Detailed Reviews
We stayed there for a week during our holidays on Crete. The booking went smoothly over the email and we were greeted by lovely Mr Yannis at the reception desk. We had a nice room with double bed and everything was spot on clean. Our room was thoroughly cleaned one time during the week ( corona restrictions), but our towels were changed and the trash cans were emptied every day. The food was good and the service was provided smoothly following the corona restrictions. Special thanks to young bartenders serving the meals, they were super polite and helpful.
The hotel is nice, modern, great for a quiet holiday :)

The hotel is really beautiful and clean. I really appreciate that we felt safe, because in the every corner was antibacterial gel and on the breakfast and dinner we had gloves and masks available.
The hotel’s staff was great! Especially Giannis from the reception was very polite and kind and gave us great tips what to do in Rethymno. The world would be better place if we had more people like Giannis 😊
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, beds were very comfortable. Beach is near to the hotel and water is warm and good for swimming. Don’t forget to try Freddo cappuccino on the beach!
Only one thing was average in this hotel - Food. Breakfast was really good with various options, but dinner was - not great, not terrible 😅 But it was our fault, next time we choose only hotel with breakfast, because in Greece to have half board is a sin!! 😎 There are a lot of options with delicious food in restaurants with great atmosphere and reasonable prices.

This hotel is very clean (rooms and public Areas) - The only small thing i'd like to criticize regarding the cleanliness is that there is sometimes a weird yellow substance on the surface of the pool, maybe some sort of undissolved chemical.
Also, there is a certain type of insect sitting on most of the trees at the pool area and they chirp with an intense volume. i found this annoying, but you cannot really give the responsibility for this to the hotel.
About 90 % of the hotel guests were couples, and this clearly influences the atmosphere, so there is not a lot of chatting between the guests.
The hotel staff is polite and helpful and speaks various languages fluently (for example english, greek, german, russian...) A commenable mention goes to Angelica who was the prettiest and most charming of all :)
The food is average. Not a lot of variety and a heavy usage of olive oil in most dishes. We had booked half board and tried out a few cocktails at the bar which were alright.
The location is pretty good, beach is around 3 minutes away by walking, restaurants one minute, ATM 5 minutes.

We recently spent 12 nights at the Atrium hotel. The staff were fantastic and incredibly helpful. Incredibly clean with attentive waiting on the tables throughout breakfast and dinner periods. An immaculate and beautiful pool area which you can lay around all day.
The location is a short 20 minute walk along the beach to the old town and less than a 5 minute walk to the beach/ beachfront shops and restaurants. The location also allows for easy access to main roads to travel outwards to other beautiful beaches and villages.
Would defiantly return!

I cannot even find words to describe our stay in this hotel. We spent 14 days there, end of August and we felt like we were spending time with family. The room was spacious and always cleaned and taken care of, the bed, pillows ans mattress were very comfortable, the food was really tasty both breakfast and dinner. Never boring and extremely well cooked. Very close to the beach, only a few minutes, a 15-minute walk to the city center and the old town. Several supermarkets also in the area. A huge hug to the hotel staff, Yiannis, Vaggelis, Susanna, Angelica and the entire team, they did everything humanly possible to help in every way, really professional and caring. They helped with renting a car, choosing beaches, gave us good advice and shared good stories. They became friends. The dream team! We will certainly be back next year! We cannot wait! We recommend this hotel to everybody who wants the perfect vacation in Crete!

We stayed in the Atrium Ambiance hotel in Rethymnon for a week at the end of September.
We had the superior room, which was lovely as you had a big balcony overlooking the pool and seating area. It also had still some sun on it during the late afternoon. The room itself was very clean and especially very modern, which is not always the case in Greece I find. We only had a few downsides for our room: the shower overflows with water, which means you always have water to clean up in the bathroom after taking a shower. The bathroom is also quite small in comparison to the pictures seen online. However it was modern and very well cleaned. Lastly, our major point of improvement is the panel for operating the lights and airco, it's quite fancy but it gives a lot of light, especially during nighttime. We managed a way to cover it up so we wouldn't be disturbed by the light.
We stayed halfpension. The restaurant was good, the food was varied and tasty. Major point of improvement is to have more variation in the dessert at dinnertime and especially also in the breakfast. We would have liked to see more types of bread too. Super is the fact that you can have breakfast already from 7h15 without asking, even sooner if you ask, which is fantastic if you like to do excursions like us. For dinnertime, you can have it from 18.15 to 21.15.
The pool area is small but not overcrowded when we went there. No people are putting their towels on the sunbeds either, which is nice. As we went at the end of September, the major downside of the pool is that the sun is only on the pool area between 10.30 and 16.00 if you even switched sunbeds. This is due to the shadow of the hotel building itself. I cannot judge that when you would go during July or August.
Lastly, the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful in all aspects. Overall, we had a great stay and we would recommend anyone visiting Crete to stay in this hotel.

