I have been to The Lefkoniko many times over the years, and still I keep going back. There is a great atmosphere generated by the staff and the management. This is a family run hotel, which probably explains the personal touch. The staff are efficient , friendly, and helpful (reception/restaurant/bar/cleaning) Overall standards are excellent. The A/I catering is spot on. With its pool and sun area , but the beach is literally one minute walk away. Also a walk in to the Old Town (20 mins) is a must.. Do yourself a favour and try The Lefkoniko.

I booked to stay in Lefkoniko Bay hotel via booking.com and was put in their cheaper sister hotel Lefkoniko Beach hotel. There was nothing to confirm I would be staying in a different hotel. No sign of Lefkoniko Beach on Booking.com otherwise I would I chosen it if I wanted to stay there. I expect to stay at the hotel I booked for and not palmed of to a downgraded hotel. When complaining to both receptionist and manager they were extremely rude and threatening. Told me they choose where the guest stays, not us. They can do what they like as it’s their hotel. They don’t have to mention you may be put in another hotel on booking.com and it’s not their problem if you booked with booking.com. I would not recommend this hotel at all, they seem to think that they can get away with misusing their guests by advertising the rooms from their best hotel which is what you’d expect to stay in and they put you in somewhere different. I worked for a hotel chain where we have three hotels in my hometown and would never misuse our guest by telling them they’re staying in a completely different hotel to what they booked for. The manager needs some customer service training and so does the receptionist as they clearly don’t know how to treat their guest properly. I don’t care if they’ve had 15 years in the hotel industry, I’ve had 10 and was absolutely appalled by their treatment.

For the price, the very old style could be acceptable but the bed (mattress) was horrible. So old and poor quality that it was like sleeping on a wood plank. On top of it the mattress was dirty (see picture). The breakfast: again for the price you can’t expect top quality, no good surprises

The hotel has great location. It is situated very close to the beach and old town/ town center of Rethymno. It is very clean and has spacious rooms with all necessary facilities. Great value for money.. Nearby the hotel there are plenty of shops (supermarket), restaurant, cafe etc.. It is highly recommended!

Very surpriced about the Hugh standard of our room. We got a room in the ikaros section of the hotell. That part must have been bought up by the original Lefkoniko hotell. The whole staff is very friendly abd helpfull. Food was ok and has a large selection. Very close to the beach! The surroundings is not so quiet but thats how it is living in the middle of a city. No problem for us.

We have just got back from an absolutely fantastic week at Lefkoniko Bay hotel ,cannot think of a bad word to say about this hotel, on arrival we were late for evening meal but When we checked into our room a sandwich water and fruit had been put in the fridge for us, was a lovely gesture, alll meals were good, never had to wait , I'm a fussy eater and never went hungry, beds made every day room cleaned every day, cannot fault the maids, not at any point did we have to fight for a sun lounger, pools were lovely although a little deep for myself. Vladimir behind the bar and I think Helen ? Are a credit to this hotel nothing was to much trouble, but to be honest the whole of the staff were so lovely and friendly they made our stay a pleasure , all in all a lovely family run hotel with a lovely feel, we had a fantastic chilled week and we will defiantly be back next April x

The apartment was spotless. The maids came in every day, leaving clean towels. The pool was great with only about 2-3 couples swimming and sunbathing. Our meals at the Beach Hotel were a hit and a miss. Clearly the food was based on Eastern Europeans staying at the hotels. (We could also swim and sunbathe at the Beach Hotel). The entire staff were friendly and polite, they couldn't be more helpful. Such a shame about the food.

Don't bother with all inclusive you won't eat and drink there no bar or restaurant at Lefkoniko bay everything at the Lefkoniko beach hotel. Food is 2 out of 10 caters for people who eat to survive not to enjoy bring your own shovel. Hope you like waiting a long time for anything. But what staff there is do their best. Booked hotel in January but still managefd to Double booked, me so had to spend first night in another location, but that only had a double bed have not had to share a bed with my children for years.
