The hotel is in a great location. If you choose a standard room, be aware that they are very small. Also we had a package with dinner-buffet which was a little disappointing. Same food both days. Go to Roskilde for dinner instead. Breakfast was great. There were no facilities for making coffee/tea in the rooms which would be expected nowadyas. Other than that it is a fine hotel, and the view from the terraces are very nice.
Stayed two nights in July; arrived in the middle of a wedding reception so had to walk the long way round to find our room; had hoped for a room with a view, but alas, didn’t happen. Otherwise an excellent choice - food very good, staff everywhere very helpful and smiling.
I stayed at the hotel with my partner for one night, as part of Comwell’s summer offer. We stayed in a “Superior” room, which offered plenty of space, was clean, and well-decorated. However during dinner service, the staff was horribly unenthusiastic, loitering around in the kitchen, and generally did not attempt to keep an eye out for patrons who wanted to order. We waited 20 minutes for a waiter, even though there were 4-5 on duty (granted, one seemed like a busboy) and the restaurant was less than half full. The waiters moved with no sense of urgency and were unapologetic to the fact that most of the tables exchanged comments about the level of service. Dinner was a buffet, even though our reservation said 3 course meal. On a positive note, the breakfast buffet was good and contained a decent range of items to choose from. For anyone staying here, I recommend going into Roskilde for dinner.…
The hotel is built in an extraordinary style, half enterred in the grounds. Our room was lofty, spacious and bright, despite being on the ground floor. The furnitures are decent scandinavian. There are several patios whre you can sit and sip a drink from the bar (but consumption is not compulsory) or simply have a chat. The restaurant has its own patio and is - admittedly - a little bit cavernous. The hotel is located at the edge of Roskilde, so you need a car or should take the bus to reach the center of town with its cathedral.
Been there for one night on a business event and it was great. Conference rooms are big enough, catering was very good, lunch and dinner as well. Rooms are large, modern decorated, bathrooms are good size as well. Breakfast is good. Staff was very kind. Some of the rooms have great view over the water.
