Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

We stayed here in March just as the cornovirus rules were impacting. It was a strange time to stay as hotels were getting lots of cancellations & attractions were closing due to new rules. Staff were very helpful & eager to make our stay as good as possible. Our room was simply decorated & comfortable. Breakfast was a delicious spread with lots of healthy options. Loved the apple & ginger shots. Location on waterfront & central so easy to walk to most landmarks & attractions.

My husband snores loudly, so we chose a superior family room at this hotel. We had 2 identical superior rooms with a connecting door between, an ideal solution . Having 2 rooms gave us plenty of space and the rooms are very comfortable with a decent desk area and very comfy beds. Breakfast was fabulous! I like a healthy breakfast and the oatmeal with apples, cinnamon and cranberries was a delight. and the cranberry and ginger shots were heaven! This was my fave breakfast of our entire Scandi trip. Location is good, within walking distance to the metro line which goes to/from the airport. Nyhavn is only minutes away. We walked everywhere in Copenhagen. Also just across the road there are small built in trampolines in the walking area next to the canal, a great way to warm up and have some fun on a chilly morning. All staff were pleasant and helpful. This is a very good choice in Copenhagen.

We arrived 4 hours before check-in and they gave us access to a room, with balcony, earlier than expected and as a surprise to both of us! Compact room with balcony view to sit and have a coffee doing a crossword in the morning getting a glimpse of the canal. You are 4 minutes walk from Nvhavn, 15 minutes from Christiania, 5 minutes from the metro and it took us 30 minutes door to door using metro to reach the airport. The hotel also after checking out at 11am had allowed us to store our luggage on their premises until 8pm! I might suggest only a breakfast we would be willing to purchase could make this perfect, I think £20+ felt a bit inaccessible.
