Disliked · very rude and aggressive staff at the casino, the casino doorman constantly bad mouthing and cursing foreigner guests in Turkish language not knowing some might know Turkish. he refused to give me his name (he said im al pacino) spa manager (russian lady, she doesn’t have name tag) is a very rude lady, yelling at people and staff, bad attitude and not welcoming. however merve at the spa is a gem who turned over our experience. it took us 5 days to find an English speaking guest relation although she was helpful. the sunset restaurant is buffet with not impressive quality food, your best options are tasteless pasta at dinner and omelette in the morning. rest of the options are either stale, too dry or floating on oil. you can have all you eat, however they charge you 5x for beverages! the restaurant hostess was seeing us everyday and yet asking for our names and room number til the last day every day, she chased and stopped us in front of other guest in the middle of our meal to make sure we’re allowed to eat there. front desk staff are helpful, bell mans are responsive and hardworking

We visited in June as a family of five (2 adults 3 children)
The hotel itself is immaculate, our room was well maintained and cleaned and there are endless facilities with restaurants, water parks and the beach is wonderful. The only thing I’m really sad to say that let the experience down was some of the staff.

It is important to say that the staff in the sunset dining restaurant (which is where the majority of evening and breakfast all inclusive meals are served) was phenomenal. you are served immediately, they are incredibly attentive towards families with small children getting them high chairs etc and nothing is too much to ask. Sadly this service doesn’t extend to the rest of the hotel which I found odd.

At the water park area you buy ice creams and drinks at the bar but then you have to go to a separate section to pay where you are simply ignored. on several occasions I saw many guests just walk away in frustration. consequently the hotel will have lost money. in addition to this I’m sad to say you had to repeatedly ask if you could order food or drinks. As this isn’t a free service and included in the all inclusive package I found it strange how the service was so lacking as you would expect them to be more keen to generate further income.

I know people have mentioned the language barrier and whilst Turkish is the primary language and broken English is attempted I just used Google translate throughout my stay and it worked very very well. I just sadly felt the staff simply didn’t want to serve people or even want to be there.

To compensate for the above it’s important to mention the gardens in the hotel are spectacular and impressively maintained by the garden staff who clearly take pride in their work.

Have a look at incentivizing the staff in the pool side restaurants and reception hotel restaurant to be more polite and it really will be a five star hotel

Excellent water park no entry fee, slides well maintained with several uniformed life guards who were attentive to what was go in on.

We had a lovely vey reasonably priced lunch with friendly service and a sea view. Nice ambient music.

Clean and tidy sandy beach with sun beds, pretty beach, good selection of ice creams, kids play areas, well signposted amenities.

Lots of managers in suits walking around very friendly place.

We were put off by other reviews but today was low season and so lots of staff to help.

We will go again.

If you are looking for a quality experience that you can just chill and enjoy, trust me this is the worst resort. Have been to many resorts all around the world and this is our second time in Acapulco but it’s sad to see that the quality of service decreased drastically. The staff can’t speak any other languages rather than their own (most of them are from Russian speaking countries) and it seems like they don’t do their job willingly. We just had a terrible experience couple of mins ago and we’re still shaking with anger. We ordered 2 glasses of Baileys, we paid the tab and stood waiting at the bar. My parents are both over 65 and were really tired so just wanted to take our drinks and go to our room. However after we ordered, the Kirghiz lady at the bar threw one baileys into the glass and left the glass there and left. The glass stayed there on its own for around 10 mins and we were also waiting. So I asked the lady at the cash desk if we can get it, she brought it and we reminded her that we ordered and paid for 2. Then she turnt to the lady who poured it, and that other lady with an unexpected attitude yelled like “you only said 1 to me” and left the whole bar. Then no one did anything, there were at least 3 other bartenders, and the only thing that they needed to do is just pouring the drink into a glass and toss an ice. We waited 10 more mins standing there, and finally I asked again if we will be able to get the second one and the lady at the cash desk said that it’s not about her, it’s about the bartenders. Finally I offered that I could pour it since it’s simply one basic drink. Then the Kirghiz lady came back, poured another drink in a glass and came to us and hit the glass on the counter in front of us saying “there!!”. This is not ok wherever you go, whatever job you’re doing. Especially not in service sector. We are the clients who paid for the service, forget about it, you don’t show that kind of an attitude to anyone. We wouldn’t mind waiting or anything if she - or anyone at the bar- came to us and said anything like “sorry for keeping you waiting, it’ll take a while”. Or just even handing the glass in a friendly way.

