It is far enough away that there is peace and quiet, but close enough that you can easily go for a night walk around the lively village, or take a ride to the capital, where there are even more attractions and shops (the last bus returns at 11 p.m.). The area is therefore quiet and clean. The hotel is separated from the beach by a street that is not crowded, but children must be supervised there. The beach next to the hotel is clean, quite narrow, with one line of sun loungers (paid 3 euros) and a few trees providing some shade. There is often quite a strong wind blowing here, which helps to endure the high temperatures. The hotel itself is well-kept and clean, there is no pomp and gold door handles. The rooms are clean and cleaned every day, although some elements (panels on the ceiling in the bathroom) could be renovated, I wouldn't mind if it bothered us. The pool was clean and tidy. On some days we had to make an effort to get them, because there were more people willing to go to the swimming pool and we didn't bother with early morning reservations. The service was very good, nice, helpful and efficient, which is not common in Greece;) Dymitri was very nice and took care of us so much that it was a pleasure to go out for meals, and the Manager made sure that the guests were satisfied every day. The food was delicious. Also without the pomp and pyramids of shrimps, but always fresh, tasty, authentic, local and varied enough so that we won't get bored during our two-week stay. Dinners
more varied than breakfast, breakfast rooms had more 'elements' in general + pancakes made by the cook on request. The dinner set had several standards, pasta + Bolognese and Neopolitan sauce, soup, cold plate, salads, 3-4 meat dishes, 3-4 vegetarian dishes, including daily fish or seafood. Every evening there was one great dish, served by the cook. personally, including real pita gyros, baked salmon, sheep, Thai duck, pizza, etc. Plus a table of sweets (delicious) and fruit, ice cream, etc. Well, the cuisine exceeded our expectations and, as usual, we only book half-board to eat dinner out. , we ate snacks in the city because we didn't want to fill ourselves with other cuisines;) Both we and our 5-year-old were happy. For us, the hotel was a hit and is probably responsible for 50% of our best vacation with a child so far. Although there is no animation or children's club here (I took 1 dot for that). We rarely go back to the same places, but here I would consider it - at least for a week, lie on the beach, watch great sunsets and taste delicious food among people who try to make it the best time for you!

We arrived in the early hours and the hotel had food and water waiting for us which was a very nice touch; the service from all areas of the hotel was excellent throughout the stay.
We stayed half board but only ate at the hotel three times (price wasn’t much more for HB). I’d describe the food as ‘ok’. The kids loved it as they could have as much as they wanted but depended on which night you were in there as to the theme. Instead we ate in Tigaki and Kos Town. It is 25 minutes walk into the centre, on an evening as the sun sets it’s a pleasant walk alongside the sea and white sands but during the day and the heat it’s a tough one! So we figured out the bus (the bus stop is right outside the hotel) came at 20 past and got that into town or back - definitely worth the €1.80 fare. It’s even more worth the €2.10 fare to Kos Town - best town I’ve been to on a Greek Island. Loved it there and some outstanding restaurants and bars. Last bus comes back at 11pm. We really liked Tigaki itself too, some fantastic bars and restaurants. A mixture of modern and traditional. Especially recommend Vasilis Restaurant and Roosters Bar.
The pool area was great, sun beds were extremely comfortable and the snack bar was good. Although it shut at 4.30 which was a bit frustrating as the seated area is overlooking the beach so if you wanted an early evening drink it’s best to go just down the road to George’s bar and have a drink by the sea.
Within the snack bar area is also a mini market that sells basic provisions like water, snacks and drinks which is useful and there is a supermarket about 5 minutes down the road as well.
The rooms are a bit dated decor wise but are spotless and cleaned every day with fresh towels also and as previously mentioned, have amazing views. The air con wasn’t working properly and was fixed immediately.
I miss the sound of the sea already! Would definitely stay here again.

