Visited here service appalling and over an hour’s wait for food. Staff unfriendly and rude, seems to be a family run bar and accommodation . Was left feeling uncomfortable after viewing male staff/family members stood gesturing and commenting about young women on the beach they were viewing . Would not recommend to anyone. Totally unprofessional.
The sea view restaurant is nice but the service is awful. 20 minutes to serve two cocktails and after over AN HOUR and ten waiting for a porck survlaki and a club sandwich we had to leave. There were only two tables in the room (one was ours). We were simply told that the other table (seated after ours) had ordered many dishes.... Very bad experience. Really not recommended!
First, Dafni Hotel is not a hotel, but a self-catering rooms facility. You will get a room with a kitchen, a bed and some furniture. And a...terrace facing the sea, through Dafni Hotels beach-bar. Really nice to relax, in the night and see the ships passing by. Mrs. Dafni is a pleasant madame and if not in the lobby, she´s present in the hotel area. Cleaning is sufficient and the cleaning lady is a pleasnat girl, too. Try the beach bar, they make excellent drinks. A bit expensive though. My only complain about Dafni Hotel is the stray cats, which are very pushy.
They opener impolite ,this place is not a luxury hotel at all! Besides the owners son who run the tiny beach bar is impolite too! We paid extra the sunbeds , terrible cafe and salad ! On our arrival and before we eat there he had s bad word for all the neighbors!
We arrived at the "hotel" in the early evening late May 2019. No one was in the terrible looking reception, so we had to wait quite a long time before the woman that owns the hotel showed up. She appeared to be so tired and was too exhausted to give us a receipt for the tourist tax we paid. She just gave us the key without showing us to the room or asking if we needed help with the luggage. When we opened the hotel room door we could not believe our eyes. The bed covers were wrinkled with disgusting stains! We immediately removed the covers and put them on the floor. The rest og the room was very dirty and it did not even seem like the room was cleaned. We left the room to get some dinner and called Ving Reiser, the company that we travelled with and the company that has this horrible hotel on its list! We said that we wanted to change hotel as quickly as possible due to the unsanitary conditions. Unfortunately we had to stay at Dafni Beach that night. We went to sleep with our clothes on and did not want to use the shower that was super dirty with hair and disgusting pink lumps of something strange. The next day while we were waiting to get a feedback about getting a new hotel, I went to the reception to get the receipt for the tourist tax we paid for when we arrived the day before. Once again no one was in the filthy reception. I went to the hotel beach bar where the son (in his twenties, tall and muscular) of the owner works. I asked for a receipt, but he said it was not possible because his mother was not back until the next day. I said that he must surely also be able to give us a receipt, but no. Then he started acting very aggressive and angry and asked me how I could be so rude to put the bed covers on the floor...! I told him they were stained and dirty. He said that I was very impolite to do this and said his hotel was super clean...I said I did not agree and then he got SUPER aggressive. He started walking towards me in a threatening manner, so I began to walk away. He followed after me and then he SPIT on me!!!!! I became totally shocked and afraid because he was acting very unstable. We were so shocked and horrified by his behavior and the condition of the hotel. so we packed our bags and took a taxi to another hotel. I have travelled a lot, but Dafni Beach Hotel is thee worst hotel with thee most impolite and crazy hotel owners I have ever experienced. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason! I hope Ving Reiser has enough common sense to remove this hotel from their list on Skiathos. We were told by others on the island that the woman that owns the hotel is known for spitting on people and that she once slapped a Ving Reiser employee, so I guess we know where the son got his behavior...…
Well, it's such a shame that the management treat guests like they are an inconvenience. Kitchen consists of a kettle and single electric ring not even a dishcloth or tea towel. The public area's are really nice but neither bar was ever open same as reception. The location is great but you'll have to go to one of the local tavernas for food and drinks. Maybe the profit target had been met for the season hence the no interaction with guests.
We arrived in pouring rain having been dropped off at bus stop number 4 and just a pointed direction as to where to go which wasn't very good. We then didn't realise that our luggage had been left not outside the entrance to the property but at the end of the road - again in the rain! On checking in we were given room 4 but having read previous reviews we declined asking for a different room. Dafni was none too happy at this eventually offering us room 18 which was perfect for us. Upstairs at the back, so there was no direct sun in to the room therefore keeping it relatively cool. It was a large room and reasonably well kept. We did however have to ask for clean towels when they had only been changed once in 10 days. The sunbed situation was ridiculous - I'm an early riser and would go down (and stay down) at 6.30am reading on the beach, but not once in 2 weeks were there any sunbeds on the front row available. We checked a Midnight one night and there were no towels down so I have no idea what time people were getting up. We didn't like that you had to pay €8 per day for the sunbeds in your own hotel where you could practically hold hands with the person on the next sunbed, they were that close. The Dafni is in a good location for walking in to Skiathos Town and there is a supermarket close by. I dont think we will be returning to the Dafni or to Skiathos as the beach situation at the other resorts was as bad if not worse, only if you have a car can you get to 'true' Greece.…
traveled with a friend and stayed at Hotel Dafni. Nice hotel on the beach. the owner was very nice. There is a bar to the hotel, here I recommend buying a drink. have not tasted such good drinks anywhere else. the room cleaning could be better. but was okay. recommend this hotel!
We've just returned from the Hotel Dafni after spending two weeks there this is not a hotel it is apartments. The position on the beach is excellent but the main bar did not open once and reception was never manned. With no pool and then to be charged 8 euros for the hotels own beds on the beach was a definite rip off. The snack bar had a very limited choice and no atmosphere won't be going back.
My husband and I stayed here for 1 week, the apartment was very clean, we didn't cook in here so can't comment on the facilities, the owner (Daphne) was very pleasant and stood and chatted whenever I saw her, we didn't have a hairdryer in our room but she made sure the maid got us one, the bar staff were friendly and we enjoyed a nice cold beer and cocktails. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the beach which was perfect for us.
