Cute little hotel in the heart of Copenhagen. Our room was super small, so fellow Americans, temper your expectations. This ain't the Best Western, and that's a good thing because who wants that in the middle of Denmark? The hotel is well kept and very well preserved. The breakfast offered a ton of options and was delicious. The staff was... More

We spent two days at the Hotel Alexandra and had a fabulous stay. The hotel was lovely, very clean and welcoming. Our room was decorated in a 60s style and overlooked the road. It had all what you need for a stay and the beds were very comfy. The staff at the hotel were very nice and helpful and made... More

A long weekend spent in the fantastic city of Copenhagen was made even better by our stay here. The stylish 60s era interior felt authentic and as Mad Men lovers, the honesty bar was a real treat. Fantastic selection of drinks and music. The night spent sipping wine and reading through the wonderful selection of books as it rained outside... More

We had a wonderful experience staying at this beautifully furnished hotel. Although we had a slight check-in problem with our Expedia reservation, Eden at the front desk was very helpful and luckily there was one room left which she happily gave us. There is even free wine after 9pm! The location is quite convenient and I highly recommend this hotel... More

A wonderfully run and really comfortable hotel right in the centre of Copenhagen. The rooms are all of an individual designer and they are comfortable, clean and spacious. We stayed one night. the breakfast was ample but no hot food. And we didn't eat in the restaurant. All in all a great place to stay

We were lucky enough to get one of the rooms with furniture and fittings by a Danish designer, and a corner window. Lovely ambiance. Spacious. Noise from the boulevard could be shut out with the double-glazed windows and glad it wasn't any hotter. The bathroom not perfect and ages to change from hot to cold water (why on earth do... More

We loved this hotel. The location was a short walk from the Metro station. The whole hotel had style and furnished from the 1960s but with class. The room we stayed in was lovely and has Orla Kiely products to use in the shower and a bath. The staff were very friendly and had a lot of knowledge about the... More

Nicely appointed small room. Mine was on the side street, 4th floor. Lovely view of old building and church tower on main street. Little street noise. Windows really block out noise but you may need to open for ventilation. No room service or coffee amenities, but ample charm. Nice front desk. Top rated for environmental practices. Overheard concert from Tivoli... More

I booked on short notice and this was the first place that had availability after a few other tries. Overall I was pretty pleased - no frills but a fairly pleasant place to say, and my room was adequate, if slightly on the small side. Not exactly situated in the most beautiful part of town but it's easy walking distance... More

Just stayed at HA for two nights in the 'Arne Jacobsen' room (223). Loved the style, original pieces and layout of the room - great for those who appreciate Danish design (as we do.) Housekeeping was poor, however, as the room didn't get cleaned during our stay, even though we politely reminded reception when we returned mid afternoon (requesting clean... More

Neighborhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
2013 Was the year where we brought half of our rooms back to the 50's. We decorated the rooms with furniture, wallpapers, lamps and textiles like the design loving Danes did in the 50's. 2014 Is the time for moving ahead. In early March we ended the renovation of the last rooms and they will be decorated just as the design loving Danes did it in the 60's. Hotel Alexandra is perfectly situated right next to Europe's largest pedestrian street and the Tivoli Gardens. ... more   less
