    A delight!
My (adult) daughter and I recently stayed here for a weekend in Stockholm and we absolutely loved it! It was a perfect location, beautifully situated on the water, quiet and away from the touristy hustle and bustle but centrally located. Despite its being on a separate island everything was easily accessible either by walking or taking the ferry. Our room was extremely comfortable (I know this is subjective but I thought the bed was amazing) and although the bathroom was somewhat small, the shower was great and everything was spotless. The breakfast room/ restaurant was lovely and bright and the breakfast buffet was delicious. Everyone who works at the hotel is wonderful but I have to give a special shout out to Lucas, the young concierge who gave us tips on several great restaurants, made (and changed) reservations and was charming to work with. I can’t wait to visit again!
Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review and what a fabulous one to revive. Very glad to read that you enjoyed everything from our stunning location, our scandi interior, our Duxiana beds to our restaurant and our complimentary breakfast buffet. Extra glad to read your comments about the service and ambiance from my team, rest assured they have read your review. Thank you for staying with us and I do hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you back next time you visit our capital. Best, Joachim Managing Director

    Beautiful oasis in the city
We were coming to Stockholm and had a Marriott free night certificate available. Last year we had a similar situation and chose the Hotel J, which was lovely, but this time we didn't have a car and thus wanted something more central. Ultimately we selected Hotel Skeppsholmen (even buying a few extra points to make it happen) - and were very happy with our choice! The location is on the quiet island of Skeppsholmen surrounded by water and beautiful views of Stockholm is simply wonderful, and no other hotel can match it. The building is truly historic, but the interior is beautiful and understated Scandinavian design. Room was very nice and spacious and clean, beds were comfortable. Only the designer bathroom sinks are not the most practical... Breakfast was a really good Swedish spread - the buffet space perhaps a bit crowded, but the food and the setting making up for it. Great and welcoming service has to be highlighted, especially front desk. We were impressed that our luggage was waiting for us in the room after we had left it at reception in the morning (even many top hotels I've staid just have the guest dump/collect in storage), and that there were personalized welcome papers for us. PS: While not explicitly noted on the website, the Marriott point-rate room still included free breakfast.
Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review and what a great one to read. We fuses ancient with modern, our historical buildings from 1699 to our Scandinavian interior. I agree, our location is stunning, on this small and green island and still in the city centre. Very glad to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and extra glad to read your comments about the service from my colleagues. We strive to have a personal and informal service and ambiance, rest assured my team has read your review. Thank for staying with us and I hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you back next time you visit Stockholm. Best, Joachim Managing Director

    Safe and lovely stay!
We had the most pleasant stay in your hotel! Our room with the charming see view was so nice and well designed! As we wanted to stay safe we had dinner in the hotel restaurant with excellent service and really nice food! We felt very welcome the hole stay, and we appreciated the way the breakfast was arranged, ordered and served at the table. The hotel have a great location and you feel nearby to the city, and at the same time it's like a private eyland with tranquility. We can just imagine how beautiful and charming the outdoor terrace will be in the spring and summertime! We will absolutely come back to Hotel Skeppsholmen and your hospitality! Thank you very mutch for this time.
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write this review and what a great one to receive. Me and my team are very glad to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. Yes our location is stunning, on this green and small island and still in the city centre. Our feedback from our guests is that they love our location and tranquility even more now in these Corona times. We are very proud to have Alexander Carnolf as our Head Chef and the Swedish cuisine he serves. And yes, if you come during spring and summer you will dine outside on our terrace and in our garden. Thank you for staying with us and hope to welcome you back soon again. Best, Joachim Managing Director

This is an excellent hotel. My partner and I spent four glorious days at this hotel and enjoyed practically every moment of it. The hotel is located on Skeppsholmen island which is connected by a bridge to central Stockholm. The island itself is idyllic and the hotel is surrounded by beautiful greenery. It feels very secluded even though it is only a five-minute walk from center of Stockholm. It was very easy to walk from there to Gamala Stan and Vasa and Nordic Museums. I guess we were lucky that we had excellent weather for our entire stay. If the weather was bad, I don’t know if we would have liked it as much. The breakfast was great and the restaurant is very good, although it has a limited selection for dinner and if Scandinavian food is not to your liking, you may want to look elsewhere. The hotel had arranged for pickup from the airport for us which was very smooth. The staff also helped us with restaurant reservations. Our room was airy with good light. The first night, we heard some music from across the harbor but otherwise the room. was very quiet. We had a garden and harbor view room on the top floor. The bathroom was small but functional. If we had one complaint about our stay was the sink in the bathroom. There was this slab of pseudo-rock in the middle of the sink that covered the drain I suppose for aesthetics. However, the water food spray from it all over that bathroom whenever we used it. The windows can be opened but they don’t have screens so while you may want to open them during the day, at night you need to keep them close to keep the bugs away. Note that there is no dedicated bell staff at the hotel. Although the front desk staff helps you move your luggage, be prepared to be your own bellboy at times. I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review and as always it has been read by my my team. I am thrilled to read your review and that you enjoyed your stay with us. I agree, our location is unique. Stockholm are built on 14 islands and we are located on one of the smallest and greenest and still in the city centre and with all Stockholm attractions within walking distance. We are very lucky to the amazing Modern Museum as our neighbour, they have a fantastic exhibition by Rosa Segel right now. Further down the street you have the stunning National Museum. We are very proud to have Alexander Carnolf as our Head Chef, I am glad that you enjoyed our popular complimentary breakfast and our restaurant Långa Raden. Thank you for staying with us and I hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you back next time you visit Stockholm. Best, Joachim Managing Director

