This small 25-room boutique hotel is located in a stunning location on Lefkada. The road to get in/out is challenging, however, well worth the trip. The staff was very nice and unobtrusive in their daily activities. The views are absolutely priceless! A couple of beautiful pools, lounge chairs, umbrellas and tiers leading to the beach and sea. Food was very good, including the delicious breakfast. Our room was spacious, comfortable, great A/C, a private patio with lounge chairs. You could walk down the hill to a few little tavernas for a change of menu, and scenery. We didn't take advantage of paddle boards, kayaks or other rentals.
We’re just back from a fantastic week at the San Nicolas. It’s a wonderful boutique hotel with only 25 rooms. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. You could easily spend the entire week without moving far from the hotel. Food at the restaurant was delicious, although more expensive than the tavernas 10 minutes’ walk away. There’s effectively a private beach on site, a superb pool, a huge number of sun beds and a lovely beach bar. (And Lefkada is incredibly beautiful!). We want to go back next year.
Just returned from 8 lovely days at san Nicholas. The area and views are stunning. We stayed in Room 303, which, in our opinion, was the best. Large room and absolutely massive balcony. In the corner and very high up. The ladies on reception were all very helpful. Food was really good, served by really friendly staff. A special mention to Dimitra & Kosmas, who worked so hard every day from breakfast through to dinner. Always with a smile and time for a chat. The only fault I can find with the hotel was the shower. The shower head seems to be positioned wrong, coming out of the side wall instead of the back and often the water was cold in the morning. A lovely relaxing holiday.
We had booked a stay at the San Nicolas Resort Hotel in May 2020, which we unfortunately had to cancel due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the time we booked a non-refundable rate, however due to the exceptional situation, many countries in Europe (Greece included) have provided measures to protect both customers and hotel operators, which are also applicable for non-refundable bookings. Unfortunately, the staff at the San Nicolas Resort Hotel have been extremely inflexible with our specific case and have refused to re-book or provide us with a refund of our booking past the validity of the 18-month voucher (worth over 400 euros). Instead, we were invited to pay again when we reached out to re-book our holiday this spring. Our experience dealing with this hotel has been very unpleasant, therefore we recommend booking with caution. The experience is particularly disappointing, as we had also booked many other non-refundable reservations with other reputable establishments in Greece, all of which have been absolutely lovely and have allowed us to re-book without any problems. It is truly a shame, as we were so excited to visit this hotel. Based on our experience, we will certainly not be making a visit during our future trip to Greece!…
Beautiful place, great hotel. Standard (it seems) the shower is less pleasant. Standing in the bathtub and the shower head flying in all directions. For the rest, you can enjoy a daily made bed and fresh towels. You can't serve breakfast yourself, but the friendly ladies are happy to help you. There are beds (nice and soft) by the pool and beds by the sea. What struck us is that the crowd that comes to this hotel is a bit posh. Great, but hadn't read/seen this before but it stands out. Although they still put beach towels just as hard (greatly fresh every day) on beach beds 'for reservation'. Booking a boat is easy and you can make a nice day trip to other islands. Please note: for the two restaurants from the hotel it is advisable to make a reservation a day in advance or even earlier! Restaurant at the hotel is also recommended (a bit more expensive than average on the island). And please be kind to the cats on the island.…
I have just returned from a 12 night stay at this beautiful hotel with incredible views of Mikros Gialos Bay. For the size of hotel there are many spacious areas to relax. The beach bar with sun loungers is a must. An area with plenty of loungers and right on the sea. A lovely area to enjoy a cocktail or a spot of lunch. You can hire a boat for the day from here too - very reasonable at €100 plus fuel, would highly recommend doing this as it’s a great way to see the other islands close by. I have to mention Chris (the barman) very friendly and engaging. Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice and lovely sweet pastries. Our waitress was the lovely Chrissy,, she greeted you each morning with a lovely smile and always took the time to make sure you were enjoying your stay. We always partook in pre dinner and post dinner drinks and were served by Eleni, again, another lovely member of staff, very polite and friendly. The restaurant has a great menu and the alfresco dining area is exceptional with beautiful views of the bay. The bay itself has some lovely tavernas to dine in only a short walk away. Spiros was the night manager and he had a great sense of humour. Finally I have to mention Lena - she is bubbly and a real asset to the hotel. This hotel is a true Ionian Jewel. …
Everything was just great! I liked everything. It was quiet, the beach was very good, the view was beautiful, the room was big and it was so clean! I don't have words to describe it! I really recommend you to visit it!
Went for a swim at the beach club which was so pleasant and relaxing. Got some zucchini chips and white wine and enjoyed laps in the gentle, clear and refreshing bay. Staff was friendly, attentive and responsive
We stayed in a Penelope Suite room that was spacious and well appointed with a generous well appointed shower room. Outside was a good sized covered verandah with built in seats that unfortunately gets the direct full afternoon sun. There is a further small 'lawn' with loungers and parasol. 2 swimming pools at the hotel and a hard surfaced lower area with loungers by the water together with a bar. Breakfast has a good selection but the hot food was only warm, apparently a common problem in Greece. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would recommend the hotel.
All were perfect!!!!!!!!!! We enjoyed staying there and especially the food, the view and the clear water of the sea. The pools were fantastic with great view of the sea from the high of the hotel. We had great times there.
