It is easy to get to the hotel from the airport, take the metro line 2 to Kongens Nytory and the hotel is 5 mins walk from the metro station. The fee is 36 kroner PP each way. Location - The hotel is perfectly placed, within easy walking distance of all of Copenhagen's main attractions. Luckily the city is quite flat so walking distances is not an issue. Appearance - The hotel is quite old so its not surprising to say that some of the areas could do with a lick of paint or a little attention, but nothing that would put me off staying here again. Staff service - A mixed bag ( see later) most of the staff were fine and the middle aged lady that booked us in could not have been nicer, she made our room available to us before time, she pointed out maps and places of interest, showed us how to log on to the wife and pointed out where tea and coffee were available 24 hours a day. When our TV broke down on the second day of our stay, there was no hesitation and we were offered a change of room immediately. Breakfast - The only food the hotel offers is breakfast and its pretty good. The hotel offers scrambled egg, sausages, fruits, pastries, yogurts cereals , bread, cheese , hams and of course tea and coffee. Rooms - The rooms are more or less divided into two, which means the sleeping areas are on the small side and the bathrooms are huge. We were aware of this when we booked and planned on using the room as a base only, so was never an issue for us. All rooms have a colour TV, with a couple of English speaking channels. There is no safe, but deposit boxes are available at reception. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the room but as I mentioned earlier, they are available in the breakfast room 24 hours a day. The cost of the rooms were very competitive when compared with others in the area. Bathrooms - Very large with a powerful and hot shower, hairdryers are provides as are sachets of shower gel and shampoos but I would recommend guest bring their own. Wifi - This is free and easy to log on. Once logged on the signal is strong and powerful. E Mails - I did contact the hotel prior to our visit to request a quiet room and whilst I did not get a specific reply, I was given a room overlooking the back of the hotel which was lovely and quiet. The Misunderstanding- In the room there is a list of rules and regulations which make no mention of sandwiches. So at breakfast one day we made a sandwich each to have for a lunch ( just two slices of bread and a bit of Cheese) We did not try to hide this but when we were spotted by and elderly female member of staff ( aged between 60-70) she went berserk. We apologised immediately but she went on and on and we offered to pay for the food which she accepted but would not let it go. Her behaviour was well over the top and she clearly has no concept of repeat business and the attitude of this woman really spoilt our whole trip. Summary- We booked this hotel based on past reviews and its location. We were aware it is a 3 star hotel so were not expecting the Ritz and until the sandwich issue we were having a great time, but being berated by a naughty child did take the shine off the visit. But we will probably stay here again when we visit next.

Returned a week ago from a 5 day stay at this hotel, it was easy to find and it was only a 10 min walk from the metro station ,or 3 mins by electric scooter if you prefer. The rooms are small but have a large bathroom and they are well heated. No equipment in the room for tea or coffee making but we were told on arrival that tea and coffee are available in the dining room 24/7 which was nice. Breakfast consisted of scrambled egg, sausages, boiled eggs, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, cakes, meats & cheeses, toast and hot & cold drinks all as a buffet and we were very happy with it. The location is fabulous as it's only a 10 minute walk to the Nyhavn and the shopping areas. There are restaurants and bars nearby also. I wouldn't say it's a modern hotel but I would have no problem in booking here again as the substantial breakfast and location are worth the price alone.

Stayed here recently. Rooms are small however probably the only negative thing to say. Rooms are clean, warm and everything works. There’s free coffee most of the day. The Free Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it. There are a few restaurants nearby but to be fair they’re mostly fish restaurants. The hotel is across the river from Christianhuan (not sure of spelling). However quite well situated. For a short break hotel was completely adequate.

When I read the reviews before going to Copenhagen, I was a little worried but all I would say is each to their own and make up your own mind. This hotel is basic but the staff and location make up for this. It’s central to everything you need and a 5 minute walk from the metro. Since there is so much to see in Copenhagen, it’s really just a place to relax and rest your legs!! It’s one minute from the river and you can get around by walking or on a bike. Great stay, thank you

I’ll start with the good things: great location (close to the centre, 5 minutes from the metro), friendly staff and good breakfast (even with a gluten intolerance, I had plenty to eat). But, the not so good things...it felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The room was very basic, the bed wasn’t comfortable (the duvet and pillow were terrible) and the bathroom had no ventilation, meaning there was a constant vague sewage smell in the whole room and towels never dried. The TV had five channels - four of them were mostly in Danish. The hotel was fairly reasonably priced by Copenhagen standards, but expensive for most of the rest of the world. I wouldn’t rush to return.
