Small and cosy hotel across the street from the sea, what can be more beautifull? People who work at a hotel make you feel like you came home. Everything you need is not far from a hotel and the best thing about this location is that is away from the loud restaurants and big hotels and traffic. Breakfast is very simple but it doesn't matter because everything else is so nice.

Good, cheap hotel! Just across the beach! Kostas, the manager of the hotel is very correct as the Orania, the hostess and the old lady.. the owner. You ask, you get it :-) Itş clean! Breakfast is usual ... jam, honey, salami and some cheese

The small hotel is right across the street of the beach which is it's main advantage. Rooms are spacious, but nothing special. Furniture is old and rustic but clean. Sheets, towels and bathroom were very clean. However, they only changed them and cleaned the bathroom once during our 11 night stay.
We had a room with a sea view which I highly recommend. The balcony is medium-sized with two chairs and a table and has a very nice view. I can only complain on the fact that we did not have any kind of string for drying our clothes and towels, so we let them dry on the chairs.
Breakfast is very basic and the same every day: only bread, ham, cheese, jam and butter. Also some kind of Greek yogurt is also served every day. The staff is very nice and polite and the breakfast is served in a pleasant little dining area.
The employees were very polite. Since we had an early flight on our last day, we had to leave before the breakfast, but they made us lunch packets with sandwiches and juices which was a very nice gesture.
Free wi-fi is only available at the reception.
For the price we paid, this is a very satisfying hotel. Location is also very good, since you can walk (about 20 mins) to Rethymno city center and park anywhere around for free. The beach across the hotel is nice (nothing too special but a nice long sandy beach). Also, generally, Rethymno is a beautiful old town with a good location for travelling around the island!

The hotel is run by a family, it is truly a 2*, but ideal for a vacation where you spend only the night. very cheap and has all necessary things- shower, bed, balcony, a/c. For those who prefer renting a car and exploring the island the choice of city is perfect, the hotel is about 1,5 km away from the city center and it was a bit challenging to walk for dinner to the center. the hotel is situated on the beach promenade and there are little restaurants nearby where we ate when were lazy to walk to the center. The furniture is not new, sqeekie , but it is comfortable enough to sleep and wake up early and drive off. The breakfasts are not good( tea/coffe, a few biscuits) so we had breakfast in near by restaurants( 7-10€ for continential breakfast). No soundproof. My rating is 4/5 because for what we paid- and it was really cheap- we got according accomodations . Dont expect much for cheap.

Small family hotel situated right accros the beach. It is not a 5 star hotel but it has everything you need, if you're not used to some kind if luxury, off course. There is a bath with curtain and even soap in the bathroom. Rooms are medium size and clean. Owners were nice. Towels and bed sheets were changed every third day. We had room with sea view which was realy beautiful, especially sunsets and that is a big plus. Minus is day and night noise from the street, even with doors shut, it still can be heard. But if you close the door, it's too hot and you won't be able to sleep. There is air condition which was included in the price, but is just above the bed, and it cools right onto the bed which is not convenient too. Breakfast was ok, but every day the same. City center is 15-20 min to walk. There was big waves and red flags during 8 days of our stay but we still enjoy staying. Nevertheless, it's a good value for that price, Rethimno is a great and beautiful city with many restaurants and historical places. Crete is an amaizing island, so much different than the rest of the Grece with many natural beauties and beaches which all together with its history will make you always wanna come back ;)

Awful rooms, very very old and dirty, with a stench smell.. The only employees of the hotel are the two owners who are really rude.. the elevator is like 100 years old and is always out of order.. the building and the staff defenately need a renovation as soon as possible.. Do not make the mistake to choose such a creepy place..

We were happy that we've choosen Zantina hotel for our 7 days trip to Crete. It is perfect situated - the coast is just across the road, the rooms are clean, with natural wooden firniture. The staff -two cute ladies are always friendly, helpful, smiling! we are so thankful to them!!! There is no mosquitos and other insects in rooms and near the hotel. Rooms have air conditioning. Breacfasts are tasty, morning coffe is delicious(!), really nice. We would certainly recommend Zantina to everybody! And if we come to Crete again, we will stay in Zantina again for sure:)
