Stayed one night at Grand Hotel and envoyed it. It is old fashioned and the rooms are small. But good atmosphere and good breakfast in nice location. It was very hot in Copenhagen when I Stayed and with no air con the rooms get hot. But like the ambience of old Hotel.
Stayed at this hotel for one week in a standard double room. When we first arrived the 'dress' pillows on the bed absolutely stank of body odour.....obviously not everything is changed between guest bookings. I got them changed, but no apology, just acknowledgement. Next up, the double bed had a massive dip in the middle, very uncomfortable. Room size was ok and as advertised, was (other than the pillows) generally very clean and airy. Wardrobe in the room looked like it would fall over but did the job. Glass shelf in the bathroom sloped so bad that that it couldn't hold anything (fixed on request to be solid). There is a lovely room where breakfast is served that turns into a bar in the evening, fronting on to the main Vesterbrogade road. We thought we may sit in there around lunchtime to pass some time but were turned away. Door was open, but staff said we couldn't use the room until the bar opened at 4pm....such a waste, especially as there wasn't anywhere else to sit ( a few chairs in reception). Last gripe about this place was the stink of smoke on the floor we stayed at. There were signs up about non-smoking and fines etc, but obviously not enforced, horrible.…
A really great location ! A short walk from the shops, bars and restaurants and many tourist attractions such as Nyhavn. A very comfortable stay, the beds were very comfy and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Location was excellent, close to downtown and right next to Copenhagen central train station. Staff was friendly and the hot breakfast was delicious. Room was tiny, facilities were old (worn carpet, etc) and radiator didn’t keep the room warm enough.
The rooms are clean and the personnel is friendly. This hotel needs to have its wastewater pipes relined ir replaced: my room smelled like the sulfur coming out of the pipes. Given the fact that the reataurant only offered a green salad as the only vegan option for breakfast, I found the price (110 kr) to be ober the top. All in all, this was a disappointing experience.