Another thing I witnessed in the ladies room at the restaurant was that one janitor lady talking on the phone with someone and saying “this hotel is full of s*it, the all the clients are cheap ones” (sorry for the bad words but that’s what I heard). It’s a free country, there’s freedom of expression but not when you’re still on duty!! Shortly, the staff here is making the experience worst and we are definitely not coming back to this hotel and don’t recommend to anyone!!

My husband and I went to this hotel with friends for 3 nights. I think when you can't even find a parking space when you arrive that's a sign of bad things to come, and don't expect the staff to help you find one as throughout our stay, the staff were very unhelpful and just rude.

Check in was manic, people everywhere and luggage all over the place, we were given our room key but not informed which building we were in, always helpful. Our room was clean(ish) but had a smashed mirror in the bedroom, the power went out twice as well during our stay. There is no iron and ironing board in the room so make sure you iron everything before you get there. Trying to get a drink at the pool is far more complicated than it should be, you have to queue to pay, then queue to order, if you can speak Turkish though this rule doesn't apply.

The saving grace of this hotel is the facilities, infinity pool for over 17s with spaced out loungers and a drinks service, a bigger pool with sides however you are packed in like sardines so get used to touching the person next to you when sunbathing. If you want a bed for the night and an ok pool then this place is fine, but it is by no means a 5* and the staff are more likely to ignore you than actually serve you a drink.

Not overly impressed with the flights as had to fly to Istanbul then on to Eurcan Airport - arrived at 3:00 am. Got up the next day for 10:30 am with the rep and was just tired for the rest of the day! Not too impressed either with the idea that there is no Tea & Coffee making facilities in the room and to be told that any food found in the room would be confiscated! Only went Half Board so had to pay for lunch with them. There is a mini bus that takes you into main town but again had to pay there -5 TL and back again 5 TL - cleanliness and food selection was excellent but just feel they cater only for Turkish market

Me and my partner returned from overseas back home to North Cyprus. Due to covid we had to quarantine for 10 days in this hotel. This is my 3rd time quarantining in a hotel in Cyprus as I go overseas often. I'm not going to complain about stuff like no daily bedsheets and slow internet as it is expected for those problems to arise due to the hotel being used as a quarantine hotel. But what I will complain about is that during the 10 day stay we got fed 3 times a day. that's 30 meals in 10 days. Out of 30 meals maybe 5-6 of them where different. The meals where on a 3-4 day rotation and we where being fed the same thing over and over again. Rice, pasta, rice, pasta every single day. There was only 2 meals in which they gave us something different, which was roasted potatoes (quite nice actually). Other then that in the other hotels I stayed in if you called reception and said you don't want to eat the same food over and over again. They did something nice and changed something for that day. Comp chips or maybe a slice of pizza. but when I called reception and said that my partner has a sensitive stomach and can't eat too much starch they told me that she should eat the spinach instead then. Mind you the spinach was also one of the permanent rotation foods. Other then that as I am a smoker I require lighters. The lighter I did have on me broke and I called reception to send a lighter with the next meal they send up. It took me 2 days and around 5 phone calls to actually recieve my lighter, which at the end was brought by the sweet lady that worked housekeeping when I saw her in the corridor and asked her personally. The ladies working reception just kept telling me they'd look for one and never call back telling me they found or didn't find one. On the 4th and 5th phone calls they said they simply didn't have lighters or matches in the hotel which is the biggest lie ive ever heard since there is a Acapulco Casino in the hotel which has thousands of free lighters, cigarettes and matches. Wasn't a problem anyway since I just stuck aluminum foil and batteries into the sockets to create fire to light my cigarette. Kind of hoped in burning the circuits as a middle finger to the useless front desk staff. Even though it is a mandatory quarantine and my expectations are low we are still paying clients and you have a image to maintain.

