What an absolute diamond of a place. We travelled from Wales to Windy Harbour in May for my 20th Birthday, which was a treat to Alton Towers. In our group was my Sister (7), my Cousins (16,17) their boyfriends (18, 19), My Aunty and Uncle (38, 43) and my Father (40) - a bit of a mixed bag of ages... More

We booked this cottage for 2 nights to spend the weekend at Alton Towers. It is a small cottage with twin beds down stairs, mattresses upstairs on the mezzanine. I went there with my husband and 2 daughter. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a wet room. It's a concerted barn with original beams. It's lovely. We had stayed... More

Just returned from a fabulous short break where we stayed in Peacock Cottage. As 2 families with 2 adults and 5 children and a dog, it was a great cottage with room enough for everyone to sleep surrounded by stunning countryside. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and if it wasn't there (or I failed to find... More

We had a really lovely few days at Windy Arbour.Fab place too stay. Stopped in Dove Cottage with my husband and 2 small children and was just right size for us all. Ideal base for Alton Towers etc. Would recommend to anyone to stay there for a break. Many thanks!

This was our second stay at Windy Arbour, it’s a great base if doing a couple of days at Alton Towers. Situated in Denston, it’s a 5 minute drive to the neighboring village of Alton and a further 5 minutes out to the theme park. Uttoxeter is a 10 minute drive in the other direction with lots of restaurants, a... More

I love Windy Arbour for many, many reasons: the houses are spotless and beautifully maintained; the location is amazing; and the owners are friendly. This was our third visit. We will be back. Thank you.

Myself and my other half stayed here for 5 nights last week and I would certainly give a massive thumbs up to the place! We stayed in the Dove Cottage which was a perfectly sized room for the two of us. Everything was clean and the decoration was lovely with everything we could have needed for a self catering trip.... We stayed for two nights in Peacock cottage. The location is perfect for Alton Towers, only a ten minute drive. The cottage itself is very well equipped. It has a double and a twin room (bunk beds) on the ground floor and a kitchen diner on the first with a sofa bed. There is also a small area in the... More

A lovely self-catering holiday in the Dove Cottage. Perfect for a couple, can imagine it would be snug for four adults. All the facilities you expect and a perfect, quiet location. Lots of great eateries nearby, very close to Peak District and Alton Towers. Very friendly hosts.

We planned an Alton Towers trip and didn't fancy a chain hotel/B&B. We found Windy Nook and thought we'd give it a try. Location is perfect, ten minutes to the park. Gill was great very accommodating , excellent communication from start to finish. We will be back
