Small, cosy family-run hotel in the middle of the forest… it is not fancy but a really “down-to-Earth” nice, peaceful and relaxing place with beautiful and quiet surroundings – perfect for some holidays at Bornholm! We really loved the beautiful nature and “hilly” tracks in the forest surrounded the hotel for our morning runs which is by far the most beautiful tracks I’ve ever run. The “buffet” breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed the homemade food - especially the bread/buns and different marmalades :) It worked well despite Covid-19 restrictions - we felt save! The kids (aged 8 and 10) enjoyed the free mini golf course - while we had time to enjoy a great barbecue dinner on the terrace... we were served a big plate with a little bit of everything - that all tasted really good.

We arrived at Skovly Bornholm and had all sorts of excursion ideas for the day. Once we sat on our private terrace, a peaceful tranquility surrounded us as we watched nature buzz. Needless to say, we rested and enjoyed the lovely summer day. Walking two minutes through the forest, we reached a lovely sandy beach. The managing couple have established a lovely, old school nature lovers place which is full of Danish hygge. They very successfully blend stories of the past with modern expectations. They've created their own moutainbike singletrack which is by far the most beautiful trail with a few surprisingly difficult parts. The food is delicious and we could tell that they had a particular interest in tasty, healthy and good quality food because many of their things were homemade with ingredients found in Bornholm. They are committed and passionate at Skovly. Ask them about anything really; Bornholm, the food, the history of Skovly, the vintage toy collection, MTB - and stories pour out. We want to come back.

This hotel is not fancy. It is just right and reflective of what Bornholm offers. Quiet, peace, a slower pace. In a beautiful setting in the woods near a sandy beach. The owners are warm and welcoming. Our room was simple but clean. The breakfast buffet was perfect. We arrived during the dinner buffet which looked sumptuous but we had already had dinner. If you are looking for quiet and serene with a Bornholm ambience you will like this hotel. A few minutes from Rønne where you can find restaurants and stores. A perfect base to explore the island. We will be back!

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Beautiful and quiet surroundings in the middle of the forest with a lovely beach just 200 metres away. The hotel itself is basic, with accommodations that are more similar to bungalows. Small rooms with free WiFi but no fridge, safe or toiletries. The soundproof is not great between the rooms as we could hear the other guests. On the upside everything was clean, breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. We paid 110 eur for a double room which in my opinion is a bit overpriced for what you get. Keep in mind that there is no food at or near the hotel during most of the year so guests should bring supplies from the nearby villages.

Best hotel stay while we were traveling a month in Denmark this summer. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. It’s has been very hot this summer throughout Scandinavia, and we had air conditioning in the room, almost unheard of in Denmark!! The Grill Buffet was the best food I had in any hotel in Denmark. It was a short walk to the beach where I swam in the beautiful Baltic. Further, the hotel was friendly and warm, and the hotel managers and staff made us feel welcome. Although we didn’t rent a bike, they are oriented towards outdoor activities and trail riding in the woods.
