Hotel Astoria is located as a large train in extension to Copenhagen's Central Station. It is positioned very centrally in a living area with a short distance to the metropolitan areas in the Meetpacker District and Copenhagen Center. There are approximately 100 meters to Tivoli and the City Hall Square is right around the corner. The airport is only a 12-minute ride away. The hotel is a 3-star hotel built in 1934 in the functionalist style typical for the architectural era and is therefore popular among people interested in architecture. We have kept many of the original parts inside the hotel.

This historic hotel, built in the 1930’s features beautifully-maintained art deco bones and a boutique hotel-feel in the heart of Copenhagen. The Astoria hotel effortlessly reflects something cool from a different time; from the original brass staircase and revolving wooden front door, to the soft globe lights lining the hallways. The Bauhaus-like exterior with original neon sign was interesting as well. In addition to the history of the hotel, the staff is friendly, the rooms are well-appointed, and the Scandinavian breakfast was tasty. We stayed for a quick weekend in the city and because of the relaxing charm of the hotel and the central location, we were able to do and see a lot without feeling rushed. We walked to the meat-picking district for dinner, strolled the canal and park with a coffee in hand, and braved the Halloween madness at Tivoli on a Saturday night. Highly recommend for a weekend in the city or a work trip if you want something cozy and authentic!

I went to this place on a school trip last year, so I hadn’t seen its photos before going. I expected it to be much bigger than it actually was. As soon as we had reached the hotel, everyone had rushed to their rooms. My bestie and I were caught up at the reception so we reached our room a little late. To our surprise, every single person was outside their room and frantically talking to each other. Then, my friend came up to me and said “The room is 7 steps and the washroom is 2 steps big”. Then I entered the room and found what he was saying was 100% accurate. It was too small. The windows get stuck very often. Also, spoiler alert, you pretty much have the same breakfast every day. Croissants, cheese, cold cuts and fresh fruits; my friend and I were so bored that we had to eat cup noodles twice in our week long trip. So end of story, watch the hotel’s pictures properly, read reviews like mine before booking it. But still if you are with your friends you will have fun like I did. My room became the hub for all my friends at night even though it was so small. Don’t forget, the tap water tastes really bad.

**Positive things: - Very friendly Staff (specially Liza the italian lady at the reception). - Clean rooms and very comfortable beds - Perfect location, next to train station and few minutes walking to center - We took superior double room on the 3rd floor which was big enough and we never hear any noise from the trains. - Good value for price (The free coffee at the reception was nice) **Negative things: - Terrible sound isolation between rooms. - No water boiler in the room (which i think every hotel should provide it as its not a big thing) - No complementary water/ tea/ coffee in the room ( I booked superior room so I was expecting to find that in my room)

the room prices started a bit high and the overall design of the room was old and was dark in colors and the bed was very hard to the touch but surprisingly comfortable to sleep in and the breakfast menu had great variety to choose between. so the hotel was very good.

Most things about the hotel were very nice, including staff, bar, reception and general impression. Unfortunately it was quite noisy in the night from the street, and our room had a hard bed decreasing sleep quality
