortable, tastefully designed rooms, nice views, good amenities and well-prepared culinary creations, Hotel Skeppsholmen becomes a nightly romantic walk “home” over a lamp lit bridge, expansive views, onto a quaint islet, 10 minutes by foot, but a world away from bustling central Stockholm. What truly sets Hotel Skeppsholmen apart from the pack, however, is its cordial, genuine 5-star staff. From the moment even a first-time guest walks in, there is an inexplicable, comfortable sense of familiarity, perhaps as if returning to a place long-missed. Accolades go to the restaurant staff for making each meal feel like we were dining in the home of special friends. Likewise, accolades to the guest services Manager and her crew where attention to detail and little surprise touches are in store for guests. It is readily apparent the Skeppsholmen Managing Director has an eye for assembling an outstanding a team worth its weight in gold. Truly, saying goodbye was all-too-soon and all too difficult. But thanks in large part to their 5-star service, now I dream of yesterday at Hotel Skeppsholmen, yet fight a bit of sadness at being unable to return until Summer.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review and what a fabulous one to receive. We fuses ancient with modern, our historical buildings from 1699 who are on the Swedish 100 list and on par with The Royal Palace to our very scandi interior by Claesson Koivisto Rune. I am so glad to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. Extra glad to read your comments about the service and ambiance from my team. We strive to have a personal and informal service and want our guests to feel at home when they are staying with us. I hope that me and my team will have the pleasure to welcome you back in the near future. Best, Joachim Managing Director

My (adult) daughter and I recently stayed here for a weekend in Stockholm and we absolutely loved it! It was a perfect location, beautifully situated on the water, quiet and away from the touristy hustle and bustle but centrally located. Despite its being on a separate island everything was easily accessible either by walking or taking the ferry. Our room was extremely comfortable (I know this is subjective but I thought the bed was amazing) and although the bathroom was somewhat small, the shower was great and everything was spotless. The breakfast room/ restaurant was lovely and bright and the breakfast buffet was delicious. Everyone who works at the hotel is wonderful but I have to give a special shout out to Lucas, the young concierge who gave us tips on several great restaurants, made (and changed) reservations and was charming to work with. I can’t wait to visit again!
