A welcoming, helpful proprietor, a 24-hour lounge with free coffee, chocolate, and tea, and a quiet atmosphere characterize this hotel. The rooms are decent-sized, all is in working order and breakfast consists of the usual and is fresh and more than adequate. The city of Odense is small, and you can walk just about anywhere from the motel.

I stayed at the Ansgarhus Motel for one night in July 2018. I was satisfied with the room size and design. It is a very meticulously clean place. They were is the middle of repainting the exterior and it appears the interior was recently repainted. There is a pleasant garden in the rear of the building. The location was excellent, a 5 minute walk to the major tourist areas of Odense. If you arrive by train, take a taxi to the motel, price was reasonable. The breakfast was good as well. My only criticism was that for me personally, the bed mattresses in the room in which my wife and I stayed were too soft and therefore problematic for some people with back problems. If you are in that situation, you may want to contact the proprietor and ask if some rooms have firm beds.

Stayed here last minute and booked based on price and reviews. Very friendly and helpful welcome throughout our stay at this modest but comfortable 'motel.' Our twin room was on the snug side, but was clean and cozy and offered good storage for bags/clothes, free wifi and TV with lots of channels. Bathroom was slightly cramped but we only stayed one night, so not a big deal. Good towels and basic shower gel - hair dryer in room would have been nice. We enjoyed using the garden sitting area to relax in after a long day. Vending machines provided reasonably priced Danish beers, snacks and soft drinks. Free coffee/water are always available as well as an indoor sitting area. Breakfast was simple but good - no hot options but excellent breads along with cold cuts, cereals, etc and plenty of juice and coffee. Calm atmosphere in the 'motel' and nice neighborhood just outside the main downtown area. Would definitely stay again, good value in expensive Denmark!

This is one of those lovely places you don't want everyone to know about. Lovely rooms, charming host easy walk to the main sights on town. Restaurants and markets nearby. Breakfast was excellent. The host was always available to assist.

We had limited expectations of this "motel" but it seemed convenient to visit Odense briefly. However it was actually very good. Parking was good. Location also good - only a street or two away from the high street of Odense and river/park area. We had a room in the eaves, almost divided in 2 with a sitting area and the bedroom area. Small but perfectly formed. There do not appear to be double beds in any of the rooms, but comfortable all the same. Free hot drinks were available from the lounge area and there was also a vending machine for other drinks/alcohol/snacks. The patio garden looked lovely but it rained when we were there. Breakfast was a simple buffet in a lovely bright room. Had a very friendly chat with the owner and this was a lovely experience that exceeded our expectations.
