Nice hotel with a lot of rumors speaking of great restaurant. Had the sea bass, reindeer, and shrimp pasta. Sea bass what’s made to satisfactory, greens ok, raw red onion, generally ok but nothing to showcase. Reindeer seared perfectly, mash was good but slightly cold, great mushroom sauce with lingonberry. Pasta with shrimps, chili, garlic, this is a basic dish anyone should master blindfolded, however not this one. Shrimps either undercooked or thrown in frozen. Good chili sting, and garlic present but missing salt, and several dimensions, lastly killed by either frozen parsley or parsley that has been let to cook to long. Service was good, not super fast but satisfactory, wines suggested to the food was really well paired. This place lies perfectly for a great restaurant however I think they must step up the game.

Hotel Södra Berget in Sundsvall is a perfect place for a 24h staycation with spa! Located at the top of a small mountain, the view over the city is stunning and the surroundings are very quiet. We booked Thurday-Friday which was a good choice: not too much people and really calming atmosphere. The restaurante was nice and had veggie options. Though, the menu was pretty small - but the wine list longer. The breakfast buffet was huge and I can't think of anything that wasn't on the buffé! The spa was one of the best I've been to - ever! Thanks to the location on two floors, it never felt crowded or "too intense". The bar and the relaxing rooms was separate, which was nice. And again - the views, the views, the views... Relaxing in the bubble pool with the whole city glittering downhill, beautiful!

We ( 35 and 39) decided on a 3-4 days get away combining work and lessure at this Spa hotel. We were informed on arriving day ( saturday) that the internet is down and it “may” get fixed or looked at on Monday. Basically all of our work meetings and video conference calls are affected. The activity clube called Strike + Restaurant 180 both close at 10 PM, good time if you are retired and want to go to bed early! We ordered a cocktail from the menue called Vodka Passion, the bartender said she doesnt know how to make it...! Service doesnt mean anything in Sweden!

This hotel is located at the top of the mountain at the south side of Sundsvall. It is a bit tricky to get there, easiest us by car or local bus. Get a reservation before arrival is to recommend. Free parking, nice rooms and friendly staff.

Well the view is great, but one is stuck at the hotel and need to eat there unless taking a taxi downtown. And as my other review, dining aint an option.... Rooms are ok, the bed was really comfy. Clean rooms upon arrival but day two it was fixed up but obvious things that was left on the floor in the morning, was still there after cleaning. Room for improvement there. The rooms are not very quiet, one can easily hear ones neighbour, just hope for a quiet one. Breakfast is ok, you wont leave brekkie with a half full belly. However service in the hotel is really poor, I ordered a beer in the bar (why dont they have beer on tap???) and got one out of the fridge, waiter opened it and handed the bottle over. To my surprise it was warm, room temperature warm. I complained and got the explenation that they have just put them into the fridge. Common, service minded staff would do that when they close up the bar for the night, not when people start to arrive. All in all, I wont stay there again, just not worth the buck.
