Although i have stayed here several times and i have travelled to many other places around the world i feel most at home and relaxed at the oasis and Skiathos and that is down to the wonderful family and staff. Although i knew things would not be as usual due to covid for example some food services and entertainment not available but that did not matter the welcome was still fantastic and we were looked after nothing too much trouble . The rooms were spotless and so was everywhere else free wifi and safe hair drier in room loads of loungers scattered around lovely well kept gardens and just in case anyone was worried yes there was sanitiser dotted around for guests to use and yes on arrival we were greeted with a freebie drink bags taken to room by staff . We hired a car for three days which George helped us with and got us a great deal which is a great way to see the island. Oasis 5-10 mins from town 5 mins from airport supermarket about a 5 min walk away and there are shopping trollies for guests to use if they go to supermarket. Had a another great week and again gutted to leave but have to say once again a big thankyou to Mike,George,Eleni and all the staff for looking after us so well in difficult circumstances. Please all stay safe during the winter and hope to see you all very soon dave, alison, danielle and kenny xxxx( The Knowlers)…
We stayed here for the last week of the season. We were 4 couples. On arrival we gathered in the bar area and Mike asked us all what we would like to drink which I thought was a really nice welcome. A lot of people arrived at the same time so took a while before everyone had their drinks. He then went on to tell us about the hotel and the surrounding area before allocating us our rooms. We were given 2 rooms upstairs overlooking the gardens which were nice and had a nice balcony. The rooms were basic but had everything you needed. The other 2 rooms were near the pool and you went down steps into them. I preferred the upstairs rooms as they were brighter. The hotel is quirky and if you want 5* it isn’t for you but if you want somewhere to stay that is clean and extremely friendly then this is the place to stay. Mike and his wife took the 8 of us to the beach and monastery one afternoon which was really kind of them. It was our 1st time in Skiathos and definitely won’t be our last. We will definitely stay at the Oasis again hopefully next year. …
Unfortunately I feel I need to be honest with this review as I wouldn’t want others to make our mistake. We were possibly given the worst 2 rooms in the hotel which probably didn’t help. The ones near the pool that you go downstairs to. They are damp and very old! These rooms desperately need renovating. The bathroom was awful I didn’t even want to use it. Everything is very old and covered in thick dust. The room also smells damp and unclean. The pool area isn’t the best either. We made a comment about the rooms to be told the hotel is full so if we don’t like it we will have to find somewhere else. Considering everything this year we decided to up and leave after the first night as we didn’t want it to ruin our holiday.
Hi everyone The only negative thing I would say about oasis was having to close the door & get my flight home !!!!!!!! With everything going on this year I was so glad we got a week at this wonderful place Mike & all his staff can’t do enough to help you If you have a problem they will do there best for you always We could learn a lot from these guys !!!! Apartments are fine if you are like me as long as it’s clean you have a nice balcony to have a drink & you can make a coffee in the morning I am laughing!!! Skiathos is so beautiful you are out all the time Oasis is in a lovely position close to everything The thing is if you want 5* luxury in Skiathos town you will pay for it I personally wouldn’t like I say you will be out exploring all day Thanks again mike Also thank you George for taking us to the airport Sorry you had 2 journeys as I left my phone in the room🤪trying my hardest to stay ha ha Thanks again beautiful people See you next year Leah & Mark …
We were very much looking forward to our holiday at the Oasis having read the reviews. In the current climate we expected that covid would be taken seriously. The staff told us, as we got off the coach that we did not need masks. We were crowded together in the bar area,(around thirty of us ) for a welcome drink and a talk from the owner. He started by telling us that the hotel was taking a very relaxed approach to coved. The table had wet drink stains from its previous occupants. We were there a good length of time while the owner told us about the hotel and the island. During that time we saw no evidence of cleaning or sanitation. The owner told us that his hotel was full but that his usual 16 staff had been cut to just 4. Perhaps that was why cleaning routines weren’t evident. We were then shown to our room. Our room had not been cleaned never mind sanitised and we did not feel safe. It was really bad. It needed a deep clean. There were plastic bags from previous occupants stuffed behind the TV and down the side of and inside the wardrobe. Thick dust and mildew on lights and work surfaces. Rusty cooker ring dirty looking toaster kettle and microwave. Splashes and what looked like toothpaste smeared on the bathroom walls-and door. Altogether not fit for purpose. In many visits to Greece we had never seen anything like it. We can only think that other people’s rooms were not like this or the hotel wouldn’t be so popular. We are both in our sixties and at higher risk. We had booked through a very prominent tour operator and had been confident that our safety would be taken seriously. Since we had already been told that the hotel was full we didn’t ask to change rooms and we handed in our keys and left.…
