We stayed at Barefoot Contessa in August 2021, after having stayed at 2 other accommodations in Kefalonia (we were travelling around the island) and the moment we saw our apartment we both said we are sad for not having stayed here our entire time on the island. We had the panoramic view apartment. The apartment was beautifully furnished, big, full of light, with an amazing view of the mountains and the sea. Everything was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was big and renovated. We loved the little beach bar adjacent to the apartments. The owner of the bar and the apartments is a lovely Greek lady who grew up in New York and can make you any cocktail you ask for. Seriously, what are the odds of being able to enjoy NYC bartender quality cocktails for 5 EUR on a Greek beach? :) The Lourdas beach is amazing, mostly sandy and very big, with super clean water. We were a bit unlucky with the weather, as most days it was very windy with rather big waves but on our first day, the water was calm as a lake and so clean. The area is not too busy with plenty of space for everyone, mostly local and Italian tourists. The view from the water of the mountains on one side and of Zakynthos in distance on the other side is stunning. And there are some amazing restaurants within walking distance (Lorraine's put us into a food coma, it is a must in the area but it's better to book in advance).

We booked Barefoot Contessa at relatively short notice having found some relatively cheap flights (for the peak season!) We paid a premium price but loved our weeks holiday. The apartment was lovely. There are 10 apartments in total, all very well appointed, spotlessly clean, Air Con and everything we needed. The location is fantastic, there is a lovely little bar (Hemingways) and a few metres further on is the sand and pebble beach with lovely sunbeds (extra charge but a good opportunity to book the ones of your choice with George!) The highlight is also the owners, who are such really nice, genuine and helpful people. Criti and Spiros are there (almost!) 24/7 and a pleasure to spend some time with. There was a daily change of towels etc. by Dina who worked tirelessly to a very high standard and was also really helpful. There are several restaurants nearby (on a level walk!) and also higher up. Of particular note was Andromeda (a long uphill walk!) and Lorraine’s. The pictures on their website are exactly the same as the reality (in a very positive way!) The room we wanted was unavailable for the first couple of nights, so we stayed 2 nights in 101 (apartment) and 2 nights in room 206 (superior apartment). 101 was a bit dark as no double doors and pretty much windowless, 206 was much brighter and had fantastic sunset views.
Both apartments were very well maintained, quiet at night, well equipped kitchenette. There is a private shaded parking lot out front, and as an added bonus the second room had an umbrella and chairs for use on the beach. Location - there were easily 6 restaurants within 5 minutes walk, all great food. We initially didn't hire a car, but its essential if you want to see anything beyond Lourdas beach so we ended up doing that. Lourdas itself is nothing special compared to some of the other on the island, but still beautiful and a great place to relax for a few days.
There is no reception and the premises typically staffed during 9-4ish so you want to be very clear about when you're arriving. For some reason they did not receive/check the online check in form, so we ended up waiting ~45 mins when we arrived in the evening.
I would have given it 4 stars after the stay because of the hassle with check in... BUT my boyfriend left his passport in the safety box and we only realised a few days later. We managed to get in touch with the host - it was still where we'd left it and they very kindly held on to it, then met us later in the week in Argostoli to hand it back. I cannot thank Dina enough for this!

We stayed for 6 nights in this lovely apartment located virtually on the beach. We had a fantastic view over the bay and it was great just listening to the sea. The apartment was spotlessly clean and was well equipped with basic cooking facilities. The bed was super comfy and the shower was really good. I can’t fault Barefoot Contessa in any way and it was my favourite place that we stayed in during our visit to Kefalonia. The apartments were cleaned thoroughly and towels & linen regularly changed. The location was perfect; just a few steps away from a choice of bars and restaurants, but still quiet and peaceful. Parking on site and Lourdas itself was a lovely, pretty place. Unfortunately, as we stayed late in the season and not long after the storm, the apartment’s bar was closed and also some of the other places. However, there was still a reasonable choice of places to enjoy wonderful food and drink by the sea. I would highly recommend Barefoot Contessa for the quality and cleanliness of the accommodation, value and location.

We have stayed for 10 days in August 2020. It was easy to book and find. The location directly at the beach is great. The entrance area is quite large so every inhabitant got his own parking space, which makes it comfortable for everyone. Our house service, her name was Dina, was very friendly and did a great job, had some nice conversations. The rooms where properly cleaned. Price-performance ratio fully satisfying. We gladly come back.

We stayed 11 nights at this hotel during September. These are probably the nicest rooms, and facilities we have experienced while travelling in Greece. The location was superb, being right on the beach. During our stay we experienced the "Medicane" (and were confined to the room for 36 hours) and the fact that the room was so spacious saved us from going crazy!!

Absolutely love these apartments. Amazing views from all rooms, fantastic location with lots of tavernas nearby but always stop at the on-site bar for a cuppa or a glass of something cold. Great hosts who can’t do enough for you. Dina and the team are second to none and that’s why we keep returning.

Really nice accommodation, in a perfect location. A few yards from the beach. Rooms were well equipped with everything you need. Kitchen was large and spacious with large fridge freezer. All windows and doors had shutters and fly screens and air conditioning. Bathroom was modern with a good shower and plenty of hot water. Staff were friendly and helpful, we ate a few times in the Hemingway and the food and service was good. Views from the apartment were amazing each morning. Sunbeds were great and really comfortable and around the same price as others on the beach. Service on the beach was great. Would definitely recommend you stay here if visiting Lourdas.

We joined our Daughter and Husband at these perfect apartments for a fly and flop. (it was their 2nd visit). Just as she'd reported, they are spotlessly clean and well appointed. Great shower. Apart from Breakfast we tended to eat out, so can't comment on the cooking facilities, but don't think I'd have had much problem making a simple meal. As it was late in the season and due to a not too brilliant run of weather, a few of the restaurants and the bar at the entrance to the complex had closed, but a few were still open and their great food, hospitality and welcome made up for that. The only thing I'd add would be a full length mirror somewhere in the apartment, The Williams & Wilsons are already planning our return trip!

Barefoot contessa was a perfect place to stay. Location was opposite the beach and behind Hemingway Rooms were spacious with kitchen area and bathrooms were reasonable. Shower at times felt claustrophobic with limited movement Bedroom had space to move. Housekeeping ladies were fantastic and did a great job, flexible and approachable, would help at a drop of a hat! This is not a 5 star hotel so do not expect linen to be changed daily which didn’t bother me at all, however would have liked the floors to be swept and bed just made for the day.
Apart from that, totally recommend staying here! Even had a very cute little sitting area outside of each apartment..
I loved it here!
Would suggest residents be offered free sun lounge and umbrellas out the front..
