Hotel Phoenix has a super location for a visit in Copenhagen. The hotel lobby is fantastic with marble and beautiful paintings. The staff is professional and serviceminded, but the rooms are not quite up to standard. The bath room was big and well equipped, but we missed a shower cabinett in stead of plastic cutain. My wife missed an enlargening... More

The hotel is situated in the central part of Copenhagen. It is very close to Amalienborg and Nyhavn. It is classic in an old style. The staff is very nice and professional. I had room that was okay. The breakfast is standard. There was a lot of tourists at the hotel when I visited. It's a part of the city... More

Stopped for a light meal and were delighted with the traditional open faced smoked salmon sandwich accompanied by a wonderful green salad. Also had one of the best cappuccinos in a long time. Comfortable chairs and ambience, great food and an attentive and pleasant waiter on an early evening in August.

The room smelled terrible like old cigarettes, the AC did not work and the staff was not helpful. The location was good. but Ii will not recommend staying in the hotel. Copenhagen is full of other good hotels.

Stayed here for a couple of days while on business. First visit to Denmark so my comparison is with hotels across Europe including Netherlands. Location - good, central location. Closer to Nyhavn, Amalienborg palace, Little Mermaid. Easy to access. Hotel - old hotel although maintained. Too many rooms running across narrow corridors. Rooms- small although well laid out. No views... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and liked the central location - close to Rosenborg Castle & Gardens and Amalienborg Palace and the harbor - but the hotel has some mechanical problems. Good news, our room had an air conditioning unit above the entry door to the room; bad news, it dripped constantly, making the carpet soggy. We had to... More

Spent 3 nights at this hotel, and loved it! We had a beautiful and spacious superior room, coffee and tea facilities, very comfortable bed and TWO comfortable chairs! A bit small bathroom, but still OK. Good breakfast. Very close to Nyhavn, Kongens Nytorv and the pedestrian area Strøget, Will certainly consider staying here next time in Copenhagen.

The location was good. The lady at the reception was not friendly at all and avoided me deliberately twice, one of them during the check-in, and asked her colleague to do the check-in although it was my turn (the only guy was friendly is a guy with gray hair, he looks professional ). Also, as 4 stars hotel I was... More

Staying in Indre By (Inner City)

Neighborhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