We have just returned back to the UK from The Atrium .
Great hotel with lovely comfortable beds and well furnished modern rooms . One of our best visits to Crete as the location of the hotel is very central to everything , beach and town centre so very close we loved it . Excellent town with some top quality restaurants and some lovely shops.
We normally hire a car but this time we found it so relaxing just staying local and on the beach everyday .
Only downside sadly was the food , we understand about covid and the hotel is doing it's up most to keep standard's high .However the food needed to be kept hotter and omelette at breakfast stone cold .
I'm sad to write this as all the staff are lovely and doing a amazing job in these difficult times.
This would not stop me from staying again but maybe on a different board basis .I read all reviews before I booked and the food reviews where very good so we are on the understanding it is because of covid .The hotel is very modern and well maintained and is spotlessly clean , gorgeously designed .
We look forward to another visit as you are very well looked after .
Thank you very much .

I was a guest in this hotel for 2 night in October 2020. The location is great: very close to the beach and to restaurants and souvenir shops. There is also a bio shop next to the hotel with local quality products. The room excedeed my expectations: extremely clean and big with view to the pool. It also had a big balcony ( also spotlessly clean) with a table and two chairs and plenty of space to enjoy the sunset. Breakfast was plentiful but you could not serve yourself you had to wait for the staff. The only downside is that you had to pay for the fresh orange juice . In regard to the dinner for me it was hit one night and miss the other one : the staff were very attentive to your requests. The hotel also offers access to a private pool, sunbeds and provides beach towels at no extra cost.I enjoyed the time spent here and I would definitely come back in the future.

We have just returned from a 10 night stay in The Atrium Ambiance hotel and cannot speak highly enough about it. It is ideally situated for accessing the beach ( 2 minute walk) and the enchanting old town of Rethmynon (15 minutes walk) We had requested a room that got plenty of sunshine on the balcony and this was honoured. If this is important to you I recommend the top floor street view rooms. The hotel is modern and kept spotlessly clean by the tireless efforts of the domestic staff. Every single member of staff needs a mention as they are so friendly and attentive but two in particular stood out for us. Firstly Alex who was on reception when we arrived, as his welcome set the tone for the rest of our stay. We were delayed and as a result didn't arrive until the early hours. He displayed such compassion for our welfare and acknowledging our tired & hungry state immediately ordered us some food and ensured our comfort. We have never been greeted with such professionalism so thank you Alex. We would also like to mention Stalios the restaurant manager. He is such a gentleman, greeting everyone to the restaurant and ensuring everyone's dining experience is top class. He never stopped overseeing the presentation of the food and we observed his friendly interaction with the kitchen, waiting staff which I'm certain has a positive impact on staff moral. Thank you one and all. Carol & Nick Cucuz (UK)

The hotel is nice, clean, and just 5 minutes away from the beach where there are also mini markets to buy whatever you need.
The staff is great and helpful, the entertainment part was nice, and the food is very good.
Unfortunately, since the rooms are on an open coridor, you can hear the noise from the street, especially during the night.
For a 4 star hotel, there were two things that we do not consider normal, and are ruining the reputation, in our opinion.
1) They charge 2.5 euro for a 0.75l bottle of water at the dinner, when at the market 1.5l costs 50 cents, and considering this is not an a-la-carte restaurant, but the breakfast and dinner are included in the package.
2) They offered a very poor early breakfast for when we went to a trip 30 minutes before the breakfast hours. There were no tomatoes, no cucumbers, or any fruits offered... only some bread, cheese slices and coffee.
All in all, we've had a very nice vacation in Rethymnon, as Crete is a great Island which has a lot to offer, and Greeks are very nice people 😀