The position of Hotel Skeppsholmen is delightful and overlooks the waters of the archipelago. The standard of the hotel is exceptional and the all staff are pleasant and welcoming nothing seems too much trouble. Breakfast is buffet stile and offers both English and Continental and you can enjoy both. Lunch and dinner is again of a very good standard. We were very happy in this environment after staying there for 7 days. We will return as there is so much to see in Stockholm.

We stayed for 5 days in this hotel while celebrating birthday and wedding anniversary. Hotel is located centrally within Centre of Stockholm admidst lots of nature and water. Rooms were great but also breakfast and restaurant were terrific. Most of all I would like to mention staff that was super friendly and helpful advising on sightseeing, etc. We will definitely be back. Best hotel in years…and of course Stockholm being a great city does the rest!

My wife and I chose Skeppsholmen because I had seen it on a list of the top boutique hotels in Stockholm. When we saw where it is located, on what amounts to a private island in the middle of Stockholm, we thought it could be the perfect spot to use as a base for our short 4-day stay in Stockholm. The Hotel Skeppsholmen far exceeded our expectations. We were in Stockholm over the Midsommar holiday, and the hotel had a terrific Midsommar dinner menu in the restaurant. Breakfasts outside on the veranda each morning were quiet and peaceful, with a wide selection of hot dishes, pastries, and coffee. Our room was nicely appointed, with a very comfortable bed, good closet space, and a roomier-than-expected bathroom. Since it was Midsommar, basically daylight all day and night on the days we were there, the blackout shutters did their job in keeping it relatively dark at 'nighttime'. The location, serviced by both a ferry and bus stop right outside of the hotel, meant we never had to wait long for some form of transportation to get us on our way to where we were headed. The ferry stop right at the hotel was particularly convenient. Stockholm isn't a huge city and while we enjoyed taking the ferry, we walked from the hotel to our various destinations a number of times, as well. The bridge that takes one to and from the Skeppsholmen island provides some great photo opportunities of Stockholm scenes as one walks across. Lastly, the staff at the hotel could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The front desk staff were charming, efficient, and quick to provide accurate directions and suggestions, the wait staff in the hotel were friendly and eager to help (our waiter for our Midsommar dinner, who happened to be from the US, did an excellent job despite having just started at the hotel that day), and the housekeeping staff had our room freshened up long before we got back from our day's sightseeing. Truly, we think that the Hotel Skeppsholmen was the reason we enjoyed our Stockholm visit so much. Having such a lovely hotel to start from and return to each day, after many great meals, sights, and day trips around Stockholm and the archipelago, put the perfect finishing touch to each day we were there. We can't say enough good things about Hotel Skeppsholmen and can't thank the staff enough for their hospitality. We plan to return to Stockholm someday and will absolutely stay at the Hotel Skeppsholmen again.

The grounds were lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are rather spartan, but in keeping with the historical origins of the building. The bathroom and its shower were large although the "sink" was bizarre -- artistic perhaps, but not really a sink since there was no bowl portion but rather a large stone (ceramic?) covering a drain in a very shallow basin. The breakfast buffet was amazing! We enjoyed our stay and if we return to Stockholm would be happy to stay again.

Super friendly and helpful staff - great English speakers. Fantastic breakfast and waitresses. Most beautiful well kept grounds with apple and pear trees they let you pick. Gorgeous island in the middle of Stockholm with a close bus stop and lots of jogging/hiking paths. Great old classic boats and vessels near hotel. Good bar and outdoor seating. Only complaint is room A/C does not work well - too hot in August even with windows open. Great shower.

Very nice hotel with top location. The staff was extremely friendly and the breakfast was a pleasure. Everything was perfectly clean, you have to make a compromise with the size of the rooms, but this is due to the old structure of the building. Modern design meets old walls - in the middle of the countryside and in the middle of the city. Great

Hotel Skeppsholmen is the incredibly charming, understated, chicly designed hotel that I ALWAYS return to when in Stockholm. The minute you travel over the fabled Skeppsbron bridge passing the Moderna Museet towards the hotel you’re transported to an idyllic, lush green garden landscape in the heart of the city center. Gorgeous surroundings with uncompromising attention to design details makes this boutique hotel a must see when traveling to Stockholm — especially if you’re interested in modern aesthetics and contemporary Swedish cuisine. If you choose to book a stylish, well appointed room for your stay or come for a scrumptious meal, you won’t be disappointed!! Swedish classics to try are the Räkmacka (a divine open-faced Shrimp sandwich) or the Köttbullar (the sublime Swedish meatballs) all washed down with a local beer or rosé, my favorite. Their lovely staff make you feel right home!!
