Staying at Niki’s is a throwback to simpler times!! A gem, in a gem of a village (Skala Sikamineas). Niki is so lovely. Everything is clean and tidy. Rooms are basic, but have what you need (including aircon). Most rooms have a little balcony looking out to sea. Perfect!
I traveled to Skala Sikamineas to volunteer, and I stayed at the Pension Niki for the first couple weeks of my trip. Niki and her family are wonderfully generous people, who made me feel at home in a place I'd never been to before. The rooms are air conditioned and cleaned often, and the courtyard is a gorgeous place to relax. It's one of the more expensive hotels in Skala Sikamineas, but the amenities are well worth it.
The host, Niki, is delightful - but she doesn't speak English, so if you don't speak Greek you have to speak to her son, who then explains to Niki. The rooms are reasonably comfortable, though the beds, and pillows, are marginal. Overall, the location is excellent but the property is a bit expensive for what is on offer.
the most romantic hotel ever.. we loved sitting on the roof top locking above the sea toward the coast of turky, watching fisherboats an dolphins. Around the very nice little village were just olive trees.
A Good place. Nikki was available and kind and giving. It was tidy, we enjoyed out outdoor space, as our room was quite small. It was clean and close to where we were volunteering to help with the refugee crisis.
Cute, modest studio with kitchenette, dining table and bathroom downstairs and bedroom upstairs. Had a cute little patio out front. Very comfortable and convenient. Someone from family that runs the place were always there, and had an enjoyable stay.
We stayed in a two-story simple, clean apartment with a small kitchen on the bottom floor. Very good location, within walking distance to the port. Niki was very nice and offered drinks and treats every time we stooped by the lobby area. Although she speaks minimal english, we were able to communicate our basic needs. WARNING: CASH ONLY!
the location was fantastic. skala sykamineas is such a lovely, enchanted place. the pension has balcony with nice views. overall, it is clean and neat. room was little bit tiny. the owner lady was kind and friendly. nice place to take rest, to get some fresh air, to eat perfect seafood in the restaurants nearby accompanied with ouzo.
An older style pension in beautiful Skala Skamnia's, Mytilini island. Whilst the decor is a bit tired, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The service and hospitality are delightful. Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful old port.
The room could not be more basic in terms of decor and amenities; cheap furniture, no TV, rotting window. The worst part of my stay, however, was that the bathroom had not been cleaned since the previous renter; there was hair and dirt on all the surfaces as well as small bugs in the bathtub. No one had bothered to clean it! This is not acceptable when charging €45 per night, during low season for Greek islands. Even worse, the lodging is clearly taking advantage of the refugee crisis and charging €45 during low-season simply because NGOs and volunteers have arrived in the area to help and they are willing to pay (this area is a small beachfront village where boats filled with refugees are arriving.) Please note, before the refugee crisis, rooms at Pension Niki went for about €20. Profiteering at the expense of refugees' drama is truly a disgrace.…
