Staying here now and the views are lovely, Rooms are Ideal for what we need staying in a superior room. The views from the room are amazing The Family who own it are very Friendly The Steep Hill everyone talks about is Steep but is only a 10 15 mins walk into town, walking down it is ok walking back up you may have to stop half way up to catch your breath but you can look over at the amazing views of skiathos town. I would stay here again love to ya all and all the Best to The Blue Horizon.

I don't think I would be able to find the words to give this beautiful studio apartments justice. The owners are such lovely welcoming people. The pool and view are just wonderful. Lovely pool bar serving great coffees and snacks. Studios have amazing views, are spotless and have everything you need. A last minute booking given the situation, but, certainly a place we know we will be returning to hopefully time and time again. Thank you Micheal and your family for making us so welcome.

Love this place! Having stayed in 4 hotels in the last 2 weeks, can’t wait to comeback to this place only! Gentle feel, owners are delightfully lovely, rooms are spacious, simple, but all the relaxing feel you need! (Bring a travelkettle) The view from the room balcony, breakfast terrace and pool are breathtaking! Would recommend this to everyone that can handle the hillside, or hire a Scooter or car 🤣

Just spent a week here and there really are good and bad points to this place which makes a review and score tricky, as some things are done very well and then let down in other areas which is a shame. Firstly the views, wow they are definitely worth the walk up the very steep hill from the edge of town near bus stop 4. There is a small church behind the property and you can see the airport runway and planes coming in to land as well as great views across town, Bourtzi island and the sea. The place is family run and they are all very personable and friendly and their dog is super friendly even came into our room a couple of times which is nice for dog lovers whose pet is in kennels back home. The small bar area is nice and the menu is limited but offers all you need for a spot of lunch if you don’t want to head into town in the heat of the day. There is a car park at the rear if you hire a vehicle (we had a quad for 2 days, great fun!). The small pool is nice and offers the chance to cool off and although their aren’t a lot of sunbeds we got 2 every day even when the resort started to get busier towards the end of the week. Also got beanbags and chairs and tables with decent parasols, and it’s so quiet save for the odd kid now and again! So all well and good but when you are self catering you expect a bit of help and the kitchen facilities are poor even by Greek standards, want a brew then boil a saucepan of bottled water! Clean glasses to drink from no all dirty. To top it off we were drinking a few cans of Mythos around the pool and came back to find a laminate on our table telling us this is not allowed. If that’s the case why not come and talk to us like adults or put up a permanent sign somewhere, we are self catering after all, and still put €65 behind the bar on our room tab! I am not sure if it was just us but our shower had no curtain which meant water everywhere. We were in room 13 which had no view and got hardly any sun on it, speaking to guests it seems upper floor rooms are mainly given to returning guests of which there seem many. Finally on checking out we were told we couldn’t keep our room even though nobody checked into it after us as we were still onsite until 5 O’clock. There is a “shower room”, which is basically a toilet, but they don’t even provide you with a towel which again is poor service even in Greece. Overall a nice property out of the main town albeit up a steep hill which provides a peaceful retreat, but probably not the place to stay if you are looking for some of the finer details. That said you get what you pay for.

Spent our last two nights here and it was perfect, we had a nice room for 3 people on the ground floor opening out into the pool area. Views are amazing, great to watch the planes take off and land. Studio was nice and spacious, normal greek shower open to bathroom although we did have shower curtain, nowhere to hang shower head but this is fairly normal in a lot of greek apartments, shampoo, soap and shower gel was provided. Beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked well. TV with BBC news. There was also a good hairdryer and a fridge. Owners are very helpful with good knowledge of area and drinks are available from the bar at reasonable cost. As others mention the studios are at the top of a steep hill, is only a 10-15 minute walk to town or beach but ladies wear flat shoes! Even if you are fit you may need to stop to catch your breath, its only a short distance though and the views and quietness make it worthwhile. If you do enjoy walking and don't mind a challenging walk then turn left outside the studios and head into the hills, we did a 10 mile round trip to Kastro beach one morning and it was amazing. We also walked from the studios to the airport which took around 38 minutes. When you turn right outside of studios and head down hill there are a lot of nice looking tavernas as well as a supermarket and as you head into town there is no end of places to eat/drink. Studios are close to bus stop 4, watch the cross roads here as can get busy. Skiathos is wonderful island and this is a great place to explore the town from, hope we can visit again one day.