Firstly, I must mention that the rooms in the hotel are a little dated. The shower still had shower curtains from the 2000s, which gave it a slightly old-fashioned feel. Additionally, the bed was quite hard, resulting in a less comfortable sleep and waking up with a stiff neck and back.
Furthermore, I would not recommend this hotel for families with children. During our stay, we were the only family in our thirties with a child, and there were no other kids around. It seemed that the hotel primarily attracts an older crowd, with most guests being over 50 years old.
One of the biggest disappointments was the lack of entertainment. There was no music or any form of organized entertainment around the pool area, which created a rather dull and silent atmosphere. Guests were left to sunbathe in silence, which was not very enjoyable.
On the positive side, the food at the hotel was satisfactory. I would rate it as okay, meeting basic expectations. However, overall, I believe the hotel falls more into the 3-star category in terms of quality.
In terms of location, the Kos Palace Hotel has a convenient position, being a mere 20 meters from the beachfront. Additionally, it is just a 5-minute walk to the nearest supermarket and car rental services. However, it is important to note that the walk to the local town takes approximately 20 minutes and can be challenging. The lack of footpaths forces guests to walk on the road, which can be unsafe, especially for families with children.
The local town itself offers a variety of restaurants, dessert shops, and bars, providing plenty of options for dining and entertainment.
One inconsistency I noticed was regarding the drinks. At breakfast, the drinks were unlimited, but during dinner, guests had to pay €4.50 for a bottle of water. This seemed a bit unusual and inconvenient.
Additionally, I would like to mention during my stay, I noticed numerous nests scattered throughout the premises.
Finally, I must commend the hotel staff for their friendly and helpful demeanor. They were always attentive and willing to assist with any queries or concerns.
I hope this review provides valuable insight for prospective guests considering a stay at the Kos Palace Hotel.
No WiFi in our room, despite us being around 60m from reception. Towels provided are old and fraid. The furniture in the rooms is old and worn.
They charge 22 euro to hire a safe deposit box. I've never had to pay for that before in a 4 star!
The location is very poor. It's a good 20.minute walk to Tigaki where there is a better beach but it was too hot abd dangerous, due to traffic so we took the bus. That was €2 each way. Then you had €12 a day sunbed hire. The hotel.boasts sunbeds on the beach opposite the hotel but you pay €3 per bed and the beach is across the very busy road and it's no word than 30 ft wide! The sea is rough on the North Coast, too.
We hired a car and went yo beaches on the South West.
Food was pretty basic. Tepid. Much the same every day. As others have mentioned, no drink is provided with dinner and drinks are expensive.
Staff were friendly and helpful, which is a redeeming factor. 90% of guests were German, who seemed to believe they own the place. Jet2 rep was non existent and provided no help.
Kos wasn't one of our favourite Islands and the position of this hotel was poor. We certainly would not return.

Breakfast and dinner were both buffet style and with a reasonable choice.
Although a nice hotel, we wouldn't stay here again as there was absolutely no entertainment at the hotel or in the whole of Tigaki. No live music, no Greek nights. Absolutely dead. Also, it was a very long walk into town. It was at least 1.8 km to the centre which is a good 30 minutes at a reasonable pace. Not many footpaths either so quite dangerous.
Tigaki isn't a great resort, not much there to be honest. Kardemena is more lively and probably a better choice if you want some entertainment. Zia was very nice to visit.
Overall a relaxing break but having little to do in the evenings let the holiday down a bit.

The swimming pool was bigger than we thought so that was a pleasant surprise, I did worry about the cleanliness as litter by the side of the pool was still there until residents moved it 3 or 4 days later. Sun beds are hard to get after 9am so get down there early. Beach is lovely, sea was really crazy when we were there - shame you had to pay for sun beds on the beach, not very fair on residents.
Snack bar was good, 4 euros for Gyros and 3.50 for a cold beer. Staff were friendly but one day I got told off for taking away food to the room for my son who wasn’t feeling great.
The hotel is set around 20/25 minutes away from Tigaki, sadly too much for my son to walk in the heat so we had to rely on very buses which operate on Greek time and took some planning to get the bus at the right time. Taxis are like gold dust.
We found Tigaki expensive and very busy compared to a previous trip, but loved trips to Rooster, Memories and Home Burger - definitely worthy of visiting.
There is bar next door, George is very friendly and it’s ideal to watch the sunset. Also a supermarket 5 minutes away, having a fridge in the room meant to could buy a few essentials and keep them cool.
Pack mosquito sprays/plugs…I am covered in bites. There is zero entertainment for the evening, nothing for children. A quiz or bingo would have been welcome or Greek dancing one night, The hotel next door was the total opposite live shows and music but we did want a quiet holiday so can’t complain.
We did ask for a late check out and was told to ask on the last day we did this and was refused which resulted in a very long day for us.
I would book the hotel again and definitely recommend it for a relaxing, quiet holiday.

We had read the reviews so we knew about the walk to Tigaki and 25 minutes is fair at a good pace. We hired a moped to help with the journey for a few nights. The strip is lovely with plenty of bars and restaurants. We did visit the beach down there but preferred our own quiet spot near the hotel.
The only thing lacking was a bit of entertainment at night at the hotel. Perhaps a singer or guitarist for a couple of nights, although music was played at the bar but drinks were hotel prices so it was much cheaper to walk to Tigaki.
We slept well and there was never any noise. The air conditioning worked, thank goodness as this was needed with the heat of the day.
We would definitely return to Kos Palace and had a wonderful holiday.
