We were looking for a small hotel in Copenhagen for a 3 day stay. Booked a Standard Plus Double, garden side view. WiFi free. Breakfast (organic) was optional. The Guldsmeden is across the street from a local bus stop, a quick ride from most anywhere in Copenhagen. The Kobenhaven train station and Tivoli Gardens are only a 20 minute walk.... More

We stayed here for three nights in May. The hotel is centrally-located and thus you may have trouble getting a cabbie to take you from the train station, in which case get a number 6A bus which will drop you very close to the front door (the bus stops literally at the front door on the return route to the... This is a really good hotel. I booked a single room, but it was a decent size with a very comfortable, double four poster bed. It exceeded my expectations. I was on the road side but wasn't bothered by noise and the room was very clean. The bathroom was on the compact side, but I didn't travel to Copenhagen to... More

Excellent breakfast, catering well for gluten free as long as they know in advance. Good gluten free bread, made a change! Hotel owner not the friendliest but other staff were, excellent eco products.

we had a large room with a four poster and a balcony. it looked down over the hotel's small garden and was quiet. The bed was high and very comfortable the bedding quite special. The owner welcomed us and gave us plenty of information to help us plan our stay. We left our luggage there for two hours after check... More

Great hotel Beautiful decor throughout Comfortable room and bed Bus stop at front door goes straight down the street to Tivoli so easy. Good breakfast beautifully displayed. Owner not friendly or welcoming some of his staff are better but not all. Staircase to elevator. As most travelers arrive to hotels weary, help with our carry on luggage would have been... More

We were back in what feels like a home from home after staying there regularly through the years. As ever it is well run, often by family members of owner at the reception desk, rooms are updated with new decorations and pictures, so always something to note. The warm welcome and friendly service makes such a difference.

Very cute little hotel with lovely breakfast. Convenient for transportation. We felt the value was good for a very expensive city like Copenhagen. Very friendly staff that were really helpful with all kinds of good information.

Decent hotel a little removed from the main tourists sites, but definitely walkable to all the main sites, close to grocery stores etc. Very friendly and professional staff throughout our stay. Room was a good size but bathroom was awful. We've travelled through Europe many times so I understand that quality/standard of bathrooms is highly variable, but this was ridiculous.... More

The atmosphere of the hotel is really nice and cozy. Very european. Free wifi and complementary banana and apple are plus. Also water pressure is really strong enough. I really enjoyed staying the hotels and strongly recommend you to stay.

Staying in Outer Vesterbro

Neighborhood Profile
Outer Vesterbro
Home to a large shopping center and cinema complex named Fisketorvet (Fish Square), this area includes numerous shops, several restaurant as well a state of the art IMAX theatre. This shopping center is situated at the harbor front, and as Copenhagen is one of the cycling capitals of the world, also sports two of the most interesting bridges in the city: one for cyclists only called Cykelslangen (“Cycle Snake”) which weaves through the modern buildings around Fisketorvet. The other, Bryggebroen, which is both for pedestrians and cyclists, takes you across the harbor to Islands Brygge.
