Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We stayed at ‘Sirene Blue Hotel’ for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay.
The hotel overlooks Monasteri Bay which makes for an absolutely stunning sea view from the terraces; the bar and restaurants and ( so we understand) from the majority of rooms. The interior of the hotel is light and airy with modern and unique furniture . Both the Lobby Bar and Restaurant are very comfortable with the latter being totally ‘open top’, the bar partially so. Both are well appointed with comfortable furniture and serving a range of drinks and food. We found the terrace leading away from the Swimming Pool area to be quite quiet with nice sun beds. Obviously the area nearest to the sea was busier and it is necessary to reserve your favourite sun beds.
The staff all worked extremely hard. The Receptionists provide a warm welcome to all and can be relied upon to help with any query. Lia from the Lobby Bar was lovely - she could always relied upon to remember our favourite drinks and gave us much interesting information about the hotel and surrounding area.
There is a short walk to a monastery and small beach but please note the hotel is situated on a main road with no bus service so a private car or taxis are a necessity and can be booked from reception - cost around 10 euros.
We will certainly return to this lovely hotel.

The location of the hotel is magical with the best view of Poros not to fill it. The stay really relaxes you in any area of the hotel you choose. As I visit it for the last 8 years the reception remains excellent and willing for anything with Mr. Iota and the evening with the always smiling Mr. Vangelis to stand out. The rooms have been renovated what was necessary, the care products they provide you cover you fully. The breakfast with fresh juices (orange, lemonade and butterfly with the latter being missing for several days) unfortunately does not meet the ambitions of the five star with good quality and taste though but with a small variety without alternating with many times the sweets not to get ahead and there is no renewal with itself or something different. The gym area is jealous of new equipment and sea views. Finally, it is urgently necessary to renovate the playground which is not suitable for this hotel.

From the moment you arrive at the hotel you are greeted by the amazing, friendly, helpful reception staff. The aromas of the beautiful scented candles and the comfortable large sofas in the lobby are a a lovely touch as you walk in. Our sea view room was lovely and all you would need and more. The bed was large, very comfortable and we slept really well. Everything we needed we just asked the wonderful ladies at reception…and they made sure every request was taken care of. The view from our room was breathtaking and worth booking a sea view room! The breakfast is fabulous, a great choice of cold and hot foods for every one. My favourite was the Greek yoghurt with sour cherries and the homemade granola..simply delicious! The taverna above the Beach serves the most amazing lunches…the fried crayfish was a favourite with us and we can see why others moor their boats in the sea around the hotel to have a delicious lunch here with an amazing view! The beach area is just spectacular..we spent most of our 14 days on the comfy sun beds on the decking area..drinks being brought by the lovely , helpful, energetic staff! The sea is beautifully clear and you can see all the fish very well.. the fish enjoyed being fed bread by us every morning! I believe in giving back as they allow us to swim in their home! It really is a little paradise..this was our first trip to Poros and we are booking the hotel again for next year..you have won our Hearts Sirene Blue and Poros! Thank you to the owner and his amazing staff team! 💙🇬🇷

There is no doubt that the Sirene Blue has a nice location, but, it is too far from Poros to be considered - in Poros. An 8 minute taxi ride outside Poros. The property is a renovated older property with rather tight accommodation, constrained by the older design of the property. Cleanliness is low on the list of priorities. Dust on ledges are missed by the Crew. In common areas the situation is repeated. Bar Staff, when not busy should pay attention to cleanliness - but are more focussed on their Mobile Phones. This is a common challenge throughout the hotel. 5 Star Staff do not consult/use their phones when on duty ! When we stayed the Hotel only had Bar food available excepting at the weekend, when the Restaurant opened. A 5 Star Hotel does not operate like this. The Bar menu is very limited. Reception Staff are not very Customer Focussed or Friendly, with one exception, The Night Porter ! I regret not having his name , but, he is a thorough Gentleman. There was no smiling welcome as was experienced in other Greek Hotels on our journey. No enthusiasm for their Hotel. The Beach Bar had a different flavour. The Team would make every effort to please. They were positive and charming. The food here was good Beach Bar food ! And the access to the beach is a real positive with this hotel. When we stayed there, the hotel did not have many guests, so getting a position on the Beach or Deck was not a real challenge. Certainly spaces are limited ! Generally around the hotel maintenance is required. There are lots of things needing attention, and upgrade. It is not a 5 Star Hotel as one would ordinarily expect. It was a disappointing stay overall as costs for Food and Drink were pitched at the 5 Star level. Not having an open Restaurant available, we walked down the hill to the restaurant Galini which is well worth a visit. Traditional and local food served (slowly), freshly cooked with local wine which meets all requirements. Overall disappointing that the Sirene Blue did not make the grade. We expected more.

