Staying at Evon’s Rooms while attending a group herbalism retreat was sheer perfection. A true gentleman, Evon was the perfect host for our diverse group. Rooms were clean and well appointed with laundry services and gorgeous landscapes gardens. Evon put out a big breakfast every morning that included local baked goods, cheeses, preserves, honey etc. The cafe offers delectable savory pies and other greek dishes in a casual atmosphere. The on site massage was a special treat and the massage therapists were very sweet and knowledgeable. Evon was happy to help arrange everything from rental cars to beach accessories for kayaking and snorkeling. He even arranged for local goods to be stocked in the adjacent market so we could buy local soaps, honeys, dried herbs and other special things. Just a minute walk from the beach, Evon’s rooms will always be a place to return to. Warm, welcoming and inclusive to all types of travelers I had a blast getting to know Evon and his staff.

Very clean, well equipped and a few meters only from the beach. Good WiFi, quiet place with a mini market next door. The owner was always there to advise us where to go and satisfy our needs. The massage was excellent!

My friends and I had a wonderful time staying at Evon's Rooms in Ikaria! Highly recommend this spot as a place to stay when on the island. Evon can also help with activities on the island like boat tours. Thank's Evon we'll be back! :)

I have visited Evon’s Rooms many times and have enjoyed every minute.
It’s a 2 minute walk from the beach . Evon is the most welcoming host and has many suggestions of things to do. The rooms are immaculately clean and every room has a balcony. His rooms are very close to the airport and the atmosphere is relaxing and very friendly. I visit twice a year now!

Being at Evon’s Rooms was like coming home. My mother and I spent nine nights in Evon’s rooms. Evon is a great host! He made our stay very comfortable. The beach is 3Minutes ( walking distance) away. We are looking forward to spending more time there

Evon’s beachfront bar and sun lounges is a hidden gem! Exquisite location and excellent service from Evon’s team -especially Leonidas and his wife are the most welcoming hosts! They looked after us always with a big smile! A must visit in Ikaria especially if you like the authentic Greek hospitality and the wild nature!

On many vacations in Greece since the 1970s we have never been better accommodated anywhere. We spent three weeks at Evons’ in May and June 2016. Even a high-priced Ikaria hotel in Evdilos at the end of our stay did not match the home comforts Evon offers: laundry, ironing gear, kitchenette, good beds to name only some. Like a mother hen minding her chicks, he’s always looking out whether we’re enjoying ourselves. He’ll take you to a village feast, if you like, and he’s so well connected all over the island he can fix you up with almost anything you might be looking for. Supermarket right next door (which he started), his own café next door to the other side, 200 metres to the cleanest pebble beach you’re likely to find anywhere in Greece (as village chairman he campaigns and pitches in to keep it like that) – unbeatable. Two fabulous tavernas right on the beach. We felt really at home. Faros is a bit boring in the evening but modestly brighter lights are 20 minutes driving away in the port of Agios Kirikos. You need a car, though, to get about. When we were there, there was no public bus service. And driving can be quite scary on hairpin-curving mountain roads. - Brigitte and Diet Simon, Hamburg, Germany.

What a friendly island Ikaria is and no more so than Evon and his lovely rooms. There was everything you could possibly hope for and so clean. Added to this the ambience of his lovely bar, and excellent food - nothing was too much trouble. As we came away we felt that we had left a friend and Evon even insisted that we took a pot of homemade jam (he called it marmalade) to remember our stay there. We used the rooms as our base and headed out everyday to explore the local beaches and then were really welcomed back in the evening with a wonderful meal and washed down by lovely drinks. Evon was an amazing host and even phoned us as we were on our way to the airport and emailed us to see that we had arrived home safely. Truly memorable. Thank you Evon

We stayed in Faros for a week, in Evon's rooms (in room 2).
As far as I know, its the best place you can find in the area. Almost at the beach (20 meters or so), so it is an ideal place if you like to swim. It's also close to the local taverns and cafe/bars, but you might not even visit them, as the rooms have their own cafe/restaurant.
The place has everything you might need: tv with paid satelite content, free wi-fi for your devices, internet room if you don't have a laptop, an entairtainment room with games (fuzzball, billiard table etc), a/c in rooms, full equiped kitchen etc
However, the best reason to visit this place is the owner (and the staff), as he is a really nice and helpful guy, who enjoys his work and always tries to make your stay very pleasant. He even gave us a ride to the airport with his personal car, to help us avoid payng a cab.

Evon has been around the Ikaria hospitality scene for quite a time - he's also a dab hand at ecology by being very active in cleaning up some of Ikaria's awful dumped eyesores - but maybe getting a shade tired in catering for Ikaria's alternate tourists/travellers.
The location at Faros is very l a i d b a c k ... Slow, slow is the buzzword for Faros/Fanari at the eastern tip of Ikaria and just under the lip of the runway of the island's rustic (rusting perhaps) airport: don't be scared of the arriving plans as they buzz your head over your morning frappé and fried eggs ...
Evon's Rooms are as good as they get in Faros - if you like 90s or 00s décor and facilities. Greece has moved on, yet Evon's has stayed resolutely fixed in time. Rooms are clean, promptly serviced and 90/00s chique, but probably won't appeal to folk in their 40s+ or even 40s - looking for a spot of classy modernity... The room reviewed here was one were you would need traffic lights to get from one side to the other if you are a couple. If you are over a certain size, you will not fit in the minuscule shower. Caveat emptor.
A preponderance of signs with instructions on what to do and what not to do is irksome to this once professional travel reviewer. Less is best. Relatively high charges for amenities such as table, soccer, billiards, or air hockey surely make visitors go "ouch"!
Internet is good with wi-fi networks covering all the building at a workable speed. Mobile phone coverage is generally good, but can fluctuate from E to 4G at will. On site computers reflect the trends of of the aforesaid 90s/00s and are probably less of an attraction to travellers that they were some years ago. They could do with a serious update too.
Evon does the odd food special like honey puffs once a week and is an affable host though, being an Ikarian, holds a distinctly quirky approach to people relations and time.
Come to Faros and Evon if you are looking for a left-of-centre retro gig and if you like to sleep in l o n g.
