We stayed in a family room with two young children ages 5 and 2. The hotel required this with two children. The room had a loft with a treacherous staircase that was anything but family friendly and we had to improvise a barrier out of the desk chair and couch cushions to keep our 2 year old off it. The...

Well located for visiting the tourist attractions of the city as well as a base for exploring further afield. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable and the restaurant food was excellent. The hotel staff were helpful, efficient and friendly. I would definitely visit Copenhagen again and the Admiral Hotel.

We were so impressed with the Admiral Hotel the minute we arrived. Aurora was amazing. We arrived at 8 in the morning and she made sure that our room was ready within an hour. Our room was amazing. It had a great harbor view and we loved the wooden beams. The room and the location were perfect.

Lovely location - central and dockside. I arrived on a cold day but can imagine it would be nice an summer. A random totally unoccupied bar on the dock side was blasting out loud tunes until fairly late on Sunday, which reverberated all around the dockside - very disagreeable. The outside of the hotel, lobby area and staff were all...

I had a double deluxe room facing the canal on the 5th floor. The room was large with open beams and it was nicely furnished. Corridors were quite dark and the signage could have been better - some room numbers were not obvious - but overall it was a nice hotel. My only issue was the temperature of the room...

We had a room with a view over the harbour and the Opera, a double bed. The rooms are beautiful with the old aged wooden beams original from when this old house was an warehouse. The rooms are big and their was also place for a small sofa and a table. We only heard some sounds in the evenings from...

Great location alongside dock and Royal Danish Playhouse (Skuespilhuset) in the old town on the Copenhagen  Tourist Walk route - just 5 minutes from Nyhavn and Royal Palace Square (Amalienborg) alongside canel and opposite Street Food Market (Paperoen). The Building is historic (2 seperate warehouses dating from 1781) and characterful in public areas and rooms. We had a deluxe room overlooking...

This hotel is large, but still friendly and pleasant. The rooms have good space, bathroom well equipped, and beds are comfortable. View is great overlooking harbor and opera. It is nice and quite and no problem to have the window open at night

Super location in the heart of Copenhagen in a coverted grain mill - lots of wooden beams everywhere gives the location great character and an old world feel. I was upgraded to a harbour view and the view was great. The room however for DKK 1325 per night was very small with twin beds and this was a disappointment. Breakfast...

Located a short walk from Nyhaven, the Admiral Hotel has a great central location and looks striking along the waterfront. It's also gorgeous on the inside... with the rooms themselves decorated with wooden beams across the ceiling. The bathroom was spacious, a huge mirror spanned a whole wall and the bed was comfortable. The staff were also very helpful in...

Neighborhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
