Quite a nice little boutique hotel well located and walkable to most of the 'must see' sites/sights, lots of restaurants, bars etc. and a 5euro taxi ride to the train station. In the main it was OK, but I can't see why other reviewers have raved about it. It was clean, it had sufficient space, the bed was fairly comfortable and the price was reasonable.
But there were several "little" things that, in total, detracted from the experience of staying there:
It was noisy, oh so noisy! There was no drinking glass in the room (no probs getting one when I asked), the shower fluctuated hot/cold depending on other users in the place, the safe didn't lock so was unusable and the cutlery at breakfast had caked-on food.
Don't be put off, it's not too bad, but I think you could probably do better

Hotel is recently renovated (at least our room was), in a very good and quiet neighbourhood. It is located in the center of Thessaloniki within 3 minutes walk from Aristotelous square and Egnatias Street. Rooms are very clean and the breakfast was just enough to start the day. It offers late breakfast until 12:30 am for those who would like to enjoy the night-life of Thessaloniki. Ladies in the reception and in the breakfast was more than helpful and polite for everything you asked. Free WiFi with good signal in the room and reception was provided. The only thing that can enrich the room facilities are slippers and body-lotion. We definitely stay at this hotel on our next visit in Thessaloniki.

Pros:
Location close to the action
Quiet
Spotlessly clean
Staff have command of English and are helpful
Competitive rates

Cons:
Limited parking
Rooms smallish
One chair in room therefore second person must stand or utilize bed - small stool to fit under desk is the answer
Shower cubicle rather small and a challenge for large person
Shower water pressure is totally inadequate and unacceptable
Shower head is a joke and needs immediate replacement
Although the premises has a no smoking policy cigarette smoke was detected near the staircase upon departure
Breakfast adequate but gets a bit boring with identical menu each day

Bottom Line - Would I stay there again?

Answer - Maybe

Very small room, not at all boutique hotel. Absolutely no value for money. You could hear next room bathroom noises. Small TV, no amenities in the bathroom. Good location though and acceptable breakfast until 12:30 in the pluses. Friendly reception.

Zaliki hotel is locate on Zaliki Street 6, in Thessaloniki, Greece, very near the Egnatia Boulevard and Aristoteles Plaza. Probably the initial destination was changed during the time.
Actually have one basement, a ground floor for reception, breakfast and a meeting room and 6 other levels. I think that the total number of rooms is around 20-24, so very few and we need to pay one night for each room in advance.
The staff is friendly, the building itself it is interesting but for me was not the best experience. Why? Because we was 9 friends there few days before meaning 7 single rooms and 1 double room. In this condition I have seen all the rooms from the levels 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The rooms from the levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 are large, OK, some of them with the main street view and balconies, the bathroom with a bath tub, flat TV. The back view rooms without balconies, of course. Al of them with an area of around 20-22 square meters.
My room was at 5th level, 502 and a friend of mine stayed at 501. Between these rooms there is a door, closed mainly, both of them with less than 10-11 square meters. 502 with a double bed, so the free space in the room is more or less nothing, the bathroom with shower, just a small window and without balcony. The 501 room with a terrace, but also a very few free space (so these rooms have a half of a normal room surface).
I passed the problem of the room, even the price I paid was the same like for previous mentioned, but it was very warm (being so small and with a very small window) and the air condition (centralized) does not function yet. The answer was that during the night it is cold, but actually all of us (meaning a small window in my case but two large windows in the rest) kept the windows completely opened during the night it was not cold at all.
The prices we paid were 50 euro per single room (not depending of the room position or surface) and 65 euro for a double room.
The maid forgot to refill the shower gel, of course probably because there are “too many rooms”.
The breakfast is not very various and daily is the same.
If you come with a car (even a taxi) is very difficult to stay even just to take off the baggage because the Zaliki Street has just one way and just one car may pass. There is a parking building very near, but for instance, Sunday when we came was closed so we were forced to go far away to another parking building. We have the same problems at leaving, coming with the cars to put baggage was very difficult with a cue of cars behind waiting for us... and using the klaxons.
The wifi is OK but all the time you close the device and then you open you need to restart the wifi.

