ok lets start with the good. location is right in the heart of city the room was a good size. Now the bad. Beds not comfy you have to go to the sister hotel on the next street to check in the reception is barley open we had a problem that our key card would work we had to sit waiting after finally getting hold of the other hotel just to get in. breakfast is at the sister hotel. the hotel is a funny shaped building there is not a lift up the first flight of stairs which isnt great as they are very steep spiral staircase. All in all the hotel is in a right place room was clean but thats the best i can say.
I'm not sure what system is used in Greeks to rate hotels, but I've been at better two-star hotels in Madrid and Paris. The bed was comfortable, the staff at the Garden Bar where they serve breakfast was excellent, as well as the part-time receptionist, and the location was great, but those are the only positives. My Orbitz VIP status was not recognized; though there was a room one notch higher than what I was promised, I was denied an upgrade. I was also denied 20% off in the restaurant, which is something they could have easily given me. But aside from that, there was mold in the bathroom, the sink linked (room #3), and there wasn't even a chest of drawers or anything to put stuff, just 10 coat hangers. I have no other experience getting a room in Thessaloniki, but surely there are places to get more of a bang for your buck. Also, the check-in was a mess. They sent me an email at 9:30 that morning (when I was already en route, as most travelers would be) with instructions, but it didn't matter anyway because they were incorrect. I had to go to their other hotel to get my key, and the receptionist at that place gave me a bit of an attitude telling me that they had sent correct instructions. That was handled really poorly, and set the tone for a mediocre stay. They don't offer room clean up unless you ask for it; not sure if that is a COVID thing or not but nobody told me. I would not stay here again. Also, there is loud music ever night (even during the week) but it goes off at midnight.…
I just booked this hotel due to its location, although I have stayed there before and the overall standards didn't meet my expectations. Thankfully this time they called asking to cancel my booking.com reservation, offering me a me a 50 euros discount in return if I make a reservation directly with them. This was a very important reason for me to cancel my reservation
The hotel is conveniently located in the city center. The structure is quite new, the rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable, while the bathroom could be more cared for. The staff is very friendly even if the reception closes at night. The hotel does not offer breakfast, but you must go to the other hotel in the chain located about 500 meters. It can certainly be improved but is a good solution for staying in the center of Salonnico
After a long and busy day in Thessaloniki I couldn't wait go to Colors Central Hotel and rest. Staff was very helpful and the room was very nice as always. Good value of money and definatly I will come back.
