The pool was on the cool side and there wasn't much space. However, it seemed sufficient in the month of May when we were there. The hotel was very clean and our room was huge and we had 2 balconies it was lovely. We had booked a partial sea view, and got an apartment on the corner, which you can see in their picture. Breakfast is taken at the neighboring hotel, it was lovely - lots of choices. The area was relatively quiet, even though we were close to the main street - that is, apart from the garbage trucks. But never mind.

There is a drying rack and soap and shampoo in the bathroom.

The hotel located close to sea side and it is very comfortable to reach the beach. The atmosphere is friendly, the staff of the hotel are helpfull, nice, making feel you comfortable. The breakfasts and dinners were nice, the food is good. There are a lot of restaurants, clubs, shops around, not so far away from old city of Ritimno, great location.

We spent our Easter holidays for six nights into this hotel. It is a very good hotel with spacious clean rooms. Owner and staff were very friendly and always ready to help you. Breakfast and dinner were very rich and of a very good quality. The hotel is near the center and the beach of Rethymnon. Around the hotel there are many shops, restaurants and bars. Rethymnon is a nice interesting town where you can relax, have fan, good food and a market with wide variety of goods.

The worst hotel practice in my life.
Very bad, old and dirty rooms with coackroaches and a smell of dampness.
Worst mattases and no comforf. It was mentioned as a twin bad, but actually there were just two bads brought together.
Food was poor, but kitchen staff is good and friendly.
Reception staffs english is poor and cleaning is organized awefully. They were not bringing shampoes, gels, towels. They were not cleaning too good.
Never choose this hotel. The only adventage is the location (close to the beach, best restaurants, city center, old town).
You can find another better hotels in the same location. Better to pay a little bit more, but at least you will avoid many main global issues (like coackroaches in the bathroom, dirty room, missing towels and shampoes).

I booked to stay in Lefkoniko Bay hotel via booking.com and was put in their cheaper sister hotel Lefkoniko Beach hotel. There was nothing to confirm I would be staying in a different hotel. No sign of Lefkoniko Beach on Booking.com otherwise I would I chosen it if I wanted to stay there. I expect to stay at the hotel I booked for and not palmed of to a downgraded hotel. When complaining to both receptionist and manager they were extremely rude and threatening. Told me they choose where the guest stays, not us. They can do what they like as it’s their hotel. They don’t have to mention you may be put in another hotel on booking.com and it’s not their problem if you booked with booking.com. I would not recommend this hotel at all, they seem to think that they can get away with misusing their guests by advertising the rooms from their best hotel which is what you’d expect to stay in and they put you in somewhere different. I worked for a hotel chain where we have three hotels in my hometown and would never misuse our guest by telling them they’re staying in a completely different hotel to what they booked for. The manager needs some customer service training and so does the receptionist as they clearly don’t know how to treat their guest properly. I don’t care if they’ve had 15 years in the hotel industry, I’ve had 10 and was absolutely appalled by their treatment.

For the price, the very old style could be acceptable but the bed (mattress) was horrible. So old and poor quality that it was like sleeping on a wood plank. On top of it the mattress was dirty (see picture).

The breakfast: again for the price you can’t expect top quality, no good surprises

I have been to The Lefkoniko many times over the years, and still I keep going back.
There is a great atmosphere generated by the staff and the management.
This is a family run hotel, which probably explains the personal touch.
The staff are efficient , friendly, and helpful (reception/restaurant/bar/cleaning)
Overall standards are excellent. The A/I catering is spot on.
With its pool and sun area , but the beach is literally one minute walk away.
Also a walk in to the Old Town (20 mins) is a must..
Do yourself a favour and try The Lefkoniko.

We arrived at the hotel at 2.00 in the morning. All we wanted was to get some sleep. We had to go to another hotel across the street to get the room keys as there was no receptionist in our hotel, no lights in the corridors and searched for our rooms using our hands and our mobile lights. Our child was supposed to have a room right next to ours but instead he was put two floors above. The rooms were not so clean with coackroaches and a smell of dampness. The next morning one of the staff members was very polite and apologetic and promised to make new arrangements. The next moment a man walks in out of nowhere and without introducing himself he verbally attacked us , grabbed my handbag with all my credit cards, money, mobile phone etc and threw it in the street. His wife looked very frightened and upset but was kind enough to ran out and bring it back. He was screaming and swearing at us just because we complained the previous night about the whole situation. The impression he made on the other tourists was so obvious as they were literally running in a panic out of the lobby area.Later we found out that he was one of the hotel directors. We were disgusted and disappointed but decided not to ruin our holiday so on the same day we moved out to a four star hotel very near and had a wonderful time. We travel around the world since many years but never had such an awkward experience. Well, there's always the first time! :) Crete is beautiful and is worth the visit!! Just keep away from toxic people and places. :) enjoy!!
