I would like to thank the entire staff at Hotel “Afroditi-Villa” for such a truly wonderful holiday. This was our second visit, after discovering the island in 2019. The hotel is informal, really relaxed and well appointed, all the staff are very friendly. The swimming pool is of pretty good size and kept extremely clean, there are very large sun umbrellas dotted around the pool. The gardens are meticulously maintained. For summer 2021, 5 brand new de-luxe rooms will be available in the newly constructed building next door. Breakfast consisted of a large choice of freshly prepared hot & cold food. We only dined at the hotel one evening and both choose spaghetti lobster (an island speciality) and it was simply SENSATIONAL similar to last year. The bar is manned until late. The hotel is a quick, cheap taxi ride from Myrina the capital of the island. We can thoroughly recommend, the taxi services of father & son team of Dennis & George (+30 694 4500 572) for all taxi services. They are both safe, extremely reliable, speak good English and drive a large Mercedes. The “Blue Flag Beach” at Plati is all sand and extremely safe for children and is a mere 5 min stroll from the hotel. We particularly liked Niriides Beach Bar, where for €5 per day spend, at the very friendly well stocked beach bar, 2 sunbeds and an umbrella next to the sea, were provided free of charge! We hired a car and visited various other beaches all over the island and all benefited from pure sand and the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea. The roads are deserted, albeit the only traffic jams that we encountered, were caused by sheep or goats in the middle of the road! Petrol is around €1.70 per litre. Our favourite taverna by far, was “Taverna Man-Tella” situated in the tiny hillside village of Sardes some 15 minutes ride in a taxi. The passionate service & food was simply superb and completely faultless! I believe it’s necessary to book this idyllic rustic restaurant, about 1 week in advance in the high season. We also greatly enjoyed our significantly more expensive meal, at Ennia Po’ chs in the village of Lychna some 30 mins away and again, it is advisable to book well in advance. Other restaurants where we sampled good food in Myrina were Sinalo, Faros and To Limanaki or a brisk “hike” up the very steep hill, to the tiny Plati village by the church, were our local friendly Tavernas Kaloudita and O Sozos. This is a really friendly, good value, almost unheard of totally unspoiled smallish Greek Island, situated in crystal clear waters of North Aegean Sea, with fab beaches, all very laid back and the proud, lovely welcoming Greek people still like us, I am pleased to say. Long may it continue! We look forward to returning. . . .

Close to the beach (5 min walk). Very nice gardens and a pool. Nice view over the beach, especially for the upper rooms.Vast, private, free parking. Moderate breakfast, (exactly the same every day). Friendly staff. Clean. A little bit overpriced.

As one travels the world it happens from time to time, not quite often though, that one arrives at a place where he is treated not like a guest but like an old friend. This is most definitely the case at Villa Afroditi. Upon arrival the owners Afroditi and Panagiotis with their son George welcome you and from that moment on you kinda belong to the family. On day one one of our kids had a health problem and Panagiotis absolutely refused to call a taxi for us, he took us to the hospital in Myrina himself and arranged everything at the ER reception so in less than an hour we were back at the hotel. Needless to say the hotel itself is superbly run, with very much attention to detail. The rooms are lovely and spacious, we had a family room with two separate bedrooms each with its own AC. The pool area is never crowded, neither the pool bar. Throughout the day you get to choose from delicious greek food at the restaurant, mostly prepared by either Afroditi in the main kitchen or George at the bbq. We had a wonderful time with our new friends at Villa Afroditi and promised to certainly come back.

This is my second stay here, and it feels like home. I have adopted the owners like family, everyone is welcoming, staff friendly and professional. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable. With a pool on-site, it is a great bonus after a day out to come and relax with a drink or a snack, a fully operating kitchen you can stay in and have a meal. It is a quick walk to the beautiful Platy beach, a 5-minute drive to the main port. I will book this place every single time within a heartbeat. Book early to avoid disappointment as it gets booked out. The owners are fluent in English and Greek which helps immensely if you don't speak Greek.
