For those of you who regard youth hostels as budget accommodation in basic, semi-institutional buildings, think again. This hostel has real character and an interesting history. It has very attractive public rooms and oozes quality. I stayed here for one night on a recent cycling trip from Hamburg to North Denmark. I had some concerns that I might not get...

I stayed for one night on a recent trip to Denmark. The hostel is set in a beautiful large old collage building a 20 minute walk from the station or ferry terminal (or there’s a bus every 30mins). Accommodation is in the form of private rooms with shared bathrooms. Check-in was fast and efficient, and the room clean and comfortable,...

We stayed here as there were no hotels available in Esbjerg, the closet available being varde. The hostel exceeded our expectations, in that it is not a normal hostel but a 5+ star hostel with lovely private rooms (nicer than any of the European 3star hotels we have stated in). Many private lounges located through out the building. Food was...

I visited Esbjerg under job circumstances, and both me and the group I stayed with had a great time. The food was exquisite, the rooms are nice, the interior was beautiful and especially the service was top noch. The owners are a married couple, and they do their best to make sure you are comfortable in their hostel. There is...

A great place to stay - affordable with quirky design features and excellent food for a very low price. The private rooms here are very nice and good value. Yes, you are a little way out of the centre but this is not a problem - public transport links are good. Parking is also plentiful and there is a small...

The service was attentive and swift. The room was very large and clean. Beds were comfortable. Furniture in room as well as in public areas were Danish design at its very best. Bathroom was large and comfortable. Located in the outskirts of town, it's some ten minutes brisk walk to the town centre, but that also makes it easily accessible...

Well, I got to admit, I came as a walk-in and should have been happy to get a place to stay, but however, I had left the Danhostel with mixed feelings the next day and with definitely not much intention to return one day. I was going for a shared room, but they only had availability for a single. Prices...
