The location is amazing and so are the rooms, the common areas, the restaurant for the breakfast (a nice buffet, fresh juices and smoothies, an excellent à la carte menu included in the price of the breakfast), the bar, the art collection all around. But the best thing of this hotel, that will make you feel like home - or even better - is the staff. Everyone is friendly, smiley, even before the check-in they do their best to make sure that you feel comfortable and they are available - they seem really happy to do that - to provide suggestions to enjoy your time in Stockholm as much as possible. I have been in most of the top rated hotels in the city, but this, so far, has been the best. Let's see next time, because I will be back for sure.
An exceptional hotel - a beautiful old building with luxury modern decor, situated in the heart of Stockholm right next to the harbour. The staff were incredible - their kind assistance saved our trip, and meant that we could continue to travel safely during Covid. The room was a good size and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delightful, and the rooftop bar even better. We could not recommend it more highly.
The employees of Bank Hotel went above and beyond to make us feel welcome at their hotel. Room, service, atmosphere and breakfast were all grand! This was the perfect getaway/Staycation in Stockholm :)
From the moment we arrived at Bank Hotel, we were brilliantly taken care of by all of the staff there. Emma, to our mind - and perhaps unfairly to the other excellent staff members - deserves special mention. The hotel is extremely well located a short walk (about 5 - 10 mins) from Gamla Stan, and within a few minutes of tour-boat and ferry docking stations; the Royal Opera, the Royal Palace, and many other places of interest. Our room was very comfortable (perhaps the decor is a little 'beige', but don't be put off by that), the bathroom spacious, with a shower that had lashings of hot water under good pressure. The buffet breakfast was comprehensive, catering for all possible tastes, from fresh fruit, juices and delicious smoothies, to indulgent hot dishes (croque monsieur, eggs benedict and the like), to a simple plate of well-prepared scrambled eggs. The restaurant ("Bonnie's") is set in the impressive old banking hall, which creates a lovely bright atmosphere to start the day. A well-equipped gym allows one to work-off any energy left after a day of sight-seeing. And excellent cocktails mixed by superb barmen in the beautifully appointed rooftop bar "(Le Hibou"), or in the ground floor bar (the clubby and vibey "Sophie's", or the more sedate "Papillon", are a good way to start - and end - an evening. (You may need to ask for instructions as to how to operate the air conditioning system.... we didn't ask and didn't manage to work it out.)…
Great hotel with friendly service in an old bank building. Nice decor with a lot of velvet and low lighting, wood floors and high ceilings. You should note that in some of the rooms the windows point into the restaurant in an internal atrium, so if you want to open the windows to let in some morning Stockholm fresh air you should opt for one of the rooms that are street-facing. Also enjoyed the hotel rooftop bar - Hibu. Now all of that is great but here’s the real gem - the hotel restaurant serves a PHENOMENAL dish : Chanterelles on toast! O.M.G.- easily top 5 dishes I have had in my life!! Don’t miss it!