Stayed there for 6 nights, rooms are old and dirty, general cleaning was not done In years. Bathrooms full of calc and mold, mirrors never clean even if u ask for a special cleaning. Lightning in the rooms very bad, always u fell like it’s dark, linen old and not ironed as well as the towels. Service very questionable, mini bar service in the morning very rude, when refilling the water coming inside the room after first knocking without waiting for an answer of guests. Room service unable to deliver guests requests, open buffet very low quality with limited and poor choice of dishes!

How this place gets away with advertising as a 5* resort is beyond me. The room I stayed in had no proper AC and despite calling to get it fixed twice, the tech came in and fiddled with the control and made no difference. When I went down to speak to someone about it the guy couldn't care less and just said they can't do anything about it; bear in mind this was during a crazy heatwave across Europe! No real amenities in the room, have to pay to get your clothes ironed as there isn't one.

Wifi drops constantly & the day isn't complete without at least 4-6 power cuts. Also had issues with hot water in the shower.

The food is just recycled every day, the customer service at the cafes is non existent. You have to constantly call reception if you want something (eg water bottles to your room.) Housekeeping come at ridiculous times and do a very basic job, had to chase them mutiple times for toilet paper & towels.

Would absolutely not recommend staying here.

I came to this hotel during August 2022 with my mother and two children. The first week was exciting as we were getting to know the facilities and services within the hotel, however soon after what became an exciting family holiday became a holiday from hell.

We noticed the cleanliness of the hotel was very poor. One of our room cleaners wiped both the toilet then the sink with the same cloth therefore we had to buy cleaning products to wipe the surfaces down after the cleaner had come and gone.
The waiters at the sunset restaurant are very rude and dismissive. They treat the black staff like absolute rubbish at one point I had to step in and defend the young black brother against one of the Turkish waiters who was swearing at the young boy in Turkish, as the young boy couldn’t understand him but I could as I am half Turkish and Caribbean. One of the Turkish waiters did not want to clean the table where we wanted to sit have dinner so he clicked his finger and demand the black waiter to come and wipe the table. My mother immediately assertively told the waiter in Turkish that what he has done is out of order and complained to the manager. The mangers are really good and resolved the issue straight away.

My mother refused to go in any of the pools and only went into the sea but both me and the children went to the pools and boy that was the biggest mistake we made. Both myself and children got very ill and ended up in hospital on a drip. We had caught a dangerous bug from the pool and had severe diarrhoea and vomiting. My daughter vomited on the hotel room carpet and they came and hoovered it up and left. The whole room smelt like vomit. I would walk past in the evening and heard other people vomiting in the pine court 2 bathroom. the day we were leaving another little girl vomited on the floor directly outside the main reception and they left it there for a whole two hours only to come and wipe it up with the brown beach towels and left. There was no mopping, no bleach absolutely nothing.
The layout of the hotel is very nice but staff I found were very slack with both the hygiene and running of the hotel. Also there are a lot of mosquitoes in this hotel.

I would never come back to this hotel!!!

Dear guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience on Tripadvisor. At the Acapulco we have strict control and hygiene policies in place, requirements of which are regulated by HACCP AND ISO. We employ professional university certified staff in Quality Control who have several years experience and on a daily basis they make the necessary checks. Pool samples are taken daily and sent to a laboratory, we also have visits from the local ministry who takes samples. So we are sure that your infection is from somewhere else because our tests showed that our resort is clear. We are deeply sorry that you became ill during your holiday. It is a well known fact that this type of illness can occur on holiday, this can be caused by the Sun and changes in Diet. It is a bacterial infection and can be spread by contact with other people. I am also concerned to hear that staff were rude and unfriendly and we will discuss this matter on our next management meeting as we are constantly trying to improve our services, to ensure that all staff are friendly and welcoming to guests. We would be very happy to see you next year in our hotel in healthier days. Best regards
