This is a very nice hotel, clean and quiet. It has a fantastic sea view, and the port and many restaurants are only minutes away. Right around the corner is a excellent restaurant. And within 100 meters is a mini-market, and a cafe. Parking is limited, but I never had any trouble finding a spot. It is family run, and John and George are very friendly hosts. The breakfast is minimal, but good.

I could not have made a better choice. This is a great hotel, not sure why it is only a 2*, as it is better than many 3* hotels I have stayed at. The room was spacious and spotless, the mattresses were very comfortable. The buffet breakfast offers a great selection of warm and cold options that will satisfy any reasonable request; there is even vegan cheese available. The friendliness and politeness of the staff and the owner are beyond words. I cannot wait to go back!

Two weeks with a family of three. Positive: Location is superb, just a block away from everything. Guys at the reception are friendly and they speak good English. Negative: It is normal that Greek breakfast is quite brief compared to nordic standards. This place makes no exception. That is acceptable, but the plates at the buffet table were constantly empty. That is not acceptable. One of the staff members is serving the coffee to the tables which is a waste of time. People could go get their own from the table and he could concentrate on replenishing the tomatoes and cucumbers at the buffet. I wonder why aren't there shelves in the clothes cabinets!

To start with the advantage this hotel has over many others: Location. It is situated right at the edge of the town centre so just a minute walk away from all the shops and restaurants, not to mention the small harbour. The owner has a welcoming way of greeting you upon arrival. You get to choose if you are willing to pay extra for a safe box and/or climate control. The elevator is nothing more than a cramped box with out of date inner doors. Wouldn't want to get stuck in there in case of a power outtage. This does happen in this hotel, so be warned. Your room is not too spacious but enough for a week. You'll mostly just sleep here as all the fun is outside. The balcony of the corner rooms is smaller. Two separate beds which were remarkably comfortable boxsprings. There's a telephone (you know those from the old days, right?) and a flatscreen tv that actually has a good picture instead of the usual snowy distorted view. Did not use it though. The bathroom is standard, small, but also large enough for it's purpose. Actually good is the shower, although there's no hook for the showerhead. I guess this will keep people from using up too much water as no one wants to hold the thing forever. You also get a small kettle with which you can make hot water. No amenities. Just 2 glasses and coffeecups. that's it. Of course you have to put a plastic card in a slot in the wall for the electricity to come on. But any bankcard size card will do so you can keep the airconditioning switched on. And it'll get cold enough after a few hours. Breakfast? Well, there's absolutely no need to get out of bed for it. Besides, it finishes at 0930 am allready anyway. It is nothing more than some watery coffee, 2 kinds of brown bread and 2 kinds of cookies. Plain yoghurt that you can put some jelly in, a sausage and an egg. That was basically it. The pool was not too warm. in fact, the sea outside is warmer. But you can grab a sunbed and an umbrella. The pool area is not crowded, just a few people now and then. There's no lifeguard and the view is walls all around. Wifi will set you back 20 euro's per week and that price is for one device only. Kind of a ripoff as all the restaurants offer it for free. All the roomkeys of guests who left their room were put on the receptiondesk. Needless to say that anyone could just walk in, grab a key or two and break into your room. Even more so because a lot of times there's no staff in sight or the receptionist is smoking outside. Staff is overall not really engaged. So, my opinion? This hotel is perfect for a stay in Pigadia and to visit Karpathos. Just don't expect any luxory or an atmospere of any kind. You can find better hotels but then, you'd also have to walk half an hour to reach town. So this suited our needs perfectly.
