Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty.

I stayed here over 2 different stays. Once for 2 weeks in August and once in October for 3 nights. The rooms overlook the marina (some of the rooms) and are very cozy and convenient. The rooms are a tad small but still nice and well kept. The location is great. Just a 2 mins walk to the Nyhavn which has plenty of bars and restaurants. There is a Metro line close by and also the palace. The housekeeping is a bit uneven as 2 days my room wasn't cleaned. However, very good business hotel and I'd love to come and stay again.

Loved the Admiral Hotel. Fantastic location just up the block from Nyhavn and nice walk to see the Little Mermaid. Nice atmosphere in the lobby, good food and the room was also well appointed and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

One of the best hotels I've stayed at - and I've stayed at MANY. Spacious, well-equipped and beautifully designed rooms with comfy beds and perfectly planned and fresh bathrooms. The first hotel I've seen that has an HDMI socket integrated into the TV wall, allowing you to plug in your laptop and stream movies on the big screen - something all hotels should have. The light controls are very convenient - you can control all light from your bed, and you have USB jacks right where your bed lamp is, which is exactly where you want it to be if plugging in your phone to charge is that last thing you do before turning off the lights. The bathrooms are almsot as perfect as they can be. Loved the scent of the shampoo and the body lotion provided. The breakfasts are not included, but well worth the extra expense. Great food standard and pastries you actually want to try. Last but not least, the staff has been exceptionally helpful in accommodating special requests. We felt well taken care of, and the fact that we could bring a dog along to a hotel as great as this tops it even more.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Admiral hotel and loved our stay. Rooms have recently been renovated and are really nicely designed and spacious. Beds are very comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful in the evenings. The hotel is in a great location just off the water and right by Nyhavn. Staff are friendly and accommodating. I think it’s the best value for money in the city.
