Stayed two nights in Pension Posidon, based on other travellers reviews and was not really impressed with the service that George provided. The rooms were not made and the towels were not changed as you would expect... basically there was no housekeeping done in the rooms at all. When we asked to pay by credit card George was not keen in accepting it and wanted cash payment instead. Breakfast was ok but not the greatest. Finally for all travelling in Greece, it is mandatory according to Greek law that receipts are provided once any payment is made, wether it is a hotel room payment or whether you are dining out in a restaurant or simply buying a coffee. Think twice before making a reservation at Posidon.

I stayed here based upon comments in my travel guide. The owner Giorgios carried the Olympic torch at the Olympic games in Munich and Montreal. How about that?! He gave me some good advice for dinner and recommended a shortcut for my onward trip. The comfort is basic but I enjoyed my stay a lot.

I have been there during my holidays in greece and I have spent two nights in this pension. It is an old style hotel, but everything was clean and working. The managers of the pension were a very cute middle-aged people who treat their customers as part of their family. Very enjoyed staying!

The pension is clean and excellent located. 1 min walk from the main street and 5 min walk from the museum. I would highly recommend it, decent breakfast as well. Internet WI-FI worked perfect. The only comment the rooms might have been a little bigger.

Pesion Posidon is very close to city center and ancient Olympia (max.10 min on foot). The room was clean with AC. Very nice owners :) We had very hard pilows in our room. There was no fridge in the room but very nice owners let us use fridge in reception so not so bad :)

Olympia is a quaint town located some 230kms from Athens where visitors are mostly found as day trippers and less night stayers. This hotel is located quite close to the museum/archeological site. We had no problem in finding out the place as it is located on the main street with most of the other shops. There is a minimart and few eateries as you walk down the street. The rooms were small but good for just a night’s stay. The owners George and his wife were way too helpful. As we reached the hotel after a daylong tour, they served us coffee for which they not even charged us. The coffee was refreshing. Not only this, they had provided us some cutlery from their own apartment which is located in the 2nd floor of the building. This was needed for preparing some instant porridge for our little one. Their hospitality was so warm that it seemed like we had visited a known friend and not staying in a hotel. We stayed there just for a night halt and started our journey again by 8 next morning, however within that short time we were made us feel at home. There’s a small secret about George… He himself was an Olympic participant and ran with the Olympic torch back in 70s. We thank to them for their hospitality.

First stayed at Pension Posidon almost 20years ago with my parents and staid this time with my family. This place is truly a nice small piece of heaven when visiting Olympia. Rooms are clean, comfortable and have all of amenities you would need. Breakfast is simple and well rounded. Location is perfect, walking distance from the Main Street with gift shops and several tavernas. Parking is not a problem. The best part of the pension, are the owners, very attentive and friendly couple with a lot of interesting anecdotes (husband was a torch bearer on 2 occasions). I definitely recommend Pension Posidon and would encourage any travelled to consider it on their next journey.

We were really tired from a long drive when we arrived at Olympia and stopped at the first hotel we came across. Yes, it was clean and cheap but it was also pretty basic. The walls must have been thin as you could hear the neighbours snoring. The furniture was old fashioned but adequate. The bathroom was small but the shower was good. The host was very welcoming and helpful with information. Breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate. If we had looked around, we would have found a better hotel but if you're after clean and cheap, this is a good option.

Ask George the hotel manager about his involvement in the 1968 Olympic in Mexico. He is very easy going and relax. We were given a corner room with window on two sides, the room is not too big, simply furnished but very pleasant, there is also a nice balcony to sit. Breakfast was typical Greek style with yogurt and honey, cheese, bread, ham and egg, filling and plentiful.
