Stayed here for a city break at the start of December. The location is great, only 5 min walk from the central station. Right opposite the city hall and only moments from Tivoli Gardens. Lots of shops and restaurants near by and really close to the Main Street. The room was nice but small, the toilet only had a glass frosted door so not much privacy. Most nights from our room you could hear load music from outside. You have to book for the maid to visit and you have to book a breakfast slot. Not ideal as it means everyone is turning up at the same time each hour meaning it’s chaotic to try and get food. Huge queues and not the best choice. Struggled to find something I like to eat each morning. The dining room also wasn’t big and they had so many tables it meant walking round to get food wasn’t easy.

Very poor for a 4 star hotel. Rooms were not serviced during our stay so not only did we not get clean towels more importantly we didn't get our bins emptied or tea, coffee and milk refreshed. Milk was powdered and only 1 teabag anyway! The mugs in the whole hotel didn't have handles which when you are dealing with boiling water is not really fit for purpose. At breakfast we had the same style mugs so same problem. A good percentage of the plates - which were the size of side plates! - were chipped. The food was nice but we rather felt that Denmark was known for it's bacon and were disappointed that lardons were on offer! The pastries on offer were tiny croissants and a tiny Danish pastry. The fruit was an apple, an orange or some melon. A couple of breads. A couple of cheeses. One basic processed ham. A few cereals. Not a wide choice considering the star of the hotel and the fact we paid almost £600 for 2 nights per room. The bar was closed all weekend for private function and the restaurant we were told was not owned by the hotel even though the entrance is through the hotel. We tried to go to have lunch to be told they had been busy so they were closing early! There is no lounge to sit in together - we were a party of 6 - as the bar was shut. There was a few chairs in the reception lobby and on each landing there were 3 chairs, once again no good for 6 of us and as it was a very old building the huge windows are not double glazed so it was very cold to sit there anyway. The hallways to our rooms had several trollies in them all weekend with the dirty linen in from when the rooms had been previously been cleaned for new patrons

If i was looking to book a hotel a read some of the reviews regarding this hotel i would certainly question whether i should book or not! However you look at some of the negative reviews and you see it's a persons only contribution or you read something and know the type of person writing the post given things they say. So lets start Yes it's called the Scandic Palace Hotel but should you really expect to stay in a palace just because it has that in its name? I mean if we are going to judge things by name alone should the baseball WORLD serious not be call the North American serious since its only open to North American teams? Location: Located in the city centre opposite the city hall. Now any town hall will have bells that ring! It's how they used to make people aware in times gone by so should hotel receive a negative review because you booked a hotel next to a building that had bells? Short walk from main rail station and main shopping street. Check In: Pleasant and very helpful staff. They explained everything thoroughly INCLUDING the hotels cleaning policy! Not only is this explained its also on display on screens in elevators. Denmark is a country that is at the forefront of environmental awareness and takes it serious. Reducing waste and pollution is a top priority THIS is why they they inform you a check in that if you need your room cleaned you must request it. Do you really need things polished everyday? All of those chemicals being used etc? So hotel lets you decide! You ask for it to be cleaned then they will clean it if you are happy to leave it then so are they. Room : IMMACULATE No other word to describe it. Very spacious even with an extra bed in it for our Granddaughter. View overlooking square. Breakfast: This in my opinion is where it was below standard. A good enough selection with Gluton Free items also however while there is a waffle maker there is not a toaster not even a single slice of bread! Scrambled eggs were poor and not very warm, no fried eggs. Cereal choice also limted, but my wife thought breakfast was great. I have stayed in 2 other hotels in Copenhagen and my opinion is that this was the poorest breakfast. Would i stay here again? Yes! I don't expect a palace, im not going to be put off by bells ringing from the city hall and i also know if i want my room cleaned all i have to do is ask ...just as i have been informed.

We were originally going to stay at the Scandic Norreport but they had an issue with the building and had to close for a few weeks, they moved us to the Scandic Palace that's only one Metro stop away. It's a beautiful old hotel with nicely done rooms, ours was on the fourth floor with a small balcony overlooking City Hall plaza. There were double doors and double-pane windows so very little noise was heard in our room. Breakfast was amazing, there is a huge selection of hot and cold food and plenty of beverage choices as well. I'd definitely stay there again, it's a great location and the service was outstanding.

This was way more than average Scandic hotel. It felt more luxury hotel with own history, art and high quality. Room was big with huge bathroom and it worked well for three people. It was nice to realize how good the location was, right in the city center, but still it was really quiet and calm place.

Close to Rådhuspladsen just in the very centre of the town. Close to Central Station as well and subway to the airport. Fantastic location, nice staff, good and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast – but a bit expansive.
