We stayed in this property for 10 nights occupying 3 apartments and our opinion can only be very positive. The structure is spread over 5 different levels: the apartments on the top floor enjoy a spectacular view but can be reached after climbing a long flight of stairs. The apartments on the ground floor have a direct view of the street but are more convenient to reach. Breakfast is served until 10.30am and offers a bit of everything: carrot cake, fresh fruit, yogurt, feta, olives, tomatoes, eggs, ham, cheese, fruit juice, coffee, etc. The beautiful Hovolo beach is about 300 meters away and can be reached via a small road that runs along the sea. Unfortunately the island is served by buses that pass only 4/5 times a day: renting a car is highly recommended. If you need a ride to/from the airport, ask Mr. Nikos, the manager of the facility. A special thanks to Katerina and Alexandra who accompanied our awakening every morning with smiles and a sincere willingness to meet our needs. Prices are cheaper than on other islands in Greece. The only sore point concerns the open space in front of the structure: an unkempt football field and a large poorly maintained car park. We will be back ❤️ 🇬🇷

slightly isolated location, but very close to the beautiful Hovolo beach. very close to a fish restaurant (they are fishermen!!). you have to have a car, otherwise you can't do anything. Older structure, well kept, could do with more maintenance. don't be scared of the steps...it's all ups and downs ;) good breakfast, even if it's always the same. friendly staff

We were blown away by Hovolo Hotel! The rooms were clean, the view was amazing and everyone at the hotel was so nice and helpful! There was access to the beach and the coolest cafe down the road. Plus delicious breakfast! To say we fell in love with this place is an understatement!

A small apartment hotel with amazing views of the sea and lemon green, pine covered hills. This small village is surrounded by forested hills on one side and the turquoise green sea on the other. The hosts were warm and welcoming, glad to help with anything we needed. The room was spacious and comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. A delicious, light breakfast came with the room which was a great savings. Highly recommended to get away from the crowds of Skopelos town and have a taste of small town, harbor life.

As always, when I stay at a place, I try to write a bit about the transportation, Hotel, restaurants, beaches, and other attractions I saw while on the island…
So, here goes:
TRANSPORTATION: We came over on Pegasus Express. We sat in first class, which is only about 10 Euros more per person, and worth it. You get comfortable couches with a table in the middle, a private cafeteria that is not too crowded when you need it, and non-numbered seats, first come first serve. The economy seats are more like airline seats.
THE HOVOLO APARTMENTS STAFF:
I cannot say enough good things about the Hovolo Apartment Staff. They truly made me and my family feel like a member of their family. From Nikos (the Patriarch of the family) who would advise me on scouting expeditions or jogging sites every morning, to his lovely wife Alexandra who would boil my special "soft boiled eggs" on demand even after breakfast was over. Fotini, Georgia, Constandina and her friend Nikos were ever present at most hours of every day for any whims we may have had. Fotini even acted as a babysitter a few times when Mom and Dad needed a break, which is something I would normally never do with my daughter, but we bonded so well with their family, and there was such trust between us.
AMENITIES OF THE HOTEL:
The Hotel does not have a restaurant, but does make club sandwiches, toast, serve all kinds of coffee, soft drinks, water etc, and is open from 7am-midnight. They also have a laundry facility and will do your laundry for a reasonable fee should you desire that.
THE ROOMS:
Definitely, you should choose a room on the top level, preferably 51-54. 54 will be the last one on the row and has a side view of the sea but it is more private than some of the other rooms. Our room (52) did not have a sea view from the window, but when you step onto the balcony you have a sea view to the left up to the green forest on the other side where our window was. In other words, standing in front of your balcony you look left and see the Sea, but look straight ahead and see the lush green forest. The rooms themselves were huge, with a nice loft above for a second room. The bathroom shower had some of the highest water pressure of any Greek Hotel I've been to which was great!
HOUSEKEEPING: Housekeeping was quite good, but initially there was a problem with the maid forgetting to lock the door, but after mentioning it, they responded quickly and apologized profusely. Other than that, the only other odd thing in three weeks of staying there was that a scorpion made its way into our room, but I quickly dispatched it to the afterlife and that was that. When I mentioned it to the owner (Mr. Nikos) he was surprised and said he had never seen that before. Me neither--but I am glad I saw it and my 7 year old didn't.
OVERALL: The Hovolo apartments was a great place to relax, and we truly enjoyed it. We would have preferred if it wasn't as expensive (95.00 Euros a night), as we found other guests who had paid less, but they had booked much earlier in the year. The only other annoyance was the wasps which were everywhere during the day and at times very annoying indeed, but this is not a specific problem with the Hovolo but rather with the island in General. But, the great attitude of the staff minimized any concerns we had about price as they truly knew how to keep customers happy and in the end we got our money's worth and more. We feel that they have become part of our family in a way. Our hats off to them!
RESTAURANTS: I have made other reviews individually for these but we liked, Agnanti in Glossa, Maestrali in Glossa, and Aktaion-Prodomos in Skopelos town. Most of the prices on this island were great and definitely less expensive than Athens. Next to Hovolo, there is a fish tavern that has really good fish. We ate there twice but most often we ate at other places around the island.
Panormos was the beach we spend 2 weeks of our three weeks visiting daily! Remarkably one of the clearest water beaches I've even been to with the exception of the Seychelles. Plus, the great Nikos Taverna lets you use the sunbeds for free as well as providing great meals for lunch and dinner.
Kastani Beach (Mama Mia fame) is also a great beach, and especially if you like seeing aesthetically pleasing Greek people, as this tends to attract a certain "see and be seen" crowd.
Milia Beach is also a great beach and our second favorite one. Clear water, but not as many amenities as Panormos.
ATTRACTIONS:
Skopelos Main town: Great for strolling, climbing up the big church on the right side of the harbor, let your young children ride the pony (Elina is her name), and have a typical Greek experience at the shops in town.
Glossa Town: Glossa is a cultural center of sort. Narrow streets, artsy shops, and a quaint feel made me really enjoy this town. And if you want a good souvlaki (Giros), try the one in the upper square area (Look for the long legged, young Greek Blond woman with the big smile who owns the place, and you'll know you are there!)
The Ag. Ioannis Church on top of the rock (i.e., Mama Mia Church). Do not miss this, and read my review on going there for sunrise.
The Lighthouse. It was quite a drive and although I enjoyed it, I would skip it unless you are really a lighthouse enthusiast as I am.
The Pirate Graves at Sedoukia. Now this is definitely for people in good shape. It's quite a drive, and then a trek into the mountains but once you get there, you'll see graves that supposedly are from Neolithic times (3500 BC maybe), but no one seems to know for sure when they were made and you'll be very impressed with how precise the stones were cut into as these are sold rock formations that have been turned into graves.

