This hotel is located directly on the cost on Baltic sea. Some rooms have sea view. Hotel has a swimming pool and sauna. They are in the lowest part of the hotel. So, one can swim in the sea just after the sauna, even if water temperature is not high. City center is around 2,5 km away. Really, to hear the sea, to see wawes - it is wonderful location for romantic holidays!

Large infrastructure, well maintained, breathing the atmosphere of the 70ties and 80ties. Friendly personnel. Excellent food during the event. Good breakfast. Rooms themselves quite basic. Great views on the sea. Nice environment.

We arrived relatively late in the evening, about 8pm as we had a relentless 15hr drive from the Uk to Hirtshal at the tip of Denmark. Then under less time pressure we drove down to Aarhus and thankfully the Helan Marselis Hotel was exceptionally easy to find in our tired state, just ever so slightly outside the city centre positioned right on the beach. We arrived and were greeted by the delightful Tina who was more than helpful to us, sorting out our parking and answering my many questions about access to the beach, gym and swimming pool. This is a large Hotel and there was obviously some sort of conference happening but once we left the bar area the sound vanished and by the time we got to our room you wouldn't even know there was anyone else in the hotel. The room was splendid with a spacious bathroom, a wet-room style shower and an exceptionally comfortable bed. As we entered the room the view over the ocean was the first thing noticed and enjoyed for our entire stay. If there were a down side is that there was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room so sitting on the Balcony having a coffee would have meant going to the bar to come back to the room but that really isn't a reason to moan now is it. In case anyone is wondering the water in Denmark, like in most Scandinavian Countries, is not only drinkable but utterly delicious. In the morning with the door to the balcony open the quiet was glorious, so slowly we got up and heading downstairs had a rather lovely buffet breakfast with lashings of coffee but a word of advise, get there early for waffles, they go quick. They get replenished... but they they go quick too. A walk down the beach, a paddle in icey waters and a walk round the circular pier called the 'Den unendelige Bro' - The Infinite Bridge. We went to the further point and then sat down dangling our feet just above the water and enjoying the view. The check out was as smooth, friendly and professional as the check in and we would like to thank Ida for that. Although the city centre is just over a miles walk from the front door of the hotel we decided to move the car and Aarhus offer a large quantity of parking options and all reasonable. A lovely Hotel in a lovely setting with lovely staff and I cannot wait to come back.

We love the location of this hotel, it is just by the beach. It is easy to find a parking space and it takes only a few minutes to both check in and out. The staff is very helpful and friendly, we have been here about 5 times and have always felt welcome here. The breakfast buffe has a good selection of food and coffee. There are usually many activities and programs in the city, so it is fairly easy to find entertainment nearby.

We stayed in the cottages just behind the hotel, I am still not sure what I thought of the room, the bed was just a double and my husband and i are use to sleeping in a king, but the overall room was clean, and that is my main concern. All the staff could have been more helpful. They would answer questions but would not go out of there way to be helpful. Same with the service at the restaurant in the hotel the food was decent. The location was really nice!
