It's located at Fiscardo and has the best traditional Greek food in Kefalonia (especially katsikaki & kolokythokeftedes). It has a great view especially if you go around 19:30 in the afternoon to enjoy the sunset. Great food, very polite and friendly staff
Wie dined here on 2 occasions during our holiday in Fiskardo It is family run and the food is high quality authentic Greek food at reasonable prices with friendly service Dishes of the day are slow cooked by Jiannis in traditional Greek outside ovens The sunsets are wonderful Booking is advisable
We staying the blue horizon cottage with private plunge pool. It had amazing views from the terrace and pool, and it was the perfect place to relax in peace. The cottage was spacious, clean, and nicely designed. The staff are very friendly, and the restaurant offered a range of local food at good prices, and a much higher quality than many of the other restaurants in the area. Our only criticism is that it would have been nice to have been given a welcome pack/basics to use in the kitchen (salt, tea etc), as you have to provide everything yourself. Overall a fantastic 4 nights, and good value for a cottage with private terrace/pool.
Simply the best restaurant in this area. Hang a steep right turn in Manganos when the mini-market is on your left and follow the narrow road for a mile before turning right in to the car parking area. There is no menu! You are told what they have by way of starters and mains they have on that particular day, and how many portions too if it is running out! The food is delicious ... we went there twice four years ago and then went twice again this year. It is much more authentic and tasty (and better priced) that the restaurants in Fiscardo. 2 x starters, 2 x mains, wine and water = €50. This is worth travelling to. Make sure you book though as it only serves food between 7pm and 10pm in the evenings, and is usually full.
I'm the restless type, and so after ruining everybody's chill time by the pool, was sent to look at Ranzo Ionia by my wife. Came back an hour or so later having met the enthusiastic father/mother/son team, had a drink and swam in the beautiful pool. I had arranged to eat there the following night. We arrived to meet the father who showed us the food for tonight...all organic and cooked in a wood fire oven. After pre dinner drinks on the terrace (amazing views over the Ionian see), we ordered starters of mixed vegetables, vine leaves stuffed with pork , Tsasiki, and aubergine topped with feta to die for. I had slow cooked lamb with potatoes (beautifully cooked), 2 had the sea bream, and my younger daughter had famous Cephalonia pie which she grudgingly shared, declaring it as the best food she had ever tasted! Rounded off with pudding and coffees, just a joy. Really wonderful setting with really welcoming people with food they obviously care for from their own land...we have put it down as a must for the island. I rarely review, but felt compelled to share.…
