Our family is going back to Amorgos this summer, and we just read the review of the French family "Chrisilha". We are very surprised that they wrote this negative story since we stayed there at the same time.
It is very unfair and impolite to the owner Mihailis and the stuff to characterize them in this manner. Our family was not the only residents in Agios Pavlos Studios in July that found this criticizing couple very disturbing and noisy. Shouting, slamming doors and talking negative about almost everything.
We other residents found the place very nice and quite, and with good service provided by smiling and polite staff. The disturbing element the five days we stayed there was this family.
I am sorry to hear that they are very disappointed, but I (and other residents) are sure that they, with their attitude, would feel the same all over Greece.

We stayed in chalet Artemis end of June the whole family. Being aware of any element of exaggeration as having passed the most wonderful family holidays, I cannot but share my personal experience that the accommodation was the perfect equivalent of the amazing beauty of the island of Amorgos. Beautifully renovated, amazing location, great hospitality from Mihalis. Having a glass of ouzo from the magical veranda of Artemis may give all the strength and hope someone would need to go on.

I cannot imagine a better place to spend our honeymoon...

The Almyra Beach House (part of Agios Pavlos Studios - but located in Aegialia) must surely be the holy grail for any discerning visitor looking for a rustic mediterranean getaway.

A comfortable stone cottage metres from the clear water of the beach. The sunset casting its rays over the terrace. A garden of grapevines, with fruits and vegetables waiting to be cooked on the barbecue. And barely another tourist in sight.

The cottage is located a short walk down the beach in Aegiali, which is a small port and fishing village that exudes both peace and charm. At the end of the garden is the beach, so you can stagger out of bed and fall into the sea (it almost feels like a private beach). The cottage is simple - bedroom, bathroom and a good sized living room; with a terrace looking out across the garden towards the water. And the owner, Mihalis, was both friendly and hospitable.

Near to Aegiali are two charming hilltop villages - Thoralia and Lagada - which are a short ride on a scooter. Perfect for breakfast or lunch at a vine covered taverna. From Aegiali you can easily explore the classic whitewash streets of the island's main town, and other villages. Not to mention dozens of beaches.

But the true essence of our stay was the beach house itself. After two days exploring the island's many gifts, we felt drawn to spend more time there. We picked tomatoes, peppers and aubergines from the garden, made salads and barbequed local fish. Perhaps because it's so in keeping with the surroundings, it's easy to while away the hours here in absolute tranquility, with a bottle of wine and a good book.

We're a young, well-travelled couple from Brooklyn, New York, with English and French blood. And we couldn't have been happier here. If you want packaged luxury, other islands might suit you better. But if you want to fall asleep to the sound of waves, wake up to a morning swim and coffee in a hammock, with an island to explore, and a garden to enjoy...then you've found your happy place!

We have had the time of our lives in Amorgos! This place and its view is absolutely splendid. Breakfasts on the terrace were just perfect and one of the best part of the days. Highly recommended to anyone who searches for peace and privacy.

We spent a most wonderful week in a studio apartment with a big terrace overlooking the sea. The room is spacious, equipted with a small kitchen and basic utensils. (very helpful as vegans). The studio was clean and sheets and towels were replaced daily. Michalis, the owner, was very warm and helpful. he gave us tips where to go, maps and was there for any questions. The hotel is quite and peaceful, a few minutes from the
beautiful Agios Pavlos beach and only 5 -7 minutes from Agielli. by car. We highly recomend this hotel and will surely return.

Highlights of our stay the amazing view of ag. Pavlos bay and island across! The rooms are nice, clean and quite! Biggest drawback the lack of internet and the distance from a 'shopping area'- you need 25 min by car for the Chora and 8-10 min from Aigiali

We came back after two years of absence, and regret on that - the absence...:-). It felt just like coming home again, meeting Mihalis smiling at the port with a huge hug and the car keys in his hand. A perfect start for a nice two weeks holiday in September. We have been here in the tourist season July & august, but we do now know that we have to come "off season" to get the best experience. My daughters (14 & 19) thought it would be a little boring at Agios Pavlos compared with nearby port Aigiali, but that luckily remained as just a thought. They lifted with Mihalis who drove to and from "the town" a couple of times a day, and the bus goes regulary (only 10 minutes). The car rental company in Aigiali had very good prices in May/June & September, so that was also no problem. We could pick them up those two nights they decided to come over later.
We also noticed that in September the people working in restaurants, cafés and the few shops had much more time for us tourists, and that was a nice feeling too. From now on we will go only May/June & September/October. Thank you once more for a very pleasant stay, dear Mihalis :-)!

I stayed in one of the apartments in June. I have originally booked for a small studio but we were upgraded to a bigger one as it was available (same price) .

The owner, Mihalis is very helpful , ask him for recommendations.

This place is quiet and away from the 2 big cities of amorgos , be warned that you will need a car to be independent. For us this was not a problem as this is exactly what we were looking for.

Agios Pavlos has been our lovely base for 10 days in september - and it made our stay in the Aegean definitely special. Mihalis has been perfect in taking care of any detail, with his discrete but helpful anf friendly presence, giving hints on how to explore the island and understand it.
The studios are elegantly decorated and beautifully placed with a panorama on Nikouria island.
The position is calm enough to dine outside hearing just the sound of the wind and seeing incredible stars, but close enough to lively and pretty aeghiali, for any need (10 mins by road).
If you don't feel like cooking and want just to walk, there is even a nice 'Taverna' in the house beside.
We rode the island around, but we think the prettiest beach we found is the one right below the studios, letting you reach the white pebbles and the turquoise water in 2 minutes by foot.

The view from the studios is really amazing, I could sit there and stare at the sea and Nikouria Island for hours... :) The studios itself are nice, but very simple... they might need some renovation in the next years, but they are still very nice and perfectly ok. The owner Mihalis is such a nice guy, really a pleasure to chat with him about everything. The positive note is that the island finally fixed the phone line to the studios so there is internet inside the rooms!!! And it is super fast and reliable, which is great! And just a couple of downsides, but not really necessities... one is that there was no TV in our room which usually would not be an issue, but it was world cup when we were there :). And second is that during our 8 nts stay the room was cleaned and the towels and sheets were changed only once, which it is mentioned on their website so we can't complain, but still, it would be nice to have it changed at least twice and have somebody to sweep the floors and take out garbage every day. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Agios Pavlos Studios and would still recommend it to all our friends.
