We were disappointed as this hotel should be excellent with its proximity to the sea.The breakfast is basic but the lady serving it is one of the few pleasant people there. There were flies on stuff like the feta cheese and yoghurt which is not covered.Sula was more interested is looking after the small baby rather than the reception.Evening meal was just ok,The rooms could do with a good scrub and need shower curtains in the bathroom no plug in the sink .No hairdryer or kettle and fortune to hire anything.Tried to take 28 euros for tourist tax.Hotel is a2star but becomes a 3 star and charges 21 euro. The cost should be 7 euros.Fellow guests were mostly german but were very friendly and a lot of them were not satisfied. Some of the family tried to be pleasant but most were miserable.Rooms are very overlooked as balconies face and are near too.Car hire quote was colossal.Hired from the man down the road saving 50 euros. The maid was pleasant and as it was the end of the season changed the towels regularly.Said towels were threadbare and hard,This hotel needs new mattresses and bedding.…
This place is so beautiful with owners to match. Sula, Nico, Georgo ,Zoe, Dimitri and all the family are second to none. The apartments are very clean and well maintained. The hotel is just perfect with the beach down a few stairs. We never left the hotel because we loved it so much. Food is excellent. Sitting by the sea whilst eating dinner is just perfect. Will be back next year so keep the aspro stocked up!!. See you all next year and hopefully the legend Bruno. Keep healthy Love Tony and Debbie xx P.s Best wishes with the new baby Sula.
Stayed for a week as a couple! Quite nice hotel with good facilities. Beach fine.. rooms fine.... breakfast (repetetive) but fine... pool fine...2 decent restaurants nearby.. the bad bits... bedding & towels not changed.. we had to go and get them ourselves! Air con €7 per night.. sunbeds on the beach €6 per pair unless you spend all day and night buying bad overpriced drinks from the poolside bar and then you get special treatment and your overlooked for payment! Hotel meals really poor! Not particularly clean..
Pros Friendly family run place. All rooms within a stones throw of the pool and nice beach just down the steps. All rooms have sea view from balcony. Decent size balcony with table & chairs. Kitchen facilities (fridge, pans, plates, cutlery, cooking jobs) in larger rooms (studios). Easy parking and also local bus service to go to Rethymno center. Design of hotel and pool area is beautiful. Usually possible to get a sun bed by the pool. Cons A/C in our room was not efficient and sometimes noisy, others in our group staying in different rooms didn't have this problem. Food was below average for breakfast and the taverna. We were the only Non German guests in the hotel; I don't have a problem with this at all, however families with kids may prefer to stay somewhere where the kids can communicate? Overall I would recommend Ekavi beach. We had a lovely stay and the owners made us feel very welcome. This is a very beautiful part of Greece to be enjoyed by all.…
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 10 nights recently and it was fantastic! We both agreed at the end of the holiday that we would come back. Great sea view from the back of the hotel and easy access to the beach. Lovely pool with lots of sun loungers to use. Excellent food we loved the cheese saganaki!! All very well priced aswell. Our room was nice, just what we needed. The hotel has a bus stop into the old town pretty much right outside which we used nearly every day. The hosts went above and beyond for you! Couldnt of asked for a better place to stay!
The hosts were very friendly and always keen to provide you with necessary information. The hotel was okay, there is nothing more to expect at this price range. The location is very great, near the sea and far off crowds. Unfortunately I have to point out that the breakfast area is far from hygienic. We knew that it's going to be continental breakfast. Regarding the hotel stars we didn't set expectations.
thanks to sula and her lovely family who made our stay the best vacation ever.frome the children to the grandfather. where else do you get a hug from the hotels grandfather on departure ♡ clean and big studio and delicious home made food . We be back ♡
This hotel has modern rooms, freshly decorated. We had twin beds, as well as a bunk bed for kids (if required!) the room was really spacious and opened up onto a little balcony. Air con will cost you 5 euros a day. The bathroom was large and clean, and while the shower wasn’t exactly powerful, it was more than adequate. The receptionist speaks excellent English so was able to answer all of our queries. There’s a small shop on site selling locally sourced tourist gifts, as well as a few cool drinks In a really quiet part of Crete, this hotel is great for some R&R. Don’t expect much by way of restaurants and bars, there are approximately 6-7 restaurants and tavernas within a 1km stroll. There’re two fairly large market/supermarket shops about 500m in either direction for basics. You can get a bus into Reythmono easily enough. Get 2 tickets from the hotel reception and head left out the hotel until you reach a phone box. The bus takes approx 40 minutes and will drop you in the centre of town. Coming back, look for buses marked “hotel 20” Beach The hotel has a very small stretch of beach, reached by some steps down from the pool area. There are about ten or so sunbeds available for 3 euros a day each. If the sea is choppy though the beds won’t be put out. When the sea is calm, the water is crystal clear, and shelves gently out to see, but when it’s choppy there are fairly large waves and a strong under-tow. We had ten days here in August, and it was 50/50 as to whether it was any good to go in the sea! Pool area The pool is very clean, with large stone steps to get in and out. It slopes sharply down to the deep end. There’s also a separate children’s pool. There’s a pool bar (usually someone manning it from about 11am) Food and Drink The on-site tavern serves a variety of traditional Greek foods, from starters through to mains, as well as pizzas, pasta, burgers etc. We ate lunch here most days and never had a bad meal. Some nearby restaurants worthy of note: Taverna Eleven – about 800m from the hotel, (head left as you come out) this taverna is very nice looking, with great views out over the sea. Food was great, although you get the occasional whiff from the farm next door! Thalassi Beach Bar (although this has themed nights and looks a bit like a club house, it actually serves pretty good food and has a great view out over the sea). Dimitris: Eat in or takeaway, the food’s pretty good. Pantelis restaurant, next to the supermarket, great food and occasional themed nights or karaoke.…
LOVED IT. Rooms are fairly clean, staff are friendly, good food, good prices, a wonderful view on the beach. Wi-fi is honestly very weak. Generally speaking ,the place Is more like a very warm greek family house. Fell totally in love with the owners nephew😍😍. ☁️
This is a very friendly family run hotel we stayed for 10 nights and had a lovely time. The facilities are very good, friendly reception with helpful advice, morning breakfast area, its own taverna which serves good food at reasonable prices, a beach bar with a friendly barman, a pool, sun loungers, adjacent beach, nearby shops and tavernas. The local bus runs every 30 minutes into Rethymno town and costs 1.80 euros. The rooms are functional with good showers but not 5-star, so if that is what you like you would probably prefer a bigger hotel(?). We stayed out of peak season, I think the facilities could get overcrowded in peak season but I guess the same can be said for any hotel(?). Would go back to Ekavi Beach.