I have visited this lovely place recently and I must say "it felt like a home". The rooms at the topmost floor are ideal for the families with the children older than three, they are at the outskirts of the pinewood trees, which keep the cool. The ladies at the reception are polite and very helpful - as I said "heart giving", so we have received all necessary help and advices. Yes, the architectural solution of the site is such that the rooms with the best view can be reached only through a lot of stairs - however, the view is heart-breaking. There is also a nice young gentleman who will fly up and down with your suitcases, so one really needs just to move his own ... body upstairs (or downstairs). The cleaning ladies are really helpful and they do keep the things perfectly clean. And, there is a decent breakfast with some of Greek goodies (excellent domestic feta cheese, special black olives, domestic jams, eggs and small sausages which kids just adore) and a nice opportunity to meet some neighbors. For dinners, one can just step out 5 meters down a street and enjoy a terrific genuine Greek cuisine at Kapetan Spyros - also very nice people. And, you can literally walk to two completely available beaches - one with small stones and the other with a sand. The beaches are separated by a small marina but the intensity of tourism at Neo Klima is not that high, hence the water is really crystal-clear, no car traffic near the beaches, so one can really relax. And everything is within a reach (other restaurants, stores, bakeries, etc). Unlike Skopelos-city or Panormos, Neo Klima is a real jewel, well fit for families and people who just want to relax from the crowd, noise, mess. And one can really eat well (exquisite!). And if Neo Klima is a Skopelos Jewel, then Hovolo Apartments are "Jewels of the Jewels". See you again next summer ;)

We stayed at Hovolo Apartments 9 days. Our room was N. 1, on the ground floor. The room was nice and spacious, with a comfortable double bed, sitting area and a fully equipped kitchen. We also had a porch with a mountain view. The room was pretty dark though, since had only a small window, so we were forced to have our door open if we wanted to be able to see normally during the day. The room is about 5 meters away from the road, right next to the reception and the breakfast area, so was a bit noisy. Excellent room service, Internet connection - fast but unstable, the breakfast - not good. The owners were very nice and helped us with useful information about the island and the places of interest. One day we even found in our room some homemade sweets they prepared, which was such a pleasant surprise.

We had a great time staying in Hovolo Apartments. Neo Klima is a lovely little village on Skopelos Island and the hotel was perfect for us. It a 2 minute walk from the beach and there are nearby restaurants and bars. We had breakfast in the hotel every day and then hit the beach. The hotel was well maintained, quiet and perfect for our needs. The view from our room was spectacular (especially during the sunset hours!). The staff were great. Really helpful and friendly people. They gave us great advice about the local area, ferry times and places to eat. Just a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!

There is something to be said about hospitality at this family owned "bed and breakfast." I happen to have family localized in Klima, but made the decision to remove myself from my normal comfort zone and stay at a local hotel (I was traveling with my girlfriend, and felt a need for extra privacy while abroad). Little did I expect what was to come at this EXTRAORDINARILY warm hotel.
The rooms were as described, fully equipped to feed any culinary impulses, or just to have a cup of greek coffee. Plates, utensils, detergent, rags, everything. The bathroom was stocked with clean towels (white), soaps, shower gels, and shampoos, and re-stocked every couple of days (as promised). Floors were always mopped and garbage was always clean, privacy always acknowledged.
Now, what blew me away was how great the breakfast was!! Every morning there were variations of food, from eggs to rice pudding to cheese pies, all different on a daily basis. Fresh coffee daily, orange juice, and alcohol upon request. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS, AUTHENTIC, AND TRUE TO SKOPELOS!!!
It was always friendly with the management, they were incredibly understanding, regardless of circumstances, and always were there to help and make sure the trip was fantastic. They constantly suggested things to do, and places to go, and made sure never to impose any strict rules upon the guests. I just can't say enough how great these people were. Funny, sweet, good people.
The view was surreal, sunsets every night...stay here and you will have a memorable stay in Skopelos Island. THANK YOU!!

Perfect location, next to the beach and greenery, yet close to everything you need (markets, restaurants, souvenir shops, bus station, etc) . Very very nice people, always there for every guest! Breakfast is delicious, and rooms are so clean! Also loved that terase door and windows had mosquito net. We had such a great time and we are very grateful! Danilo and Ana
