My wife and I have just returned from a long weekend in Copenhagen. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Phoenix hotel. Location is great - short walk to Nyhavn area and good restaurants around. We stayed in one of the newly refurbished Executive rooms which are very nicely decorated. The breakfast was above average with fresh breads, pastries,... More

Centrally located, the hotel is near colorful Nyhavn and within walking distance to many attractions, bars and restaurants. The metro is down the street and across the square, although foot traffic is currently diverted around a huge metro construction project on the square. By metro, it's about 15 minutes to the Kongens Nytorv stop from the airport, and then a... More

Aside from a perfect central location within Copenhagen, the hotel is spacious, so are the double rooms (but not the single rooms though from what we gathered from friends staying also). It seems from looking at the interior plan of the hotel and the number of rooms per floor that it has been redesigned to fit as many rooms as... More

Pros: kind of central to most touristic area However 30 mins walk to Tivoli. Minibar was available. Good free internet. TV in room. Price was reasonable for Copenhagen. Change of Guards pass by the hotel 5-10 mins to 12:00 Cons: no air conditioning in my room ( single room)Small room. Breakfast was acceptable. Check in was slow and under staffed.

I spent 5 days in Cph and I stayed at the Phoenix Hotel....Just in the corner street next to Nyhavn, the picturesque old port full of bars and restaurants. .Also near one of the main squares in town with underground station (just 15 mins from airport) and where the Stroget (The longest European Street) starts! As dir the hotel, superb... More

We stayed there during an official trip. It's Very close to Nyhavn and the walking street (stroget) so lots of options for eating out as well as shopping :) The hotel is located close to the royal palace and has old french decor including chandeliers in the rooms. The staff is courteous and helpful. There are convenience stores like netto... More

Rooms are on the small side but amazingly quiet. You never hear anyone even though the hotel was full you could not hear anyone in the adjoining rooms or in the corridor. I was part of a group and we all agreed it was the quietest stay ever, great. The hotel is perfectly situated for touring the city. Easy walking... More

We chose this hotel because it was central close to everything. The only drawback was that it was unusually hot and not all the rooms have air conditioning. However, when I voiced the need for a cooler room, we were given an attic type room with a small window. Nonetheless, we were very happy that we could move into a... More

Staying in Indre By (Inner City)

Neighborhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
