This was our second time visiting Provalma and it did not disappoint! We are fortunate to travel extensively and this tiny hotel ranks as one of our most favourite in the world. The super-clean, modern, spacious suites provide the perfect home base for your time in Folegandros - one of the most incredible islands. The views from the hotel are simply incredible and worth the stay alone. Waking up to the fresh breakfast basket is one of the highlights here. There's no better way to start the day. I can't say enough good things about this hotel and look forward to our return. TIPS: - book a car. It's the best way to explore the island and it's many remote beaches - the food on the island is remarkable. So many restaurants to choose from, we never had a disappointing meal. A favourite near Provalma is O Psaromiligkas for traditional greek cuisine.

We visited Provalma for 8 days in September as the final leg of our honeymoon and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Yiannis greeted us from the ferry and took us to the property, which is situated in the peaceful and traditional village of Ano Meria. Yiannis is a great host - welcoming, friendly, informative and accommodating. He brought a breakfast basket to our room each morning, at a time of our choosing, including fantastic home made cakes and cheese pies and a host of other goodies to enjoy on the terrace. The rooms are luxurious; very generous in size, comfortable, clean and stylish, (and with bathrobe and slippers) provided. Provalma enjoys amazing views over the island and beyond and sunrise is simply stunning. There is an amazing infinity pool! And the bird life is fantastic as well. We enjoyed watching little flocks of linnets as well as the odd black cap and swooping swifts and swallows often drinking from the pool on the wing. There are fantastic authentic tavernas a short walk away including the legendary Irene’s and regular bus services to take you to the Chora and beach. Failing that, Yiannis gave us the number for the Island’s solitary taxi driver and he was always available when needed. Donkey bridleways criss cross the Island and there are many beautiful walks to be had a short shot from the property. With a whole world to explore, we don’t tend to return to previous destinations but I think we’ll make an exception for Provalma.
