I travel every year or so to Copenhagen and always have lovely accommodations in mid-level hotels. Ibsens is definitely a cut below, and I'd recommend it only if all others are full. The neighborhood setting is ideal, and on arrival it's lovely-- friendly staff, delicious breakfast, decent restaurant. The rooms (I've had both a medium and large) are very basic... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was small but it had everything we needed so can't complain about that. I am marking it down due to the fact the room and bathroom could have been much cleaner. Also our room was at the front of the hotel so it was quite noisy and we needed the window open... More

Though Copenhagen is quite expensive place, I still believe that this hotel is overcharging for what it offers. I was charged almost 200 euro for a room at the top floor with very low ceiling, looking at very noisy street. Furniture and bathroom was for 2 star hotel or less. Please also be informed that the hotel charge credit card... More

Thank you for reviewing us. Copenhagen hotels are quite expensive we admit and Ibsens Hotel follows the market price. This period is indeed one of the most expensive times of the year and this situation reflects on the rates at Ibsens Hotel as well as any other hotel in Copenhagen these days. The hotel is designed by local artists and... More

Very nice hotel, a little run down in the carpets in the hall of the rooms. Room very small but I guess if I had paid more I would have had a bigger one. Overall the hotel has great vibe it is always full of people around the front desk, free wine for one hour I think around 5pm .... More

Thank you for your wonderful review. Yes, we are aware of the carpets in the hall ways. In a few months we will replace them so next time you visit us - you will find new carpets. And you are quite right - we have 6 different room types in our beautiful old building, and the bigger the room the... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ibsen's in our cosy compact room. Our room was on the small side but we were out and about all day only returning to sleep in what was the most comfortable bed. There is no air con or tea and coffee making facilities nor a bar fridge in the room we had but that wasn't... More

We had a larger room, which by US standards is smallish. The bed and bedding were very comfortable and it was spotless. We appreciated the elevator for hauling our luggage as there was no bell service. It was warm in August and there was no air conditioning. That was not a problem as the nights were cool. However, bring your... More

Thank you so much for your positive review. We are glad you had a good stay at Ibsens Hotel. No doubt, European city hotels feature smaller rooms than average in the USA. During Summer you will experience some noise from the courtyard as Danes love to sit out under open sky in the evening to enjoy the few summer nights... More

ideal comfortable good value for money place to call your second home when in cph. Very attentive staff, premises and rooms beautifully decorated, cozy reading corner, affordable original artworks for sale. Wish we could've packed in our suitcases the Nordic Amber toiletries from our ensuite room. This hotel is situated in a very relaxed area but within a stones'throw from... More

I struggle to understand why this hotel gets such glowing reviews. We paid for a room in full before booking and paid for an upgraded room. We did not receive that class of room and when I tried to tell the woman who checked us in she was uninterested and told me that only what she saw in her computer... More

Thank for your review. Feedback is always welcome, whether it be positive or negative. We can see from your review that the room didn´t meet your expectations. We had to upgrade one couple from your group to a junior suite - we know the best will always be to upgrade everyone in a group, but this was unfortunately not possible... More

The staff was very helpful, always keen to advise and help. We a had a big suite, we loved it. The wifi was free and fast. The breakfast was very tasty and the waiting staff so friendly. Overall a nice hotel in Copenhagen. Rooms were small, but comfortable, our family of five got two rooms. Breakfast was very good and served in a nice atmosphere. Also have a 'cosy' hour for some drinks which was nice. Staff was very helpful with all requests. Great location, quick walk to Norreport station and the Storget. For rooms facing the... More

Thank you for your nice review! We also think we have one of the best locations in Copenhagen. We are glad you liked our breakfast buffet and cosy hour. There is some street noise during summer because our hotel is situated in the city center of Copenhagen. In Scandinavia we celebrate the summer – probably because the winter is so... More

Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city.
