Orestias Kastorias is very well located, in between the old upper town and the modernist downtown, close to historical landmarks and museums, cafés and shops, easily accessible by most popular bus routes across the city It is clean, functionnal in a nice building. Rooms are big (bathrooms a little bit small though). Rooms overlooking the café may be a bit noisy, but most of the noise you'll have come from your fellow guests and not from the street. Staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel has fixed taxi rates from the hotel to the airport and the KTEL Makedonia bus station, Was there twice in 2013, and again twice in 2020: same quality, same low prices, same kindness.
I stayed four nights at this hotel. The first night I was in a room on the first floor and I found it a bit noisy, street noiseThe next morning I asked if I could move to a quieter room and was told they were full but they would see what they could do. They asked me to pack up my things but as I had a planned excursion to get to I had no time to do so and told the clerk that was the case. And l left it at that. When I got back, much to my surprise they had moved me to a room on the third, top floor. They had also packed up my belongings for me and had actually put my toiletries and other items away in the same order I had left them. WOW The rooms were small but clean and comfortable. The hotel was well maintained and the front desk staff was extremely friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. All their restaurant recommendations were bang on. They also researched and advised me what was the best way to get to where I wanted to go. The hotel itself was centrally located for me as I was wandering between the old town and the downtown, water front. If you want a good place to stay and be well taken care of you should stay here …
We stay one night in Thessaloniki in this hotel. We arrived late at night and the receptionist is very kind and gives us information abour the city. Beds are confortable and room is clean. Most importantly its warm inside. There is a bar downstairs but we didnt hear their noise at night, not disturbing. 5-10 minutes to the city center. There are a few nice bakery around for breakfast. I like this hotel, thank you.
Great place , very friendly and they let me stay and extra day for free . Clean place , feels like Home and good coffee 👌🏽. Near Aristotle square and cafes. If you are looking for a place near the center I recommend this one.
After booking a room for this hotel for a month in the future, I inadvertently booked a second reservation for that very night. I immediately tried to correct the mistake and wrote to both the hotel and Booking.com in addition to cancelling the reservation online. The hotel never responded to me directly. Rather, through the attentive representatives at Booking.com, they twice refused to refund the one night cancellation fee for the mistaken reservation and claimed that they were unable to fill the room (it was already 9 o'clock at night and the reservation was cancelled minutes after it was made).
