We stayed here in July 2022 and had a wonderful time. The staff are delightful and very accommodating – we kept having to change our arrangements firstly because a flight was cancelled and then because one of our children’s friends decided to join us, so we had to change rooms and they were absolutely brilliant in rearranging things. Breakfast is excellent with a good choice of cooked food, fresh fruit cereals and pastries plus cold meats and cheeses. We often ate at the poolside bar which does really nice Greek food at a very reasonable price and some lovely cocktails as well – the staff are absolutely fantastic. We ate one evening in the hotel which has a buffet style menu and again the kids yummed that up, eating the whole supply of chicken wings – I asked the chef if there were any more and he obligingly provided us with another huge quantity! The rooms are very clean, air-conditioned and comfortable. In July, watch out for biting insects and don’t leave the windows and doors open in case they get in. I wish I had brought a flyswatter! It’s about a 15 to 20 minute walk down into the old town of Rethymno and about a 25 minute walk back up the hill (depending on how fit you are!) with a taxi fare of about €5. There’s lots of parking under shade. The other guests are mainly German families and couples. Everybody sat out on the terrace after dinner and enjoyed cocktails which I highly recommend: again, our teenagers really enjoyed them. We had a bed and breakfast arrangement and I think our additional costs for five days were around £300. It was good value in my opinion. We will definitely come back here – it’s a perfect location for families and couples. The hotel staff recommend October as the best time to stay.

I stayed for 3 nights in this place, booking after seeing some wonderful photos. The place has potential, the rooms are very nice but they could make them more contemporary and not 90's. UNCOMFORTABLE the path to get to the suites, I left with BAD in my legs, HORRIBLE breakfast, poor raw materials, all of very low quality, not very varied, all very disgusting. It is not worth more than 35 euros a night, they should change companies and set everything from ZERO.

The hotel is situated on a hill with beautiful view of the sea and the city of Rethymno. Very steap road to the hotel if you plan to reach it by foot. Close to the city center but quiet and peaceful. In trhe room there is no wifi. You can use wifi only in lobby, restaurant etc. No refrigerator in the room. Hotel charged us before the cancellation policy was up ( even tough we picked an option pay on spot) , and gave us the room that was very different than the description. Keep in mind that booking sea view room you might get SIDE sea view with the direct view on a dog cage and playground. VERY LOUD DOORS , you will be awaken around 7:30-8:00 by each person opening and closing doors since you have to pull it hard to close. Hotels offers cleaning every 3 days due to Covid , we stayed 7 nights ( 8 days) and our room was cleaned once. Overall the hotel has nice views, if you manage to get sea view indeed. But for the price you can get better establishments with better access.

We stayed here in mid June. We enjoyed the stay a lot! Food (some described negatively in older reviews) was delicious with many options so the hotel probably worked to improve that. Service was great too. The walk to the city centre / city beaches takes around 10 min. In the evening you can enjoy a beer / drink in a peacful athmosphere which we like more than a busy city centre. Great stay!

The hotel is set up out of the way of the main town, just a ten - fifteen minute walk away from the main shops and tavernas. The room was lovely, we were in 405, which overlooked the carpark and trees, but also the sea as it was on the end of the building. It was lovely and quiet in the rooms, and the balcony was lovely to sit on through the evening, it was also a lovely sun trap up until around 11am. The bathroom was the best thing about the room, it was very modern with a fantastic big walk in shower. The beds weren't the comfiest though and my oh found them hard to sleep on. We also asked to use a fridge for our room, and was told the day we arrived there wasn't any available, and to check back the next day, so maybe add a note that you would like to hire one when booking to avoid disappointment. Thankfully someone checked out and we were able to hire one, for €5 a day which was a bit pricey, but it was a nice sized fridge (can hold about 20 small waters). The aircon was a bit useless and only really kicked in in the middle of the night, so keep this in mind when paying for it, it was also €5 a day. You can pay €2 for wi-fi, but you can only use this in the reception area, it does not reach the rooms. Cant comment on how good it was though as we never used it. We were bed and breakfast so ate a few times at the hotel, but we weren't very impressed. The breakfast consisted of cocktail sausages, a different type of egg, and meat and cheese with bread, with a little fruit. We never actually ate dinner at the hotel, but took a look one evening and wasn't very impressed, but we cant really comment as we never ate. If you want to head into town the walk down isn't too bad, just take the little walkway down by the pool and its not far from there. I suggest you take a taxi back though as it is a steep hill back, which was only €5. The roof bar and the bankery were both lovely bars for cocktails and are certainly worth a look. They both overlook a good car park too which we used through the day to park, and was €1.80 for an hour (though dont attempt this on a Thursday because the market is held in the car park). For a meal we both loved nyn & aei, which is a lovely traditional taverna right in the centre of Rethymno. The La Boheme was also a fantastic tarvena with a lovely setting and fantastic food, it is also right in the centre of the town.

I didn't mind the 15 minute hike to the top of the hill to get to the Hotel as knew this before I was going to stay, I was prepared! The Hotel was a bit dark, but the welcome was lovely by a nice lady, I think she was the owner! She showed me to my room which was very modern (boutique style) but it overlooked and sat on a walkway - so no balcony... The room was next to the main Reception near enough, so I could hear everything and there is a parrot at Reception, thankfully gets taken away at night time! Lots of hot water, TV was naff AND you had to pay for the WIFI - absolutely rubbish..It is 2016!! Should be free!! I survived without it! Breakfast in the morning was not very colourful, very limited and just looked a bit dry and sad. It was a one star hotel breakfast to be honest - no though gone into its presentation. Lots of Germans, but it was ok. The cleaner for the public areas in the morning was VERY FRIENDLY and chatty. The sun lounger area was the highlight..It was like staying in a hilltop villa, very quiet, lots of birdsong and magnificent, wasn't even busy! A cold pool, but it was only end of May, but it was very warm still! Rethymnon is an ok place, but after a few hours I had seen it all. When I left the Hotel, different story, the owner completely ignored me and was more interested talking to a member of staff! I wouldn't stay here again to be honest, it was okay for 2 nights.

Hotel is spotlessly clean, nice and modern. The food is really nice, the choice is not huge, no sweet deserts so if you are a desert lover you will head to town straight after dinner to try some nice ones. But we liked everything we tried, very tasty! We enjoyed the drinks on the terrace in the evening with a great view, the hotel is up the hill from old town and the beach so good thing is you have an amazing views but you have to go up the hill every time you are coming back (or you can take a taxi). Staff is very nice, polite and works so hard to make sure everybody is enjoying their holiday. THANK YOU AGAIN!

Hotel very good. Spotlessly clean inside and out with Staff that cannot do enough for you. As on hillside above City it is cooler than nearer the coast. It is near enough to go down to the City and beach but far enough away so that the air is cleaner and quieter. The gardens and pool are continuously cleaned and maintained. There is no vegetarian option on the menu but the lovely Chef cooked Baked potatoes just for me on several occasions. Also when I had a bad "tum" the Barman went down to the City and brought me - without payment - as pot of Yoghurt! Then the Waitress came later and brought bread and butter to my room without me asking for anything. Beyond the call of duty.... Would recommend this Hotel 100%

The other reviews get pretty right, great hotel, very clean, friendly staff but poor breakfast.... I went for bread and honey every morning, I was kinda happy getting back home and have some different stuff, like fresh fruit :P otherwise I really cant say anything bad about the place, so if your ok with bread and honey for breakfast, I suppose zou wont find a better place for the same price at rethymo...