Upon entry one feels it is a ship! The top floor is the first floor. A spectacular view but sadly only a semi renovated hotel. After that joyous view it then becomes tiresome all the way down 6 floors to the beach, which is very small and all small pebbles , the type that make you wince. The hotel has also encouraged adjacent cruise boat moorings , probably to add a glitzy style. But of course to the detriment of hotel swimmers. The expansive and beautiful sea was just a permanent ‘sea of bubbles’ . Nobody likes swimming in pollution even if the view is wonderful! The hotel’s pandering to these nautical terrors is manifest on the top floor where all the renovation money has been poured into chrome and mirror roof top bars and restaurants for these high paying visitors at night. Regular guests are not so looked after. The breakfast room is like a school refectory and woe betide those with baby and pram. No ramp just steps after steps. In fact if one wants to get fit then this is the hotel for you. Just steps and more steps. And they cant claim a double lift because they may have decorated this cramped space with shiny surfaces but it is still the old fashioned style which means 2 passengers and not much else. Lengthy waits face those wanting breakfast! The hotel is obviously from the 70s era and the renovations have only been on the surfaces. The rooms bear witness. The corridor outside our room was an astonishing to behold procession of wall mounted old fashions air con units all neatly painted over but not changed! And if you want a clean and tidy 1970s bathroom then this is for you! All the fixtures and fittings are from that age. The reception will point out in their defense that the bed is a Cocomat, the best on the world market and sleep quality is indeed very good. They will also add that the other-side of the hotel is 100% fully renovated, so make sure you ask for this, even if an extra 50e per night? There is a beach kitchen stroke bar on the first level above the beach. Not at all a fun place and certainly not Greek in the hospitality sense. Probably because the owners do not care. They have a captive audience, can charge what they like and have no inclination to be welcoming. Which means most guests jump in their cars and head for the better eateries in the Port. The owners pay no attention to the Greek Experience and prefer something more antiseptic and boring. We shall not return.

There is nothing good about this place only the view and beach and the beach bar service. Noisy hotel first thing in the morning and one night people still talking at 3.30 in the morning. No hotel restaurant open. It’s a 45 min walk to Poros.. but we found a local restaurant 10 min away. Galene, amazing food. Bar food in hotel very limited. Bar staff smoke out the back and smoke wafts in. The rooms are small! You have to pay for water in your room, you have to pay for your Greek coffee at breakfast! This is not 5 star! The skirting in our room has never been cleaned. Housekeeping don’t know how to make a bed! No turn down service (which is expected in 5 star) no coffee tea making facilities in room. Not to be recommended.

Cycled around the island of Poros with an electric bike. Lay down on the beach around lunchtime at this hotel. You take a lift to -7 and then you go through a cave to the beach. Beautiful place and such beautiful blue water. Lovely sunbeds by the sea. A button on the parasol provides control. Ordered a club sandwich (lots of it!) and drank nice wine. It was their last day before they close for the winter season (29-9) so we could only order ‘snacks’.

Great hotel on top of the small mountain so stunning views. Private beach with sun loungers, beach towels and waiters taking your orders. Spent an afternoon swimming and sipping cocktails. Great afternoon. Decided to eat at the roof top restaurant in the evening. The food was good as was the wine but it’s not cheap. €19 for a starter. Stunning views. The room is comfortable with a balcony overlooking the sea allowing you to dose off as the waves gently lap at the shore. Staff are friendly, eager to please and speak English. A perfect escape from the maddening crowd.

Thank goodness we only had to suffer this hotel for 2 nights. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, the rest of the staff couldn’t give a dam, they were rude and unhelpful. We were sitting with friends at the restaurant overlooking the beach, when a waiter came over and started to wind down the large umbrellas causing debris to fall all over us.
The room we stayed in was old & tired and needed a serious update. The bathroom was not big enough to swing a cat in, and the bed was as hard as a rock and uncomfortable.
The beach is small & not enough sun beds in my opinion for the number of guests this hotel can accommodate. The bathing deck looked great, but good luck getting a place to sit.
The only saving grace for Sirene Blue Resort is the beautiful views from the rooms.

A palpably better hotel in a palpably better location. The staff was excellent and kind and quite helpful. The hotel very clean, as for the view there are no words. The only bad thing was that they have everything and you don't want to go anywhere else

Hello, I just read your question as I have not been reviewing for many months. Although I doubt you will be visiting Poros under the circumstances, just so that you know for next time. You don't have to book seats by the beach and they are free.
We just went down for a swim before breakfast, left out towels on the sunbeds and returned after breakfast.
I really hope you get to visit one day soon. Swimming in these clear waters is magic. We also love how easy it is to go to the beach from our room. Take the lift and there you are!!
This hotel is outside Poros and a short taxi ride. Between Poros ad the Hotel there are many tavernas which are quite nice and beside the sea. From the Hotel one can walk for about 10/15 minutes downhill. Going back to the hotel is slower as it is uphill.
To arrive from Athens we boarded a hydrofoil (hellenic Seaways flyingcat 6) ferry from Piraeus port to poros port. The journey took roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes. From port all taxis are a flat rate of 6-7 euros (10 minute drive). There is also a public bus that runs hourly and drops off right at hotel for 1.60 euros each.
Hydra is stated to be 25-40 minutes on a hyrdafoil ferry (but sometimes detours back to piraeus before return to poros from hydra). Check ferry schedules (there are no straight poros-hydra day tour excursions).
"Call and ask for room even if the website says booked.
The beach there is pure heaven. In addition they have 2 swimming pools. Do not miss but buy bathing shoes before. "
There are more places to choose from in the Poros area.
