Friendly staff, not crowded, good infrastructure and its in the basement. They charge bedding extra what I didn't like and you see then some people sleeping without that. I miss breakfast but they are working on it

I stayed for a week in July. When I booked online, I did not realize this was a basement hostel. There were windows in the eight-bed dorm I stayed in which helped to a degree, but the air did have that basement quality. I give credit to the owners for going a long way in trying to mitigate that musty... More

Loved this hostel the moment I walked in. Cosy and great design. Very central, close to the tube, cheaper area than the old town (Gamla Stan). Receptionists were all extremely helpful and friendly. Great kitchen, free pasta and tea/coffee. Had a private room which was very quiet even though right near the kitchen, thick doors offered total soundproofing from the... More

We found a good room rate over the internet, so we booked a small two-bed room with no windows for five nights. The hostel staff was most accommodating during our pre-arrival as we advised the hostel directly that we would be arriving late, so they automatically leave bedding supplies (50SEK/person) in your room. I had also requested towels (20SEK/person), which... More

Good reception and receptionist. Easy check-in although arrived early. Able to leave bags securely whilst room made ready. Private 'funky' room with excellent en-suite bathroom. Although the room had no window there was no feeling of claustrophobia. Whilst we didn't use it, the kitchen looked fresh and modern and a good meeting place for younger travellers. Although mainly underground the... More

More

I was at Skanstulls Hostel in May 2015. I stayed in a 8 beds dorm for three nights. Beds were comfortable and solid. Front desk people were helpful and the location is perfect to be going around the city and visit. The city itself is just amazing!!

The WiFi was insane (80/80), the location was ideal (3 minute walk to the metro station, which leads to the centrum (T-Centralen). We liked our own private bathroom, although you will be charged extra for that. The staff was friendly as well. Although you have the option to bring your own sheets, and pillows, I would recommend to bring your... More

I stayed here for a few nights during my European vacation. The hostel is very clean, and the location to easily get around the city. Considering the high price, I thought it was a bit strange that I had to pay extra for linens. The staff were great, and I am sure it was the best deal i could have... More

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighborhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
