The Met Hotel boasts a selection of praised amenities, including a rooftop pool and a shuttle service, with guests also enjoying a varied breakfast selection despite some remarks about the indoor pool's size. The rooms are generally found to be clean and contemporary, although space and certain amenities could be improved. The atmosphere divides opinion, with the modern, artful design considered luxurious by many, even if some find it lacks warmth. Guests commend the staff's excellent service and cleanliness standards, and while the location receives mixed reviews, the hotel is often seen as offering good value.

We are a family of four (two adults and two kids 11 and 12 years old) who have just spent four nights at the Met Hotel in Thessaloniki. The hotel is convenient located just outside the city centre, in walking distance or a short hotel-shuttle-bus or taxi drive. The hotel facilities are very nice, clean, spacious and modern, both the inside and the outside eating/bar facilities. The rooms are not the biggest, but are well designed with a balcony. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, and we always felt welcome. The breakfast buffet is great. We also used the Long Bar several times, for great drinks and light meals. The best was the Chen Restaurant, where we enjoyed the Asian Fusion menu. We have been to several top Asian Fusion restaurants around the world, and the Chen is definitely up there amongst the very best.
In summary, a great stay at the Met Hotel, and we can highly recommend it to other holiday travellers. The business/conference facilities also look very good and spacious.

We know Thessaloniki well but have never spent more than one night in the city and we decided to do a bit of hotel-hopping. of the four we stayed in, the Met came out way above the rest, despite its very shabby surroundings. Once you get in, you are transported to a different world - clean lines and huge spaces, a courtyard that catches the sun and is relatively tranquil. The bedrooms are small but well designed and the beds are extremely comfortable - this was the only hotel where I was able to have a decent night's sleep. The breakfast is also excellent.

The best hotel in Thessaloniki!!!
We just came back from a vacation in Thessaloniki in the Met hotel. The hotel was great! Clean, very good breakfast, the staff is very friendly and informative. We will be back for sure to this hotel. The hotel is located 5 min from the city center and the hotel has free shuttle every hour to the city center and back.

A nice modern hotel (11 years old) with a cool vibe. Dark interior but good lighting - and plenty of plugs and hot water in the room
Great staff who went the extra mile. A lovely pool deck on the top floor with good views over the bay towards the city - although right next to the (working) docks
Spacious underground car park (€10 pd) with direct access to reception. You need a ticket to get in so best to go to reception first but if not they can buzz you in
About 2 km from the city centre but a courtesy bus runs on the hour throughout most of the day. Otherwise taxis were about €6-8
A good choice of breakfast and an interesting dinner menu too with good quality food and huge portions.
Overall we enjoyed a very happy few days’ stay here

Not sure where to begin. Here are a few reasons why you should avoid this hotel and go elsewhere:

1) I am convinced that the members of staff have woken up from the wrong side of the bed. They all come across moody draining your energy.
2) It’s a 30-40 min walk to the real gig, you want to stay closer to seafront otherwise you’ll stack up charges with Uber. They offer hourly shuttle services but not convenient if I am honest.
3) Last but not least, if they can charge you for breathing in the hotel they will. Insane right (?!) but trust me. To say the least, no complimentary water (even in the most prestigious hotels globally there is always complimentary water - it’s a basic win for a good customer service not to mention it’s also a basic human need) and you need to pay for parking despite being a hotel guest (yes you heard that right and it’s not cheap?!)

So if you have the option to to elsewhere consider it!

Dear guest, We would like to thank you for taking the time to post your review regarding your recent stay at The Met Hotel. We really appreciate every constructive feedback of our guests and we seriously take into consideration all mentioned points. In regards to your comments concerning our staff's behavior and manners, we would like to state that we receive daily praise from our guests regarding their attentiveness, positive attitude, politeness and all-around eagerness to satisfy with a smile. Therefore, it comes to a great surprise to learn that you had experienced the above stated. Rest assured that The Met Hotel's number one priority is for our guests to feel genuinely cared for by our attentive staff. According to the distance from the city center, please allow us to inform you that our hotel is 2klm far away from Aristotelous square (city center) and it is listed in all booking engines and of course the hotel's official website and social media. Therefore it is approximately a 20min walk and 5-10min ride by car. Also, as you mentioned, for our costumers' convenience, we do provide free transfer to/from Aristotelous square almost every hour during the day via our shuttle bus. Regarding the charges, please allow us also to inform you that our pricing policy is similar to the rest of the hotels of the city of Thessaloniki, on the same category as The Met Hotel. Thank you once again for choosing The Met Hotel for your stay and for taking the time to share your feedback so that we may get closer to exceeding our guest’s expectations. Kind Regards, Dimitris Kakaris General Manager

We thought this place was fantastic! Modern, quiet, comfortable and spotless rooms, bathroom with all the amenities. Really nice roof-top pool with restaurant, amazing views of Thessaloniki. We enjoyed the indoor pool and sauna also. The included breakfast was absolutely incredible. Tons of options for pastries, croissants, eggs, yogurt, cheese, fruit, cereal bar, etc. The hotel had a free van to the city center about 10-15 minutes away which left every hour which was a nice touch. We used taxis also to take us to various locations which was not expensive. We highly recommend this hotel and are looking forward to returning in the future.

amazing customer service- they sent to our room Anything that we asked for and all of the staff was friendly. The shuttle service is reliable and makes it easy to get to the city center within 10 minutes. They arranged a cab for us to the airport and even sent us with breakfast to go. The pool and steam room was also wonderful to use, though a bit small and hot tub like warm - and the outdoor pool was still closed in April. We were a little bit surprised that the standard room came without hot water and coffee the TV was outdated, and the towels scraggly, but at the end of the day it did not did affect our experience too poorly. The breakfast is really great with lots of variety.

The Met is worth a visit for their rooftop pool.It is in the old dock area just over a mile from the City Centre. You are best with a taxi but the 31 bus takes you to the Met Hotel opposite the Jumbo Centre .(not worth a visit apart from the sports store.)The cost of using the pool is €25 weekday €35 weekend. You get a towel and large water for the fee.

Despite an unfortunate issue of arrangement regarding our rooms, the always friendly and professional staff, was immediately award the eight of us with four-not just one-rooms which were at least 3-4 levels up, than the ones we booked.
Furthemore, we were never charged for our breakfasts during our stay there, and is sufficient to say that the amenities were top notched.
But the most rewarding experience of all is the people who run it.At every position.

Amazing rooms, especially those overlooking the harbor and the city! Excellent breakfast, (I met the chef personally), and amazing service. It is a hotel that is a destination in itself. In all the rooms there is a work of art, which makes it unique in Thessaloniki. In the common areas one can welcome associates and friends
Be sure to try Chan Restaurant.
It sounds like I'm advertising it but the simple truth is that I am a devoted fan of this space that I feel respects me! Panos Papadopoulos
