Probably the only spot on Earth where you can sit in, rest in, sleep in and admire so many pieces of Danish mid-century vintage furniture. Hotel Alexandra is a small, authentic, boutique hotel in Copenhagen - just around the corner of the City Hall Square, the Latin Quarter, the main shopping area and Tivoli Garden. Hotel Alexandra has over the past years collected a large collection of the world famous Danish mid-century vintage furniture and decorated the rooms with them. The rooms also have textiles, wallpapers and other gems that take you back in time to experience living like the design loving Danes did it in the 50’s and 60’s. As soon as you step into the Hotel Alexandra, you step into a time bubble – you can relax in the lobby, where during evening hours you can put on your favourite vinyl record from our selection, enjoy a free glass of wine and take a moment to take a closer look at one of our many designer books from our lobby library, all the while being surrounded by the finest Danish designer furniture.

Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

It was a pleasant stay in hotel Alexandra where the price was in compliance with our budget(midrange). The staff was professional as well as friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the healthy breakfast with a lot of fresh food including some Danish specialities. There was a particular attention to food hygiene. Our cosy twin room was despite the cold weather warm with excellent beds.Everything was very clean.Nevertheless we missed space for storing personal luggage. It was pretty quite despite the crowdy avenue. The underground as starting point for visiting interesting places ,was nearby. The hotel had also a restaurant with traditional dishes. It was an advantage when the time was limited.

How happy was I to find that a well-known jazz pianist that my husband wanted to see was playing in Copenhagen during the school half-term because it gave me the excuse to return again to the Hotel Alexandra. We stayed there this time last year for the first time and were enchanted by the hotel, staff, service, food so it was a no-brainer that we would stay again on this trip. We brought two of our children (13 and 18) with us and expected that they would not quite 'get' the hotel concept - no pool or spa for starters! But to my surprise, they loved it. How could you not? It's one of those places that just makes you smile. It's not just the 50s design (which of course is delightful and so tasteful) but it's the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that really makes it so special. Every one of the staff at the reception are so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, there's a coffee machine in reception if you fancy a cuppa at any time, apples in a bowl on the reception desk if you are feeling peckish. It's stylish, pristine, so comfortable (lobby seating areas and beds!) and the location is perfect close to the railway station, Tivoli, City Hall and the main shopping district. It's a glorious little haven to return to after a day sightseeing. A special place. That's twice we've stayed now. I expect to return again and again.

Dear Roisin, Thank you very much for your kind feedback, it's much appreciated and highly valued. I am absolutely thrilled to hear you have returned and we once again met your expectations. Furthermore it pleases me to hear you could bring your children and they enjoyed the hotel as well, despite the lack of children activities, but perhaps they got a taste for midcentury danish design and they can start to appreciate these fine pieces of furniture. Once again, thank you very much for the praising word, I will make sure to pass them on to my fellow colleagues. We hope to welcome you again in the near future. Until then, have an amazing day. Thank you very much. Best Regards Nicolai Hotel Alexandra

You will feel so great. Amazing welcome from the staff. The hotel location is amazing for a stay in Copenhagen downtown. So easy walking from the central station, and more difficult with the car. But thy have small parking behind the hotel. If you have chance try to get one of the corner room with the special designers room, you will love it...

We had a wonderful stay from start to finish. We arrived early from a long haul flight and were thrilled to be allowed straight into our room. Our twin room on the 4th floor overlooked an inner courtyard so was very quiet for sleeping. It was spacious with very comfortable beds and we loved the 60s furniture. Fantastic shower and an excellent European selection for breakfast. We enjoyed the hotel bikes on our 2nd day, a really great way to get around Copenhagen and keep warm on a chilly day. What really makes this hotel special is the front desk staff who gave us such a warm welcome and were so pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. We will be recommending this hotel and would return in a heartbeat.