Zaliki Boutique Hotel is wonderful small hotel in central Thessaloniki. The staff members are extremely helpful in recommendations on things to do. Reception makes that extra effort of making a stay there very pleasant. Housekeeping does a great job cleaning the rooms. Beds are extremely comfortable.

As one of the previous reviewers already wrote, the problem with this hotel is that it's not a boutique hotel and not a four star hotel. Were this a three star hotel, I would have given it much more favourable ratings, but given the four stars they claim, which just isn't according to international standards, I have to say otherwise.

First thing first, the combination of new rooms, okay location and very helpful staff makes this hotel good value for money. Just don't expect anything luxurious the name might imply. It's close to Egnatia boulevard, maybe a ten minutes' walk to the seaside. The rooms are clean and the whole hotel either new or renovated, either way shiny. That's good. We chose it because it has parking, which might be problem in downtown Thessaloniki. The price was what we were willing to pay, no problem with that.

The first problem comes with the boutique claim. Boutique hotels are, to my knowledge, hotels with exceptional décor, where the rooms are usually furnished in a different, interesting and/or quirky way. Zaliki has uniform room design, nothing special. What's more, even the deluxe rooms are really tiny, there's almost no place to put your suitcases, especially if they're larger ones and most of the storage space of the closet is stacked up with spare blankets, pillows, etc. There's bed which looks like a folding-out couch and a small desk by the side of the opposite wall and that's it. Bathroom also tiny, but what's worse, there's glass door with hole in the bottom, so you can see and hear the other person in there... At this point, one really doesn't care about the hotel logo embroidered on the towels...

Very poor sleep quality. Walls are thin and with a combination of tiles on the corridors, I was being woken up during the night by sounds of people talking in the corridors several stories below me, banging of doors, then in the morning by maids running up and down with their trollies.

Breakfast has a decent selection that will feed you, the problem is when you don't really eat bread and pastries. There were some scrambled eggs, but not very good ones.

Overall, as I've said, good value hotel in a good location and with nice and very polite staff. Just don't book it with expectations of a boutique hotel or a four star one.

Hotel Zaliki is a fantastic 3* hotel centrally located and within easy reach of the center. 4* it is not, and boutique by no means.

I stayed there in January 2014. It is and old building that has been wonderfully refurbished.

Nevertheless, I was surprised to see the limited breakfast (omelete, cold bougatsa -cheese pie- bread and jams), I was utterly shocked when they asked us to drop coins in the nespresso machine so much advertized for capuccino - was I in a 4* or Thessaloniki Train station I wonder? The room we were given was on the 3rd floor facing the back. It was pretty basic- dirty curtains and signs of careless cleaning -hair balls in the corner of the bathroom floor.

On the other hand the matresses were amazing and the bed duvet was great. The staff was friendly.

If the hotel advertised itsself as a 3* I would give top marks but for a 4* and the corresponding prices charged it was a very very poor 4*

We stayed at this hotel on a recent trip to Greece and I thought it was a good value for the service and quality that it offered. It's on a small street that is very convenient to the main square of the city, and the rooms we had were reasonably large and very clean. The bathroom was well-lit and very clean (which was definitely not the case for all the hotels we stayed at in Greece). The staff was helpful and friendly, and brought breakfast up to our room at no extra charge. The only slightly negative part was that there was a bar down the street that one night was open fairly late and there was some noise coming from that direction (we had a room overlooking the street); however, it didn't really interfere with our sleep. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Thessaloniki for its value, central location, and great staff.

I stayed this hotel before but this time I stayed with my family room especially bed was uncomfortable and room small and very old face (5th floor ) . The last time Ieaved the Hotel very early so I didin't tasted the breakfast in the previous times , the breakfast was very insufficient.
LAstly staff is not friendly and helpful. For 4 stars hotel at least, it is expected to have slippers.
This was my last time to stay Zaliki Hotel. Every year I stay in Thessaloniki several time, ı guess I neeed to be find a better place for stay next time:-(
