Travelers' Choice
Hotel with atmosphere and elegance by Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen. Stories are and have always been important for the way we understand the world – and ourselves. You see, stories add value. Not only to our lives and daily doings, but also to the places and buildings that surround us. As our guest, you wake up behind 4-stared and preservation-worthy hotel walls that make you feel the spirit of the place. Since the 17th century, Phoenix Copenhagen has, along with the royal Danish residence Amalienborg and Frederik’s Church, been writing history and formed the centre of a life, which mark Frederiksstaden as Copenhagen’s most sophisticated district.

…when you enter through the main entrance, and walk up to the reception. However, first you need to park the car. (If that’s your transportation) Staff extremely service oriented, and you can tell they enjoy the job. Hotel in general, very stylish, clean and well organised. Got a single room, and everything very fine. Bed very comfortable. I got the room just to sleep, and that’s good, because it was very small. Didn’t have time for breakfast. All in all good stay.

Hotel's Favorite
We spent 4 nights here during a spring getaway. Hotel location is very central. Staff is most polite and welcoming. Our hotel room was nice and spacious enough (Executive double room). Hotel gym is nicely equipped and does the job. We especially likes the breakfast. It had good choises, and a lot of fruits. Very successful visit!

Our stay at this Copenhagen hotel was satisfactory, and probably qualified for a rating of around 3,5. The room was very small, and lacked the usual things like a hairdryer, soap and shower gel! However, service throughout our stay was very pleasant - all staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were also superb, with the crispiest bacon we've ever had in years of travel - we suspect an industrial size air fryer? Overall, a pleasant stay.

I was really pleased with my stay. The hotel is located in the centre of the old part of the city, within walking distance to the royal palace and many museums and churches. It is also close to the pedestrian area for a nice shopping experience. The hotel was clean, luxurious and the staff was kind and friendly.

This is an exquisite hotel with an exquisite, helpful and friendly staff. I had room 2241 which was good size, with a comfortable bed, electrical outlets everywhere, great wi-fi and good air-conditioning. I traveled in late August and the afternoon sun entered the two tall windows, so air-conditioning was very welcome. The buffet breakfast is excellent with everything you would want with both hot and cold choices. The property is well located near museums and shopping streets. About the only negative I can think of (and this is a stretch!) is that the safe is located at floor level and I couldn’t read the directions, which are written in tiny print. One of the staff very kindly hand-wrote out the directions for me. This is a lovely place and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel is old, but is in good condition, the location is really good, very central and walking distance to center, shopping district the port and Metro/trains. Stayed for 2 nights, we were a big group, the staff are super friendly. The drawback is that the rooms are old, my room was smaller than some of the other, and it was bit humid, small bathroom. Would recommend for the location and staff..

The hotel is well located, near some of the most popular attractions of the city. Old property. Not wheelchair accessible. The assigned room was very small and the price was very high. Bad value for money.

Dear Traveller, Thank you for staying at historic Phoenix Copenhagen in the center of Copenhagen. We are glad to read that you liked our superb down town location. Phoenix Copenhagen is not recommendable for wheel chair use. We have 10 steps from street level to our lobby level. We are sorry of your room was not big enough. At historic Phoenix Copenhagen rooms are available in different sizes going up to 60m2. If you like to elaborate on your review please forward an e-mail to phoenixcopenhagen@arp-hansen.dk Despite stay at Phoenix Copenhagen was not perfect we hope you had som nice days in Copenhagen. We took a family trip to Denmark and our base was the Phoenix Hotel in Central Copenhagen. The hotel is centrally located and walk-able to many major area attractions. Nyhavn is a 3-4 min walk, the pedestrian mall is a 10 min walk. The hotel also has bike for guest use (subject to availability) and you can get around central Copenhagen with ease as the city is bike oriented. While it is close to most everything it was not very loud or noisy at night or in the morning. We always felt safe walking the streets. The highlight of the hotel is without question the staff. From the front desk to the bellhops to the cleaning crew everyone had a positive attitude and are proactive in doing all they could to make our stay more pleasant. The rooms are nice and clean, they come with a closet that has a full length mirror and plenty of hanging space. Beds were very comfortable and the bedding linen was very fine and cozy. There was an extra pillow in the closet. When asked they provided extra towels. The bathroom has soap and shampoo dispensers. There was a shower/tub combo that was a long step down so be careful when getting out of the shower. There is a handle in the shower make sure to use it. The front lobby is very well appointed and has some interesting artwork and there are artifacts in the hallways showing you what the building was like in the past (neat feature). We had some special requests and they were more than happy to accommodate us. If you are planning a trip to Copenhagen this is the place to stay.
