The hotel was in an excellent location and good value for money. The tour bus stop was only a 5 min walk away. It was also a 2 min walk away from the train station. The hotel staff were mixed between being super friendly and super grumpy. The room was a little worn out and old but it was good... More

The room was clean and the bed reasonably comfortable. The room furniture was very basic, old, worn and in need of replacing. A hospitality tray would have been welcome for morning tea/ coffee. There was a good selection for breakfast including a good, freshly- made fruit salad each morning, some hot food (egg and bacon), and a variety of cheeses,... More

Its entrance flanked by two large gilt lions, the Grand Hotel in Copenhagen is conveniently close to the railway station, several attractions, a bureau de change and lots of shops, restaurants and take-aways. Its receptionists are very polite and helpful and speak excellent English. However, claims that it is the 'best hotel in Scandinavia' are about a century out of... More

Old hotel with small and strange rooms, low standard and crappy furnitures in the room. A total lack of ventilation made the sleep horrible. Breakfast only standard but not affordable to the price Slow and different service in reception and no discount as promised for parking This is not worth a second stay and I will try to find another... First of all, if you are new to Copenhagen--the bicycles and bikers either have the right-of-way or think they do. They would as soon run over you going at ridiculously fast speeds as look at you! But, the hotel in question is about 1/2 block from Tivoli Gardens--a definite plus. The hotel itself is very dated with smoke-smelling rooms. But... More

The Grand Hotel in Copenhagen has an interesting, older and more classic look. The rooms are nice, spacious with older style restrooms. The restaurant on the ground floor is tasty. The reason to stay here is because of the older, classical feel, lower costs, and easy, walkable access to sites in the city, like the center of Copenhagen, shops and... More

The Grand Hotel in Copenhagen is well situated from the Central Train Station. (Walkable with bags). Clean, old-vintage boutique, small European size rooms and has a wonderful breakfast. It is reasonably priced and thus, is a great option for visiting and exploring Copenhagen.

This hotel is definitely NOT a 4-star hotel. Our room was really, really old-fashioned, and we were lacking commodities we would expect from a 4-star hotel. The wi-fi signal did not reach our room at all, and to get to the room we needed to use two lifts, one of them really, really old and faulty. The price, though, was... More

Very old building and furnitures too. Very poor breakfast and sure not suitable for children. Just good location and friendly staff. You have to change two elevators to reach the rooms. Very small rooms.

We were booked into this hotel for 1 night B&B as part of a Cruise package, but unfortunately it did not live up to it's 4* rating. To get to the room we were allocated, we entered an extremely small lift with our large suitcases to be brought down a narrow corridor only to find our room at the end... More

Staying in Inner Vesterbro

Neighborhood Profile
Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.
