Recommended by the natives and have a meal on the rooftop and watch the sunset the food was very good and a beautiful view over the Old Harbour the rooms will have a good standard an overall we enjoyed our stay the location cannot be better and next to to all the places you want to visit
Perfectly sited with a view over the harbour, clean, comfortable beds, nice staff. The breakfasts would be even better on the magnificent rooftop terrace (open for drinks and supper). Parking for guests outside also helpful. Breakfasts should be better - no fresh orange /fruit juice, which on a place like Corfu is absurd. Coffee is instant, ditto. But delicious fresh fruit and Greek yoghurt, proper unsweetend muesli.
We spent 3 nights in this historic hotel last week. Location is fantastic, right beside Old Town. Very picturesque. Had dinner 2 nights on rooftop restaurant which was excellent. Staff were pleasant and helpful. There is also a lovely walk around the harbour beside hotel
Cavalieri is perfectly situated for exploring Corfu Town. We were only staying 1 day/night at the end of our holiday elsewhere as we had never been to Corfu Town and heard so much about it. Hotel is impressive from the outside but is (in my opinion) quite dated inside. We were on the 5th floor and the lift was reminiscent of yesteryear when the lift door slid open and we had to open a door to enter. Our room was spacious but again dated and in need of a bit of tlc, as was the bathroom but they both served a purpose and the beds were comfy. But ….. in all the hotels I have EVER stayed in I have never ever had the view we had from the double aspect windows. Get those shutters open and the view took my breath away overlooking the old fortress and the little harbour. Normally I have to pay extra for that. I don’t like being negative. This review is for others to make their minds up, but the breakfast was a big no from us I’m afraid. We didn’t stay, it wasn’t for us. Overall, for what we wanted it for, Cavalieri worked for us. Staff were friendly and very helpful. For just one night it was so perfectly situated and we enjoyed our stay.…
Great location stunning views but drinks and hospitality shocking. Staff unbelievably rude, arrogant and miserable never again. Such a shame it could be wonderful. What a place to eat and drink, it should be Michelin star venue but is not.
We only stayed for one night in Corfu Town and stayed here. I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews about this place. It is a beautiful old building in a great position looking over the sea and the harbour. The views across to Albania and Greece are superb. Our room and all the communal areas were very clean and lots of hand gel for customers to use. The bathroom has admittedly seen better days but it was clean and functional. We chose to have dinner on the roof terrace for the view, which again is spectacular. We found our waiter, Nikos, to be charming and attentive and the food to be good and certainly value for money. The service was relaxed, judging by other reviews if you want a quick bite to eat this is probably not the place, but, if you want to spend a couple of hours enjoying good food and drink in a great location then do visit. Again struggling to understand some of the other reviews of the breakfast. We found it to be of a very good standard with lots of choice.…
Went to the rooftop restaurant in May, was OK but not great. Nice view. Went in August and they either need to get more staff or close. Awful slow service. You have to keep asking one of the two waiters for anything, drinks, menu, etc. Quite frankly if I had been in the UK I would have walked out. They cannot charge mid range prices purely on the views from the rooftop. It has to be based on service which in this case was abysmal. Despite bad reviews they keep operating with this second rate service. The owner should take more staff on instead of providing this awful service. Either that or let someone else run the restaurant because I'm sure they would do a better job at it!
This is a solid and pleasant old-style hotel in a great location in Corfu Town. Highlights: 1. rooftop bar and restaurant with views across the old town, old fort and the sea. (We had a small balcony with the same view from our ‘70’s style room. ) 2. Location, location, location. Across from the Maitland monument, park and a stones throw from the Liston arcade, the location is perfect for the short stay in town on the way to the beach resorts.
I wish I had read the reviews before the travel company booked three nights here for us on our return from Paxos. As others have mentioned, a lovely old building in a great location and we had a stunning view of the sea and old fortress. Very dated and no real communal areas on the ground floor, and no bar. The dining room for breakfast is small and nothing special. Breakfast a huge disappointment, cooked breakfast looked like it had been sat for hours, no fresh fruits to have with yoghurts. Only tinned peaches or tinned fruit salad, so disappointing. Hot drinks also not freshly made, had to press a button on a machine. As for the rooms, if we hadn’t had the lovely view I would have asked the travel company to move us. Very dated decor, awful carpet and the bathrooms very shabby with badly repaired grouting and chipped fittings. I had expected proper air conditioning in a 4 star hotel but there was just a unit by the bedroom door that didn’t seem to work and it was hard to sleep. Such a shame, whoever owns the hotel needs to invest in a major refurbishment as it should be a stunning, popular hotel in that location. They should also look at the staffing as they were not warm or welcoming.…
The hotel is dated. I can live with that completely. BUT, the day staff is rude...and the hotel staff is worse. The a/c is bad. The internet "high speed" is slower than the old dial up modem from years ago. I will never come back to this hotel.
