My girlfriend and me booked the pure snowmobile tour of 38 km, in the end it was 50 km, Armando drove with us in a real adrenaline way around and over the lakes. Pick-up from hotel was in time, warm clothes were supplied. In the beginning there were many people but also many snowmobiles. An Introduction was given and then we started! After two stops at Sami village and Ice Hotel it was only 3 snowmobiles left, we then also did some deep snow driving.
Me and four friends (all of us students studying in Stockholm) booked two nights at Camp Alta for a quick trip up north. Staying at the camp was the perfect experience. The cabin was adorable and we cooked all our own food. It's very reasonably priced, especially considering how many amenities they have available for free (we had a great time using the private sauna). We booked two tours with them which gave us a discount on the cabin and free transport to and from the airport. Armando was a great tour guide. He made sure we had a great experience. The owners were super nice and accommodating. My favorite experience was standing on the frozen lake watching the Northern Lights dance overhead. Camp Alta was an amazing place to watch the night sky. A once in a lifetime trip.
Awesome time spent at the camp. Warm rooms, comfy bed, wonderful manager to help with whatever you need. The dog sledge tour is a must if you are there and the snowmobile trip is also a great fun! It is a very special place in a beautiful location.
Staying in Kiruna at Camp Alta is a must do! The camp itself is really lovely with all the small houses and the see directly in front if it. But: If you book with booking.com (or tripadvisor i think) you have to pay for the pick up service to and from the camp. We spent 2 nights in a cute cabin for 2-4 people (4A) with its own bathroom and little kitchen. There you’ll find everything what you need (except an oven). The cleanliness could be improved with a cleaning service for a small extra charge (the cabins are always cleaned by the guests themselves). Unfortunately we hadn’t the chance to do the Abisko Northern Lights Tour or to take great pictures there because the guide responsible for the tour isn’t working at the camp anymore. However we saw some smaller northern lights next to the camp. We did the dog sledding tour, which was an incredible experience! Moreover, Armando, the snowmobile tourguide, does a great tour. You can get an adrenaline rush if you want and he does his best that you have a great experience ;) the guides of the tours are all really friendly and motivated! Also the renting of cross country skies (15€/pair) was really funny. Furthermore, the saunas on the camp are really cool to heat up after a long day in the nature :) It was a short, but unforgettable stay in kiruna at camp alta. Thank you so much!…
Armando is the best tour guide ever, we’d really had a good time in Kiruna and had a lot of fun during the snowmobile tour! Armando helped us a lot and took a lot of photos for us! Super recommend!!!!! The best holiday ever!!!
