It must have been grand, once... We were upgraded to a suite, but a nice room would have been sufficient. The interior seemed badly maintained, especially compared with the reception area. And speaking about the reception; the brusque female receptionist didn't actually add to the stay... Bathroom was nice and clean. Breakfast is good, we enjoyed it on the terrace... More

We regularly visit Achaia for vacation to spend time with family. This visit, we decided to try the Porto Rio Hotel and Casino for a few nights, as its website describe itself "amongst the most modern for four (4) star hotels in Achaia." The description of the hotel cannot be farther from our experience...it was truly a disappointment in terms... More

The area is nice, the pool and the sea also, but this hotel is absolutely tasteless, for "nouveau-riche" travellers, while the personnel is mostly non-professional. As for the breakfast orange juice.... In an area full of orange trees they serve a horrible yellow chemical similee juice!

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. When we arrived, they didn't have our reservation, but honored the price I had on my confirmation and upgraded us to a Junior Suite for the inconvenience. The view from the upgraded room was awesome! We had a full sea view and from our other window, we had a sea/bridge/pool view. It... More

The Porto Rio is closer to Rio than to Patras - short walk to a number of enjoyable seaside restaurants and bars. Though clean, rooms were definitely showing signs of wear. The rooms were stuffy - central air didn't really work and the only way to cool down the rooms was to leave the window open. Water pressure was variable,... More

We traveled to Greece for our honeymoon and booked this hotel through RCI. The experience was not good at all we even stayed for two nights at another hotel in order to avoid returning to this hotel. First of all the smell of cigarettes is spread all around the lobby and in the floor is where the rooms are, and... More

We had 3 drinks each with my friends in a period of 4 hours. Not even one of us was visibly intoxicated, we were gambling for four hours and most of us were winning, when the waitress told us that "she couldn't serve us alcohol any more". We offered to pay for the drinks but she said no. We asked... More

It is a high level hotel, fabulous, amazing, high level management of Managing Director Dimitris, he is a high level specialist, everything is really excellent, fast wifi, friendly staff, a very good breakfast, a very good value for money. People at restaurant are doing great service, Evangelina at reception is doing great job. I am completely satisfied with Managing Director... More

Quiet (in winter) location right on the beach, good facilities, good service, good breakfast, efficient staff. My room was a little shabby (wallpaper peeling, window frame paint cracking), evidence of the severe recession in Greece, but it was clean and comfortable, even spacious, with a great view of the sea and the sunset. The hotel also has a casino, the... More

The facilities at hotel are quiet nice, but like a lot of other places in Greece, starting to show the bad state of the economy and in need of a few repairs. Staff very friendly, we found it a bit out of the way cause we didn't have a car and food was very expensive. The view was fantastic and... More
