We had a great four night stay having had to put back twice previously due to the pandemic. Staff were cheerful, friendly and approachable and spoke impeccable English. Upgraded to a lovely garden and sea view room on the top floor above the outside patio area. Peaceful and mainly quiet once you got used to the shrieks across the water from the adventure park! Breakfast was outstanding both in terms of food amd service. Dinner service was more patchy with unnderstaffing in very busy periods leading to some delays. Nevertheless this was a small gripe in a great trip with Amamda & Kristine on the front desk both being excellent ambassadors for their lovely city. Would highly rcommend this hotel.
This is a gorgeous and peaceful hotel! We had a wonderful room with a garden view. The food is absolutely amazing, especially breakfast, and the staff is very friendly. We loved our stay, especially the ease with which we could walk to the main part of Stockholm and visit the Museet Moderna. I heartily recommend this hotel!
There is truly no place like Hotel Skeppsholmen; I’ve been traveling to see family in Sweden for a decade and have never had a better stay in the city. I’ve now stayed here four times, and have no plans to stay elsewhere in the future. The hotel is tasteful to the max, and is located in the most special spot. It is peaceful and interesting, and less than a five minute (stunning) walk until you’re in central Stockholm. Nights are calm and soothing, and the breakfast is literally divine. I think about the buffet often… truly the best I’ve ever had at any hotel. The staff is incredibly sweet and helpful, and the overall atmosphere is kind, clean, and artistic. There is truly not a hotel I could recommend more than Skeppsholmen. It is so chic and you instantly feel enamored by it’s unique charm. In the summer, the front lawn is always sunlit and has ample sunchairs to enjoy the day; in the colder seasons the indoor lounge area is the ideal set up for a cozy way to warm up with a coffee, or particularly delicious hot chocolate. The rooms themselves are so tastefully done and very fresh… the color scheme and layout is lovely. I adore this hotel, and am so glad to have found it, I can guarantee you will be just as charmed by this gem of Stockholm as I find myself being over and over again! Thank you Skeppsholmen!…
This is the perfect combination of city life and tranquility. In summer time the only hotel in Stockholm where you can have breakfast in the garden and after work in a sun chair. This is my to go to hotel when i need to recharge and reload. I recommend you see everything there is to see and do in the city. As soon as you step inside it feels you're at home and with the super friendly staff and the amazing food the risk is you'll don't want to leave the hotel. The closeness to Gröna Lund fun park and Old town shopping is just a boat ride away. Go, stay, enjoy and most of all, come back. Best choice you'll ever make. This is a hotel in a class of it's own.
Waking up in this idyllic surrounding is a feast for the senses…the gorgeous scent of flowers wafting through the air and a kaleidoscope of colors frame your window. Breakfast outside under the trees is the perfect way to start your morning with a wide selection from the buffet featuring an array of Swedish delicacies, traditional eggs, crispy bacon and sumptuous pastries! Modern Scandinavian design featured throughout the property with special attention paid to the rooms—minimal yet super comfortable! The well appointed rooms offer products by the Swedish founded brand BYREDO—Bal D’Afrique the most popular scent, light + fruity. Lastly, I must comment on their incredible staff—warm, welcoming and super helpful! They’re committed to ensuring each guest feels special and well taken care of. I very much look forward to my next trip to Stockholm and booking into the Hotel Skeppsholmen for a long autumn stay!…
This was our third stop in a four country tour. Previous two hotels were in the city, so Hotel Skeppsholmen was a breath of fresh air. Really beautiful location. It feels like you are staying in a park -- until you hear the screams from across the lake. There is an amusement part directly across the water and it stays open late. But if your windows are closed it's not a big deal. The ladies at the reception desk are awesome. I can't say enough about the friendly staff. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. My husband says the breakfast buffet was his favorite part of the visit. The Torpedverkstan Restaurant & Bar is located on the island - 5 minute walk from the hotel. Great vibe and food. We cant wait to go back!
Hotel Skeppsholmen was a peaceful gem right in the center of Stockholm. A historic building, it has been updated and and modernized, with Scandic decorating touches that make it a true getaway in the middle of a city. It was amazing to be on a green, parklike island so close to everything you want to see and do in Stockholm. You could easily walk to shopping and dining options, Gamla Stan or museums, but alternately you could take the ferry from a stop very close to the hotel. And the views across the water were stunning. An early morning walk or an evening stroll around the island were the perfect beginning or ending to your day. The modern art museum was steps away, with a wonderful cafe with delicious, affordable meals and stunning views of the harbor. As a former army barracks, there was loads of history in this building and on the island. Lots to explore and many signs to indicate what all the buildings were. The included breakfast buffet was incredible, with lots of Scandinavian touches, along with regular breakfast fare. There was fresh-squeeze orange juice every morning. My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful gem of a hotel and it will be our go-to on future trips to Stockholm.…
Sitting in my room, eating the most fabulous breakfast, with the most heavenly view through the trees across the water, a goose flew past my open window. I literally felt the air move across my face as they flew by. Could anything be more perfect?! For seven glorious days and nights I spent time just admiring and appreciating so many aspects of what makes this hotel an incredible place to stay. If like me, you adore peace, tranquility, history, architecture, art, design, amazing food and hospitality then you'll find it all (and more) here. It even smells incredible. The beautiful building has been transformed with such skill into a magical place to eat, sleep and breathe in. And all of that is before you set foot outside..... Such a unique location. Hidden among the trees, yet a short walk away from the city. My first trip to Stockholm was made all the more special by this truly wonderful place to stay and I cannot imagine ever wanting to stay anywhere else. Truly - what an absolute pleasure.…
This nice place was the best choice we could do. Close to the city, surrounded by green and sea, one of the best hotels we've seen in terms of location, design, room, ambience, service. breakfast was excellent and in a nice atmosphere, we had also dinner which was excellent as well. We enjoyed every day, in the morning when we started our visits and walks and every time when we came "back home" from a long exciting day in Stockholm.
Our favorite great hotels have many things in common: a beautifully renovated historic building in an excellent convenient location, a friendly professional staff who satisfies every request small or large with the same graciousness, excellent food, and a relaxing quiet environment. Hotel Skeppsholmen satisfies all of this while also providing a hotel experience that is totally unique and special. Where else can you find a hotel that provides its own parklike sanctuary of peace and quiet on an island in a harbor in the center of the beautiful capital of a major European country where there is almost no vehicular traffic and the majority of the pedestrians are either your fellow hotel guests or passengers boarding the local ferry. And where can you find all of this in a location that is so central that a five minute walk will enable you to across a bridge into the heart of the city and another 25 minute walk to reach the Old Town with easy access to any of the excellent local restaurants, or where you can also take a ferry only five minutes from the front door of the hotel. Once you have stayed on this island of tranquility in the midst of everything that Stockholm has to offer, your only thought upon leaving will be simply, "when can we return?"…
